Played for : St Kilda

1 Melb Worst story of the day when he went down with a knee injury late in the day. Earlier he had been potent forward. 6
2 Knee.
3 Bris Back from the dead and clearly the best player on the ground. 28 touches, 12 marks and three goals off a wing, then deep forward. 9
4 Coll Played forward and well held in the first half, but cut loose in the second. 7
5 Geel Looked sore and played accordingly. One goal and effort was there but body wouldn’t allow him to hurt the Cats. 5
6 Haw Started in attack rather than a wing. Worked hard as usual and wound up with four goals in win – including 700th of career. 8
7 GWS Horror first half (three effective disposals) and cost team a goal with poor handball. Looks injured and might need a rest. 2
8 Carl Clearly hampered by a knee injury. Collected 19 disposals and booted an important goa,l but lacked his normal spark. 5
9 Syd Playing sore at the moment but still gave all he had and managed three goals. 5

13 NM Looked rusty early but got himself into the game in the second term against difficult foe in Tarrant. 5
14 GCS Never had it easy against long time nemesis Thompson. Only looked like getting away in last half hour. 5
15 Frem Looked proppy at times. Worked hard without having a big impact. 5
16 Rich Special night for Maddies's Vision and started brilliantly. Finished with three goals and did a number on Rance. 7
17 Ess Battled hard to break the shackles applied by Hurley, and was moved up field to add something. 4
18 Syd Had an encouraging start against young Melican but then looked to tweak knee and struggled in latter stages. 4
19 Managed.
20 WCE Copped knock early then was put out of the game by heavy head clash in typically courageous effort. 4
21 Concussion.
22 NM Saints fans cheered every time he touched the ball in his last appearance at Etihad. Did his bit. 6
23 Rich Last game not one to remember. Astbury had him covered and bar one nice mark never got into the game. Great career. 4

2016 Season

Played for : St Kilda

1 Port Kicked his 650th career goal in his 299th game. Good battle with Hombsch. 6
2 WB Had a few turnovers, but workrate and effort exemplary in 300th game – 14 marks. Saints’ best. 7
3 Coll Going brilliantly until slightly concussed midway through second term and did not return. 3
4 Haw Starred again in midfield/forward role: 23 touches, 12 marks and two goals. Going as well as ever. 7
5 GWS Never stopped running and presenting. Evergreen champion tweaked ankle late. 9
6 Melb Great game by the champ in vintage form. No one went near him. 9
7 NM Superb game again. Started on wing against Gibson and covered amazing ground. 9
8 WCE Tried his heart out all day. Missed a couple of sitters though. 6
9 Ess Played most of the day up field and virtually did as he pleased. Essendon didn’t tag. 7
10 Frem Skipper was everywhere especially in final term when he burnt off opposition. 7
11 Adel Had knee to knee crash with Hickey in opening moments and hampered from then on. 4

14 Geel Terrific hard-running game mainly off the wing without match-up. Defended well. 8
15 GCS Marked strongly and gave it all but use by foot was ordinary . Kicked 0.5. 5
16 Ess Tried everything possible to keep the team afloat in all parts of the ground. 6
17 Melb Taken out of new wing role after Saints’ poor start and spent time on forward line. 7
18 WB Started on wing but when moved to attack Bulldogs couldn’t match him. 8
19 NM Despite suggestion of illness the Saints’ best with strong marking. 6
20 Carl Fairly quiet first half then lifted and shook off Rowe. 7
21 Syd Never stopped trying and a fine performer all night. 7
22 Rich Had to push forward when McCartin injured and played a solid game. 6
23 Bris Nine goals, 21 marks, 26 disposals in a superb effort by the champ. Awe inspiring. 10

2015 Season

Played for : St Kilda

1 GWS Bit short of a gallop in match conditioning. Put out by bump from behind. 5
2 GCS Set bar high early and slaughtered May. Running and pressure gave the lead. 7

6 WB Shifted to wing in second half and was influential in building the fightback. 6
7 Adel Rushed to hospital after a sickening head clash with Brodie Smith. 2
8 Concussion.
9 Bris Powerful return from concussion. Two vital early goals, two more late 7
10 Haw Strong marking and bagged brilliant goal. Looked to favour knee in second half. 6
11 Melb Dominant in attack, disposing of McDonald and bagging four goals. Limping late. 8
13 WB Huge last quarter and did everything to drag his side over line. 7
14 Ess Hurley tried hard to tie him down but couldn’t quell him. Marked strongly. 7
15 GWS Combination of Tomlinson’s attention and poor delivery made day hard. Ankle. 5
16 Rich Calf clearly bothered him but courage got him through in game for his sister. 6
17 Melb Marked strongly in unsuitable conditions. Most effective tall forward. 8

19 Frem Scragged and held continually first half. Kept going and presenting. 5
20 NM Couldn’t find clear space against determined Tarrant. 6
21 Geel Played higher up the field in Richo-like wing role. Cats couldn’t contain him. 8
22 Syd Marked strongly in free-ranging role. Hurt when he tore into pack for mark. 5
23 WCE As hard as he tried he couldn’t get into it. 4

2014 Season

Played for : St Kilda

1 Melb Always going to be the best forward on the park and blitzed in third term. 8
2 GWS Was a match winner again with five goals and couldn’t be stopped. 9
3 WCE Torched a succession of opponents by half time. Mackenzie kept with him later. 7
4 Adel Irrepressible but simply didn’t get enough chances. 7
5 Ess Burnt off Hurley and dominated forward line. In stunning form with five goals. 9
6 Bris Patfull and co blocked him out of the game. 4
7 Haw Impossible situation against Gibson with non-existent delivery. Hurt ankle. 4
8 Carl Didn’t clunk marks early. Constantly double teamed. Dazed in third. Still kicked four. 7
9 GCS Scragged by May and double-teamed most day. Plus poorly served. 4
11 Coll Ran tirelessly and had three goals by half time on Frost. Limited chances later. 6
12 Port Marked well. Class above those around him. Four goals included late lucky one. 7
13 Geel Covered ground but delivery to him was sparse and misdirected. 3
14 WCE After being tunnelled by Shuey he seemed to have running problems. 4
15 Rich Got on top of Rance in third term but not a big game overall. 5
16 Carl On Jamison he suffered from abysmal delivery 5
17 NM Flying the flag in losing cause with poor delivery and support. 6
18 Frem For once he got good delivery and took Dawson to the cleaners. 9
19 GCS Covered too much ground for May and was effective in attack. 6
20 WB Marked strongly at stages on hard-working Morris. 5
21 Syd Minded by Grundy early then Richards. Hauled in 11 marks. 6
22 Rich Beat Rance in the air and on the lead. Took 14 marks. 7
23 Adel Never stopped trying but Talia did a good job blanketing him. 5

1 GCS Tried hard but was let down by poor delivery. 5
2 Rich A long way from being written off. Had 20 touches and torched Rance in third. 7
3 GWS Ran tirelessly and Davis couldn’t stay with him. 7
4 Ess Marked strongly and ran endlessly but had to venture far to win ball. 7
5 Syd 19 touches first half and played like a man possessed. Fine captain’s game. 8
6 Coll Never gave up and was at forefront of surge in last term. Inspiring his side. 8
7 Carl Everywhere in the first half. Jamison fought back but ball never got up there. 8
8 Adel Usual high workrate, but was poorly served by teammates. 5
9 WB Had to do it on his own with a general lack of assistance. Having a huge year. 7
10 NM Got no help, but as usual he persisted and booted three goals. 6
11 WCE Had to fight for every touch but still took nine grabs, and kicked a goal. 6
13 Melb McDonald held him early but his work-rate won through in the end. 7
14 Rich Had to run far and wide to try to exert influence against Rance. 5
15 Rested.
16 Carl Led Jamison to the ball all night but tweaked knee and hurt shoulder along way. 6
17 Port Well held up to half time but then became a major factor in turnaround. 6
18 Geel Two early goals but first mark came early third term. Ended with foot injury. 3
19 Bris Tried hard on Patfull but ball was delivered under pressure and he lowered colours. 4
20 Haw Had a big opening term then Gibson got back into the game. Long hard season. 6
21 Syd Good tussle with Richards and had the edge late with strong marking. 5
22 GCS Got on top after first quarter with 15 marks and out-ran Thompson. 8
23 Frem Took a dozen marks and ran tirelessly. 7

1 Port Suffered from usual poor delivery but never gave up and was solid. 6
2 GCS Tireless workrate and had good game under the belt. 7
3 WB Attacked the contest fiercely. Tweaked knee early but kept going. 7
4 Frem Ran as hard as ever but always outnumbered in contests. 5
5 Melb Surprisingly picked up by McDonald who did well on him until late. 4
6 Haw Recaptured top form in first half with three goals. Should’ve kicked five. 6
7 Carl On Henderson but didn’t make most of chances. Presented all the time. 5
8 WCE As usual, ran himself ragged and one of handful to stand up early. 7
9 Syd Intriguing battle with Richards. 6
10 Rich Marked strongly and showed usual enormous workrate. Finishing poor. 7
11 GCS Relished having more space than usual and booted seven goals. 9
12 Adel Said to have tweaked knee during week and hurt calf first minute. Battled on. 3
14 NM Well held by Grima but delivery was poor. 3
15 Ess A mighty game with his unstoppable running and contested marking. 8
16 Bris Well held by Patfull and frustrated at times. Still had an input. 3
17 Syd Seemed to aggravate his on-going knee problem. 3
18 WB Rattled on three goals against Lake at the start to dictate terms for the day. 8
19 Coll Closely checked by Reid and poorly served by delivery. Still managed a say. 5
20 Melb Started well then hyper-extended knee and subbed off after 15 minutes. 1
