1 Ess Kept McDonald-Tipungwuti off the scoreboard then shifted into attack late. One of the Hawks’ best on the night. 7
2 Adel Veteran didn’t have the pop in his play required to rest the momentum off the Crows. Just another player today. 5
3 GCS Swung into attack to try and spark Hawks but the ball hardly got down there. 5
4 Geel Veteran playmaker tried his backside off in a handy display that featured six clearances and four tackles. 6
5 WCE Started forward and got a lot of ball then went behind the ball at stages too when required. Influential throughout. 7
6 StK Thrown around in a number of positions but didn’t have his normal influence. Made some uncharacteristic errors. 5
7 Melb Reason they call him “Silk”. Showed class each time he got it and one goal was an absolute ripper from 50 metres. 8
8 Bris His 19 possessions were almost all perfect. Business like performance going at 90 per cent efficiency. 6
9 Coll Half back with stints through the middle, but output a little flat (14 possessions). 3
10 Syd At his clutch best again. Two goals were huge in the context of the game, and rarely made an error. 8
11 Port Smooth mover rarely found the space to hurt Power and ended night with a total of 13 effective disposals. 4
12 GCS Battled hard both midfield and forward for 24 touches and four inside-50s. Handy but certainly didn’t star. 6

14 Adel Old legs, quick brain and hands, hasn’t lost any of his footy smarts. 7
15 Coll Playing game 333 he again produced some highlights, including one goal that was like a chip over the goalkeeper. 8
16 GWS 23 disposals and seven clearances including four bursts out of the centre. Deserves to go on next year if he wants to. 7
17 Geel Veteran tried hard but not all went right for him; 19 disposals but no inside-50s and one goal. 5
18 Frem Took time to get into the game but when he did, he put his teammates into a good position. 5
19 Syd Constantly got forward of the Swans all night, another masterful performance against the red and white. 9
20 Rich Really quiet first half then found some form after half time. Ended with 21 disposals but only 12 effective. 5
21 NM Quiet day for Silk, but still impacted with two goals. 4
22 Carl Threatened to take the game away from the Blues with a strong last term. Always damaging. 7
23 WB Hit target with all 12 touches in first half and then effort petered out for 21 total possessions. Handy without starring. 6

2016 Season

1 Geel Played a role in dragging them back into the contest but gave away four frees. 6
2 WCE Got better as the game wore on at half back. Rarely wasted a possession as ever. 7
3 WB Worked hard with a game-high 10 tackles. As always, cool in a crisis. 7
4 StK A bit quieter this week but still influential when given space. 6
5 Adel In his 300th game the Hawk champ maintained high standard of pressure and output. 5
6 GWS Didn’t have his typical impact driving the ball forward. 4
7 Rich Lifted in strong second half and involved in plenty of attacking moves. 7
8 Frem Not a big game by his high standards. 4
9 Syd Can always be relied upon for a contribution and was handy down back. 5
10 Bris Solid in the backline and helped out in the midfield. Laid seven tackles, had five inside-50s. 7
11 Melb Quiet day at half back but did the right thing when needed. 4
13 NM Moved into middle to stem North’s early flow and did well. Went to Harvey later on. 7
14 GCS Veteran playmaker had a quiet one. Only goal came in final term. Two inside-50s. 4
16 Port Pushed forward late in the game for a great goal after some Rioli magic. 7
17 Syd Two brilliant goals in final term and nine clearances. A star who played like one. 8

23 Coll Stepped it up when the game was on the line in the final term. Key player. 7
QF Geel Did the big things when it mattered – including big final term goal. All class. 6

2015 Season

1 Geel Really good when game was at its hottest and did his job with little fuss. 6
2 Ess Numbers look good but didn’t have his typical incisive touches going forward. 5
3 WB OK contributor. 5
4 Port Struggled to impose himself on the game. 5
5 NM Kept Nahas quiet and was effective when he had the ball. 6
6 GWS Used the ball beautifully out of the back half in a clinical display. 7
7 Melb Silky smooth in possession and never flustered. 7
8 Syd Poise and polish a highlight. One dash late in the game was all class. 6
9 GCS Handy player whose input never falls below a high level. 6
10 StK Kept a tight rein on Billings and sacrificed his own game. 6
12 Adel Continued to defy his age with another scintillating display. 7

2014 Season

1 Bris Played a strong hand in the Hawks win, especially in the second term. 6
2 Ess Played predominantly forward and efficient with everything he did. 7
3 Frem Went to defence on Ballantyne. Did everything required as he usually does. 6
4 GCS Picked up heaps of the ball early in defence and went about his business. 7
5 Geel Steady without starring in variety of roles. Six tackles and one inside-50. 5
6 Rich In his 250th AFL game was his normal calm and efficient self. 7
7 StK Started in middle. Best on ground with totally polished display. 8
8 Syd Threatened to be the difference then Bird shut him out in final term. 7
10 Port Kept fighting til the end and produced two quality goals late in game. 7
11 GWS Quiet. Little or no influence. Only three inside-50s and no goals. 3
12 WCE Well contained, Had 18 disposals and six of them were in the first term. 5
13 Carl Key was fact he had seven of his 18 touches when game on line in final term. 6
14 Coll Switched between midfield and defence but struggled to make an impact. 6

2013 Season

1 Geel Great opening half (16 touches) then fell away a little when Cats on top. 6
2 WCE Polished work in first term helped materially towards win 6
3 Coll Seven tackles and three goals a highlight of a solid, four-quarter effort. 8
4 Frem One of the Hawks best. Classy effort from a silky player. 8
5 NM Hard-working all day in midfield and was among best. 7
6 Adel Only three disposals until half time but responded well in the second half. 5
7 Syd Stout across half back without setting the world on fire. 5
8 GWS Plenty of the ball and generated constant drive. 7
9 GCS Most consistent Hawk for first three quarters then had quiet final term. 7
10 Melb Creative game when he was around the footy. A goal and two goal assists. 6
12 Carl Beaten in air a few times down back by Rowe. Not his finest performance. 4
13 WCE Used in variety of roles but work around packs first rate – three clearances. 6
14 Bris Matched on Rockliff for most of the day and contributed well. 7

1 Coll Really slow start but warmed up. Kicked huge 70-metre goal at key time. 4
2 Geel In backline early and won 10 touches by half-time. Strong last quarter. 7
3 Adel Quiet day by his standards. 3
4 WCE Used the ball well but didn’t have a huge impact. 5
5 Syd Flying start with five touches in first four minutes and had a good day. 6
6 StK Cool head under pressure on occasions. Doesn’t waste too many kicks. 5
7 Melb Steady game. 5
8 Frem De Boer matched up with him. Wasn’t a factor. 4
9 Rich Tigers matched a variety of players to him. Many of his disposals under duress. 6
10 NM Rebounded well from defence and did well in one-on-one contests. 6
11 Port Unjustly booed every time he collected a possession but it didn’t deter him. 6
12 Bris Raines tracked him early. Strong first half. 7
14 Carl Initially on wing against McLean then to Betts where he did a fine job. 7
