2014 Digest:   Battled plantar fasciitis in recent months but back in training and available for selection. Not yet made it to the line for a NAB match so he will have to push his way in via the VFL. Played seven games last year but still a fringe performer at this stage.

2014 NAB Cup:   A depth defender who has had range of minor injury issues. First hitout was in the Friday VFL practice game.

2014 Season

Played for : Western Bulldogs

1 PM Did what was required down back. Solid. -
2 PM OK in defence without starring. -
3 VFL Did well in defence against an overwhelmed attack. -
4 VFL OK down back without being a standout. -
5 VFL Competed hard in defence and rarely lost a contest. -
6 VFL Didn’t have much to do down back in massive win. -
7 Rested.
8 VFL Solid enough in defence against Sandringham. -
9 VFL Bye. -
10 VFL 17 possessions and three rebounds in defence. -
11 VFL Bye. -
12 VFL Had 13 touches down back and defended strongly. -
13 Coll Good defensive job playing on the second and third talls. 5
14 Port Struggled to contain the in-form Westhoff. 4
15 Melb Used down back and was brave at times. Did his job fairly well. 5
16 Geel Kersten kicked an early one on him and was moved. Eventually subbed out. 1
17 GCS Provided nothing offensively but did a good job on Day down back. 6
18 Ess Had Ambrose for long periods and did OK on him. Battled away. 4
19 Haw Spirited display and ended up going to rampant Roughead. 5
20 StK On Stanley who was kept under tight rein. 5
21 NM Had his hands full with Brown early. 4
22 Syd Part of under siege back six and wasn’t a factor. 2
23 GWS Led a merry dance by Stewart in first half and subbed out. 1

PF VFL Did a solid job down back after a down effort last week. -

2013 Season

Played for : Western Bulldogs

1 PM Tried hard down back under a bit of pressure. -
2 VFL Bye. -
3 VFL Solid game in Williamstown’s big win over Coburg. -
4 VFL Defended fairly well against Werribee’s star forwards. -
5 Geel Struggled at times when stranded one-on-one and just battled. 3
6 WCE Surprisingly started at full-forward. No impact. 2
7 NM Alternated between attacking and defensive jobs. 4
8 VFL Controlled the back half. Strong one-on-one. Good game. -
9 Quiet game overall but did push forward for a rare goal.
10 VFL Had his hands full for most of the afternoon. -
11 VFL Bye. -
12 VFL Among the Seagulls best. In decent touch at present. -
13 VFL Solid citizen down back again. Competed hard. -
14 VFL Struggled down back and was moved forward late. -
15 VFL Bye. -
16 VFL Moved onto White after his fast start and kept him nearly kick-less. -
17 VFL Battled hard in defence and can hold his head high. -
18 VFL Did well in defence and took some good intercept marks. -
19 VFL Good again down back to keep up the pressure on senior defenders. -
20 Carl Did well in defence against his former club and is developing nicely. 6
21 Adel Did some tough things and defended well at times on Lynch/Johnston. 6
22 Bris Had zero impact offensively. Didn’t touch the ball after half time. 1
23 Melb Did what he had to do on the back-line before being subbed late in third quarter. 5
QF VFL Reliable performer in defence once again. -
SF VFL Not his best game but competed hard until the final siren. -

2 VFL Rebounded well from defence. Good effort. -
3 VFL Another good outing in his new colors. -
4 Melb Late inclusion for his first game. Trying to re-start career. 4
5 GWS Tough day at the office but kept trying. 4
6 Coll Worked hard on Dawes but was out-muscled later in game. 5
7 NM Great game containing Edwards. Closing speed and spoiling first class. 7
8 GCS Competed well down back but conditions helped. 5
9 Geel Did a fine job in quelling Podsiadly and his stocks continue to rise. 7
10 Syd Austin had a tough day down back against Sydney’s rotating forward line. 2
12 Port Did his job with the minimum of fuss which is all coach is after. 5
13 Bris Merrett kicked three on him by quarter time. First time this year been beaten. 4
15 Frem Had the task on Mayne and struggled at times. 3
17 Carl Dependable enough, but lack of understanding with Lake in the air at times. 5
