1 Geel Tried hard down back. Won a heap of the footy early then faded as game dragged on. 5
2 Port Worked hard in defence but skill errors let him down. 5
3 WB Steady in defence. Didn’t shine but didn’t turn it over like players did last week. 5
4 Melb Veteran Docker shadowed Kent at times and was able to play a role defensively. Not much going the other way. 3
5 NM Needs to kick the ball better in defence. It puts the team under the pump. 5
6 WCE Gave away two free kicks to Darling which cost Freo goals. 4
7 Ess Contributed in defence with seven marks. 5
8 Rich Veteran defender struggled to impact either way. Others stepped up around him but not sighted. 2
9 Carl Made some costly errors. Lacking confidence. 4
10 Adel Too many costly turnovers in defence in the first term when the game was still a contest. 4

12 WAFL Okay without banging to door down for a senior recall. -

2016 Season

Played for : Fremantle

1 WB Played customary role down back but the Bulldogs bypassed him well to stop intercepts. 4
2 GCS Gold Coast’s forwards had too much space and Ibbotson couldn’t attack. 3
3 WCE Not himself. Too many errors. Missed targets and dropped marks. 4
4 NM Freed up at times in the back half but wasn’t able to shut down space like he did last year. 4

6 WAFL Responded to being dropped with 22 disposals, nine marks. -
7 GWS Conceded height and was left in a no win situation a lot of the time. 4
8 Haw Steady defender had a low key game. 5
9 Rich Still struggling to have a big impact on games. 5
10 StK Not the worst but often found himself stretched by big forwards in contests. 5

2015 Season

Played for : Fremantle

1 Port Played tall. Did his job and kept Port’s big men quiet. 5
2 Geel Forced to play tall at times in defence and did the job well. Helped by midfield. 6
3 WCE Developed into one of Freo’s most important players down back. 7
4 Syd Key player in defence where his interceptions were vital. 7
5 Melb Comprehensively outplayed Watts. 7
6 Ess Solid defensive display without standing out. 5
7 WB Had Crameri in his back pocket being sent to Dickson late. 6
8 NM Took eight marks and the Roos found it tough to get the ball past him. 6
9 Adel Great tussle with Lynch. 5
10 Rich Part of cobbled-together back six that had a rough night. 5
11 GCS Marshalled well across half back and disposal was efficient. 7
13 Coll Solid in defence. Clean hands and play reading a key in the victory. 8
14 Bris Further pushed All-Australian claims down back, mostly as the spare. 7
15 Haw Unable to free himself up in dangerous positions in defence. 4
16 Carl Good in defence. Took five marks. Gave little away. 6
17 Rich Gave away size to Maric when the Tiger pushed forward. Key spoil late. 5

3 Haw Popped shoulder in simple spoiling attempt. 2

5 WAFL Earlier than expected return and was solid with 24 touches. -

7 WAFL Good performance with 23 possessions. -
8 WAFL Worked hard for 25 touches but not always polished. -

11 WB The sub. Had 11 touches after coming on in the third term. 3

5 Rich Really stood up across half back and marked strongly. 7
6 GCS Enjoyed his role as loose man and punished the Suns. 7
7 Coll Mopped up everything in defence as the loose man. His best game in a few years. 8
8 Syd Eleven of his possessions were contested and he kicked a goal in a solid effort. 5
9 Melb Another nice game and was able to get free behind the ball. 7
10 Adel Unsung midfielder who gets the job done week in week out. 5
12 Bris Reliable in defence across four quarters. 7
13 NM Won marks deep in back half and played his part. 6
14 Geel Faded after a bright first half. Used ball well when others didn’t. 6
