2016 Season

1 NM Under-sized at times on Ben Brown but held his own. Not much offensive output. 4
2 Port Didn’t have much opposition to deal with as most Port forwards struggled. 5
3 Rich Strong game in the defensive half. Swapped between a few opponents but attacked ball hard. 6
4 Syd Had the better of Robinson but struggled against Heeney. 4
5 Haw Toiled honestly against his old side. 5
6 Frem Kept Mayne to one goal, job done. 6
7 WB Had a variety of opponents to contend with and was horrific. Plugged away to best of his ability. 4
8 Geel Reads the play well, but not involved enough. 4
9 GCS Kept opponent quiet and bobbed up when he needed to. 4
10 GWS Completely shut out Johnson. 7
11 StK One of the few Crows defenders outplayed by his opponent. 4
12 WCE He and Brown did a great job on LeCras. 6
14 NM Unlucky to have Thomas kick three goals on him. 5
15 Melb Garlett troubled him as did Watts. Struggled to find the right match-up. 3
16 Carl Battled away across half back and thwarted a number of Blue forward forays. 6
17 Coll Did the marking job on whichever Collingwood midfielder went forward. 5
18 Geel Defended pretty well when caught one-on-one. Solid performance. 6
19 Ess Unflappable defender, took several uncontested intercept marks in defence. 7
20 Bris Towelled up Schache and won plenty of his own footy. 7
21 Frem Rolled through several forwards. Did his job. 5
22 Port Aaron Young got the better of him with three goals. 5
23 WCE One of the few Crows to turn in a good performance. 7
EF NM Under-sized on Daw and it hurt him at times. Still played a role down back. 6
SF Syd Out-muscled down back. Battled hard but not a factor. 4

2015 Season

1 NM Excellent debut from the ex-Hawk, was masterful as the third tall defender. 6
2 Coll Serviceable down back and marked strongly. Used it well. 6

5 Port Unfortunately given the tough task to mind Schulz, and was actually OK. 4
6 GCS Held his own against bigger opponents and rebound was good. 6
7 StK Started on Bruce but was outplayed. 5
8 GWS Had a troublesome afternoon in minding the athletic McCarthy. 4
9 Frem Staking his claim as the recruit of the year so far. 7
10 Carl Undersized at times on Henderson, Casboult or Kreuzer. Battled. 3
12 Haw Classy defender celebrated his 50th AFL game. 6
13 Bris Forgettable start when Bourke kicked two early goals. Good otherwise. 5

16 SANFL Had a quiet afternoon in return from injury. -
17 SANFL Played lockdown and effectively quelled Bloods star Beech. -
18 SANFL Outstanding in defence. His intercept marking was a feature. -
19 SANFL Disappointing in tricky conditions. -
20 SANFL Polished with 23 disposals, six rebound 50s from last line in defence. -
21 SANFL Wonderful in defence, intercepting and rebounding brilliantly. -

2014 Season

Played for : Hawthorn

1 Bris Massive task on Brown. Tried hard but outsized in a lot of contests. 3
2 Ess Gave away 11cm to Carlisle but stuck to the task brilliantly. 6
3 Frem Given big job on Pavlich and stuck to his guns. 5
4 GCS Again had jobs on taller forwards but happy to do it to get a game. 6
5 Geel Gave away 10cm and 15kg to Hawkins (five goals) and got monstered. 3
6 VFL Responded well to senior omission. -
7 VFL Best for Box Hill in defence with 28 disposals, five marks. -
8 Syd Under-sized on Tippett then Franklin. Coach is just killing him with match-ups. 4
10 VFL Had 17 touches and was dependable as always in defence. -
11 GWS Great job on Patton and used his speed to get off his opponent when he could. 5
12 WCE Part of a backline that rarely looked like losing control of the Eagles. 5
13 Carl Battled Waite and again rose to the challenge. Played him brilliantly. 6
14 VFL Played on Fitzpatrick and got a lot of aerial support. -

16 VFL Led Box Hill with 23 disposals down back. Among best. -
17 VFL Didn’t get a lot of the ball but was strong in defence. -

1 Rested.
2 VFL Solid display at half back with 20 possessions. -
3 VFL Stood out in defence with his courage and attack on the ball. -
4 VFL OK at half back but not overly influential. -
5 VFL Stood Edwards, who kicked five, but never gave in. -
6 VFL Rarely beaten down back. A rock in Hawks defence. -
7 VFL Bye. -
8 VFL Defended strongly at half back and provided good drive. -
9 GCS Desperate to stake a claim. Stint on Ablett was a stretch for him. 4
10 Melb Sub. Joined the party with six touches from half back. 1
12 VFL Directed traffic well at half-back. Good at this level.
13 VFL Solid across half back all day. Marshaled the troops. -
14 VFL Had his hands full with Addison who ended with four goals. -
15 VFL Intercepted well down back (seven marks) and shut down Paine. -
16 Port Late call up for Franklin and justified his position with a solid display. 5
17 WB Consummate defender, great closing speed. Missed a set shot from eight metres. 4
18 VFL Solid effort across half-back. Reliable at this level. -
19 VFL Defended well as always. Provided good aerial support. -
20 VFL Starred down back and kept Crameri quiet. -
21 VFL 21 touches in defence and consistently chopped off Tiger attacks. -
22 VFL Compiled yet another strong game in defence. In great form. -
23 VFL Starred again with 25 possessions and nine marks across half back. -
SF VFL Again did well down back. Competed hard and was rarely beaten. -
PF VFL Proved impassable in the back half. Rarely gets beaten at VFL level. -

2012 Season

2 VFL Strong game at half back. Attacked the ball vigorously -
3 Adel Couple of bad turnovers then drifted forward to kick goal. 4

5 Syd Not a major influence. Tracked McGlynn early. 4

7 VFL Worked hard across half back. -
8 VFL Swept well across half back. Consistent effort. -
11 VFL Took the game on and ran hard and straight. -
12 VFL Played at both ends but looked better in defence. -
14 VFL Great game at half back saw him earn BOG honors. -
15 GWS Late inclusion, had a lively opening term with 8 possessions. Finished with 11. 4
16 WB Subbed on to join the romp in the final quarter. 1
17 Coll Ran with Swan at times in the second half but no match. 3
