2016 Digest:   The former Brisbane captain is keen to make the most of this second chance at AFL level. Played 21 games last season and, while his experience will be handy down back and through the middle, his four-goal haul in Round 23 last year – against the Bulldogs – showed he can go forward and be damaging.

2016 NAB Cup:   Former Lion skipper impressed in VFL after 10 possessions against Melbourne. If injuries strike he could get a chance.

2016 Season

1 Coll Defender now on a wing. Solid and a great goal after stealing ball off Langdon. 6
2 NM Went to Dal Santo at the start. Never gave up during an uphill evening. 6
3 Rich Tough time spent minding Newman. In the main below his usual high standard. 4
4 WCE Collected half of his 20 disposals in last term when game was decided. 5
5 GCS Needed to do more, given his experience in such a young side. 3
6 Carl Did his job without starring from the defensive arc. 5
7 Port Booming goal early in third term showed Brisbane would not surrender. 7
8 Ess Began on Stanton and didn’t have a great day. 3
9 StK Had a stint minding Schneider with not much success. 5

13 Adel Started on a wing but later moved. Minimal impact. 5

16 Melb Battled hard as a defensive forward but did little offensively. Four inside-50s. 4

2014 Season

1 Haw Tracked by Puopolo and didn’t have a massive day. Still contributed in parts. 5
2 Geel Unable to impact the game like he sometimes can from half back. 3
3 GCS Copped a few knocks but kept trying valiantly. 5
4 Port Great rebounding out of defence and started many Brisbane attacks. 7
5 Rich Courageous as usual and copped heavy knock in friendly fire. 6
6 StK Led from the front with hard running in first half that set up lead. 7
7 Syd Did well under siege in defence. Third highest possession for the Lions . 7
8 Ess Spent time on Stanton and Chapman and worked hard as usual. 6
9 NM Worked tirelessly to try to halt the flow. 6
11 Carl Serviceable game from the skipper in defence. 5
12 WB Cleaned bowled by bouncing ball early, but responded well to play a solid role. 5
13 GWS Had no say in proceedings and was very quiet. 3
14 Frem Skipper wasn’t the worst and went onto the ball late in game. 5
15 NM Ever reliable and made some superb clutch decisions in the gripping finale. 7
16 Rich Steady without starring at half back. What he did had some polish. 6

2 Adel Provided plenty of rebound from defence and generally sound. 6
3 GCS Spent time on former teammate Rischitelli in a fairly even match-up. 5

6 Syd Tagged McVeigh and tried hard but couldn’t limit the Swan’s impact. 6
7 WCE Frustrated LeCras and found the footy himself. But LeCras kicked three goals. 6

5 Geel Started on Bartel. Solid effort in trying conditions. 6
