2016 Digest:   Ended up playing 18 senior games in 2015, which was more than would have been expected. Shoulder surgery limited his return and is making up ground in fitness.

2016 NAB Cup:   After post-season shoulder operation has been back training with the senior side recent weeks.

2016 Season

Played for : Carlton

1 Played in VFL trial against Richmond.
2 Played in VFL trial against Port Melbourne.
3 VFL Battled Minson/Campbell but wasn’t prominent for a veteran ruckman. -
4 Injured.
5 VFL Rarely sighted playing ruck. Struggling to find his feet after injury. -
6 VFL Best game of the year in the ruck and at least keep name in selection mix. -
7 Playing three ruckman is proving awkward and he’s not thriving at all.
8 Didn’t play for Northern Blues.
9 VFL Ruckman took three marks and had five clearances. No surprise if he gets a call up. -
10 VFL Bye. -
11 VFL Hardly sighted splitting time in the ruck with two teammates. Struggling for form. -
12 VFL Heap of hit-outs (33) but failed to get into the game in any other phase. -
13 VFL Bye. -
14 VFL Appears to be playing out time. Had very little impact on flow of the game. -
15 VFL Had 22 hit-outs and got a bit of the ball around the ground. Better. -
16 VFL OK with 212 hit-outs, 12 disposals and a goal in loss to Cats. -
17 VFL Battled hard for 22 hit-outs and five marks but overall influence negligible. -
18 VFL Ruck work was fair, but had one kick and one mark. Not good enough. -
19 VFL Seven tackles and five clearances in ruck but just playing out time. -
20 VFL Had 21 hit-outs but again rarely featured around the ground. -
21 VFL Bye. -
22 VFL Marked time with four kicks and 17 hit-outs. Gave very little. -
23 VFL Good in what is probably his final game in navy blue. 15 hit-outs and two goals. -

2015 Season

1 Rich Had main ruck role and toiled hard but beaten by Maric overall. 5
2 WCE Hammered in centre square by Naitanui. Not his favourite venue. 3
3 Ess Collected seven clearances in first half and eight for game. Battled hard. 6
4 StK Worked hard around ground but shaded in ruck. 5
5 Coll Kicked opening goal then had a very mixed bag. 4
6 Bris Battled manfully against Martin. Beaten in the end but not disgraced. 5
7 GWS Flogged in ruck by Mumford but worked hard at ground level. 4
8 Geel Minute of madness provided a highlight in double 50m penalty goal. 2
9 Syd Tried hard and won battle against Pyke. Never stopped trying. 6
10 Adel Beaten by Jacobs in the ruck and provided little presence around ground. 4
12 Port Thrashed by Lobbe in the ruck. One goal but well down. Five hit-outs to ad. 3
13 GCS Won plenty of ball and formed a strong tag-team with Kreuzer. Solid. 7
14 WB Provided support for Kreuzer but wasn’t a big factor. 4
15 Rich Tandem with Kreuzer worked well in patches but not a huge factor. 4

18 NM Back in team and was basically a spectator. 2
19 Coll Subbed out with just one touch against his former club. 1
20 VFL 14 hitouts but not really a factor. -
21 Didn’t play for Northern Blues.
22 GWS OK in ruck stints but didn’t take advantage of height difference in attack. 4
23 Haw Rucked and played forward. Minimal impact in both roles. 3

2014 Season

Played for : Carlton

1 PM Dominated the ruck contests. Impressive. -
2 Northern Blues didn’t play.
3 VFL Controlled the ruck and is pushing hard for an upgrade. -
4 VFL Rucked fairly well and continues to press for a call-up. -
5 VFL Good battle with Campbell in the ruck. Going well. -
6 VFL Got the better of his duel with Currie but onballers couldn’t capitalise. -
7 VFL Best for the Blues in loss to Coburg. Controlled the ruck. -
8 VFL Got on top in the ruck after Fitzpatrick went down. -
9 VFL Bye. -
10 VFL Got the better of Thurlow in the ruck and kicked a goal. OK. -
11 VFL Bye. -
12 VFL Even battle with the American, Holmes. Just five disposals. -
13 VFL Took on Elton and Griffiths and took the points. -
14 VFL Didn’t dominate, but worked hard to give Blues’ first use. -
15 VFL Got better as the game wore on to give midfielders first use. -
16 VFL Obliterated Pies’ rucks with 58 hitouts to set the tone. -
17 VFL Good battle with Wallace in the ruck. Had 35 hitouts. -
18 NM First game for third club and slotted in OK. Kicked goal from big mark. 5
19 Frem Battled the purple monster and made a mistake that cost late goal in defence. 4
20 GCS Dominated the hit-outs and solid around the ground. 6
21 Geel Ran ragged by Blicavs and then McIntosh softened him up in the ruck. 3
22 Port Can keep his head high, held his own against Matthew Lobbe with 22 hit-outs. 6
23 Ess Lifted in the third term after having colours lowered early. 26 hit-outs. 6

2012 Season

1 VFL OK in the ruck but didn’t dominate. -
2 VFL Solid ruck effort. Took a few good marks. -
3 Carl Might have got life in order but game still needs work. Three nice grabs. 3
4 VFL Started well but influence waned. -
5 VFL With Witts controlled the ruck and gave onballers first use. -
6 WB Rucked solo all night. OK at stoppages but not much drive around ground. 5
7 Bris Big-hearted effort in the ruck and kicked two goals. His best for some time. 6
8 VFL One of the Magpies best against Bendigo. Rucked well. -
10 GCS Dominated ruck and good around ground. Can he do it against good opp? 8
11 VFL Rucked against Spencer. Did OK without being dominant. -
13 VFL Lowered his colors in the ruck to Graham and Browne. -
14 VFL Strong game in the ruck. Controlled the clearances. -
16 VFL Smashed in the ruck by Stephenson. At the crossroads. -
17 VFL Beaten in the ruck and is really struggling. -
18 GWS Lost the hit-out battle with Giles who was also more damaging. 3
