2017 Season

Played for : Geelong

1 Frem Great game. Beat Walters and when heat was really on in first half he was rock solid across half-back. 8
2 NM After beating Walters last week went to Lindsay Thomas and for the most part he had him covered. 6
3 Melb Had job on Garlett (one goal, seven effective disposals) and for third week did the job pretty well. Liking hard shadow role. 7
4 Haw Run of good form continues. Had Breust and others covered in a solid display. Only four of his 21 touches failed to hit target. 7
5 StK Didn’t have lock down match-up like previous weeks and relished space to win plenty of the ball. Goal came from a lucky 50. 7
6 Coll Took Elliott and given scoreboard actually did a reasonable job. Grabbed plenty of the ball himself to end among the best. 7
7 GCS Did what he could from the back half, although not as good as previous weeks; 15 effective disposals. 6
8 Ess Fumbled at times which proved critical in the wash-up. Didn’t hurt the Dons with any form of rebound. 3
9 WB First half solid (17 disposals) and helped set the tempo. Quieter second half but overall he had a positive impact. 7
10 Port Veteran used ball brilliantly. First half better than second but had an impact on the flow with 19 touches. 6
11 Adel Allowed loose at times and Crows paid the price as he mopped up everything that came his way; 27 possessions. 8
12 Bye.
13 WCE Did what he could down back but was sometimes caught out of position playing the role as last-line sweeper. 5
14 Frem Great effort down back. Defender with aplomb and won plenty of the ball to keep pushing team forward. 8
15 GWS Veteran defender provided some run and while disposal was off at times he did enough; 18 disposals and 343 metres gained. 6
16 Bris Played on a wing and racked-up 18 disposals with almost half in last quarter when game was in Geelong’s keeping. 5

19 Carl Back in after two weeks out and showed why team missed him with 29 disposals, five inside-50s and 500 metres gained. 8
20 Syd Veteran defender was busier than a one-armed wife hanging washing. Did at least look to go forward when he got it. 6
21 Rich Drifted forward to kick his 100th career goal in the second term. Enjoying a consistent season. Played well. 7
22 Coll Veteran defender made a solid contribution all day and got in the road at crucial times; 18 possessions. 6
23 GWS Farewell game at Simonds Stadium was typically strong with 18 touches and some handy link work. 6
QF Rich Veteran defender didn’t have a great game; 12 effective disposals and two tackles. 4
SF Syd Veteran extends career by at least one more week. Did what the situation required and did it pretty well. 6
PF Adel Struggled all nigh to alter the flow of the game. Great career didn’t end the way he would have hoped. 4

2016 Season

Played for : Geelong

1 Haw Kept Breust reasonably quiet and tried hard to provide some run from half back. 7
2 GWS Close to best. Won key one-on-ones and willing to leave his man and attack when he could. 7
3 Bris Subdued off half back but found his way into the game at times. Four inside-50s. 4
4 Ess Rebounded from half back but not his best game. Used footy well. 5
5 Port Sacrificed own game to hammer Wingard. Kept him to two kicks. 8
6 Calf.
7 WCE Relished the chance to slot a long goal and was a handy contributor. Good defensively. 6
8 Adel Went to Lynch and matched him well. Kept the Crow scoreless. 6
9 Coll Tried to create something off half back but influence not pronounced. 5
10 Carl Quiet game from the veteran. Lots of his touches amounted to very little at half back. 4
11 GWS Battled Greene in a great battle. Gave as good as he got despite Greene kicking three goals. 6
12 NM Harvey gave him nightmares in first half and then moved. Better after half time. 4
13 WB Stats not huge but his pressure and precision kicking handy when it was needed. 6
14 StK Rebound not as pronounced as it has been from defence. Steady without starring. 5
16 Syd Tried hard but made a few mistakes coming out of the back half. 5
17 Frem Celebrated 250th game with a solid contribution. Missed chance to kick a goal. 7
18 Adel Had to play a more defensive role on Lynch and conceded two goals. Quiet himself. 4
19 WB Timely return to form netted 20n effective disposals and four tackles. 6
20 Ess Quiet one. Just eight kicks and one tackle from half back. 4
21 Rested.
22 Bris Seemed refreshed after week off and provided some nice run from back half. 6
23 Melb Lack of sleep after birth of third child took edge off him. Ten effective disposals. 4
QF Haw Had to go to Rioli in second half after Breust ran him around in second term. 4
PF Syd Looked every bit his age and struggled with the intensity. Spot under pressure now. 2

2015 Season

2 Frem Tried hard and certainly not the worst but not as affective as he can be. 5

8 Carl Sub. Gathered confidence boosting possessions when thrown in after half time. 3
9 WCE Solid game given he’s a bit underdone. Used the ball well all night. 7
10 Ess Steady effort at half back. Hit target with 21 of his 24 touches. 7
11 Port Did a super job blanketing Monfries and won the battle comprehensively. 7
12 Melb Quiet day. Didn’t get enough ball to hurt the Demons at half back. 4
15 NM Two goals and some handy rebound from the back half. Among better Cats. 6
16 WB Mopped up well and wise head critical at times when he came off his man. 7
17 GWS Used the ball well from half back and great in first term (nine disposals). 6
18 Bris Finding feet after injury. Used ball well off half-back and ran hard to create. 7
19 Syd Brilliant with his rebound from half back. Used ball well every time he got it. 7
20 Haw Worked hard to provide some rebound – six inside-50s. 7
21 StK Steady out of defence but not a massive influence on game’s flow. One goal. 6
22 Coll Among Cats’ best. Attacked when he could from the back half. 6
23 Adel Arguably team’s best with ball use, run and creativity from half back. 8

2014 Season

1 Adel Five rebound 50s and four inside-50s to round out another creative effort. 7
2 Bris Celebrated game 200 with a steady display –five rebound 50s and nine marks. 7
3 Coll Elliott got off the chain to kick some goals on him. Created as usual at times. 5
4 WCE In everything until coach decided to sub him out late in the third term. 6
5 Haw Quiet first half then lifted in the third before being subbed out. 4

9 Frem Solid enough at half back after missing a few weeks. 6
10 NM Swept across half back to gather four rebound-50s and three inside-50s. 7
11 Syd Did well until accidental knee in back ended his night in third term. 4
12 Carl Good early when side under pump and provided a spark. Kicked a great goal. 7
13 StK Did as he pleased with run and rebound from the back half. Ball use first class. 7
14 GCS Did what he could as a rebounder but like fellow defenders got weary late. 6
15 Ess Rebounded brilliantly all night and made every possessions count. 7
16 WB Steady and polished from half back all match and used the ball well. 7
17 Melb Not asked to do much from the back half and kept in check by Dees. 4
18 GWS Didn’t have a huge influence from the back half but chimed in when needed. 5
19 NM Repelled most balls that came his way. Five inside-50s, three rebound 50s. 7
20 Frem Two running goals were a key in getting side out to a lead. Copped knock later. 7
21 Carl Blues nullified his influence well. Only one rebound and two inside-50s. 5
22 Haw Brilliant effort. Beat Breust and won plenty of ball from the back half. 8
23 Bris Looked to have one eye on next week. Only seven kicks, one inside-50. 4
QF Haw Did well on Breust but unable to provide any regular run or rebound. 4
SF NM Two finals have been well below his best. Sour end to a solid year. 3

Played for : Geelong

1 Haw Under siege but battled hard and among the best over four quarters. 8
2 NM Only five touches first half then lifted. Stepped up in final term when required. 5
3 Carl Rock solid again. Used the ball well from half back and used his body well. 7
4 Syd Solid all night across half back and among the best – 10 marks. 7
5 WB Run and rebound from the back half was first class. Used ball well to boot. 8
6 Rich Took McGuane at times and was handy off half back without starring. 6
7 Ess Bombers tried to drag him deep and it worked...for the first 40 minutes. Handy. 6
8 Coll One of few Cats to play a solid four quarters. Ball use a highlight. 8
9 Port Rebounded stoutly while minding a variety of players including Westhoff 7
10 GCS Four inside-50s and six rebound 50s a highlight of another good night. 7
11 GWS Provided some run from the back half and played a role without starring. 6
13 Bris Handy enough with seven inside-50s and some handy ball use. Faded slightly. 6
14 Frem Ran hard to be an option all night and was comfortably among the best. 7
15 Haw Reliable from half back as well as playing on Hale/Roughead. Key to win. 7
16 Melb Enjoyed a day off after being subbed out in third term following six disposals. 1
17 Adel Rotated through Otten/Lynch and solid all match. 7
18 StK Kicked long running goal early, which helped spark side. Played with poise. 7
19 NM Hardly sighted first half then lifted slightly but still well down. 4
20 Port Had three rebound and inside-50s and used the footy superbly. 7
21 WCE Run and playmaking off half-back a highlight. A key to setting up the win. 8
22 Syd From half back he had six inside-50s, three rebounds, 17 uncontested possessions. 8
23 Bris Rebound down a little on previous weeks but used the pill well. 6
QF Frem Cats’ best. Stood up all day and did all he could to stem the tide against. 8
SF Port Didn’t have the same run as previous week but good third quarter. 5

1 Frem Gave drive off a wing and was handy at times running off Pavlich. 7
2 Haw Crucial in final term when game was on the line. 6
3 NM Day ended before h/time after copping a hit which required 12 stitches. 1
4 Rich Couple of efforts late were critical – four rebound and inside 50s. 6
5 Bris Solid off half back and played his part when it was his turn to go. 6
6 Melb Kicked two great goals to ice a solid rebounding effort off half back. 6
7 Adel Probably one of the better performers on a day when hard to find. 6
8 Coll Five inside 50s and three rebound 50s to go with nine contested possessions. 7
9 WB Among best off half back. Particularly good when isolated one-on-one. 7
10 GWS Twenty of his disposals were kicks and did well hitting targets through traffic. 7
11 Carl What he did he did well off half back in a clean and steady display. 6
13 Syd Loose early but tightened up and ended as one of the Cats’ best. 7
14 Port Had Westhoff at times in unusual match up but did OK. Not much offensively. 4
15 GCS Loose at times but at least kept attacking. Played a role. 6
16 Coll When your half-back leads team for inside-50s (seven) it spells trouble. 6
17 Ess Had eight inside-50s off a wing and always a source of drive. 7
18 Adel OK first three terms then kicked two critical goals in last to seal victory. 6
19 Haw Didn’t have a huge attacking influence and gave away some frees late. 5
20 WCE Got a heap of the ball but disposal was wayward. 5
21 StK Had Goddard at times in good battle. He kept on giving without starring. 6
22 WB Hit target with everyone of his disposals to be among the best. 7
23 Syd Nullified successfully by Swans but chimed in well after half time. 5
EF Frem Tried hard and kicked two goals from a wing. Efficiency down a little. 6
