2017 Season

1 Syd Effort was there and numbers suggest as much; 13 contested possessions and 11 tackles. 8
2 Frem Won six clearances and had 10 inside-50’s, his grunt work was intimidating. 8
3 Adel In form midfielder was everywhere, laying tackles and getting to contest after contest. 7
4 GWS Really worked hard in midfield to continue strong start to the season. 21 possessions, but winning more inside footy. 7
5 Carl Laid a game high 14 tackles, going under the radar as the Power’s most consistent midfielder. 8
6 Bris Booted opening goal of the match and was busy throughout the night. 7
7 WCE Big game in the middle with five tackles, five clearances and five inside-50’s and a goal. 7
8 GCS Brilliant early with 19 first-half possessions, then quietened. Job was done though. 7
9 Bye.
10 Geel Went to Selwood at times but that was a tough task. Grabbed 19 disposals himself and laid 10 tackles. 6
11 Haw Celebrated game 200 in style. Led team in disposals (34), had seven clearances and five inside-50s to be clearly among the best. 8
12 Ess Tried hard throughout in midfield crunch. One of the few Power players who can hold their head up. 6
13 Bris Won seven clearances, had ten inside-50’s and laid eight tackles, a monster game in midfield. 8
14 Coll Midfielder didn’t have a huge game but offered something with seven tackles and 15 possessions. 5
15 Rich Did the job on Trent Cotchin and pushed forward to kick Port Adelaide’s first goal of the game. 7
16 WCE The dominant midfielder with 31 disposals, eight tackles and eight clearances. 8
17 NM Set the tone in the first term with seven clearances, winning three in a row to put Port Adelaide in the box seat. 8
18 Melb Butchered the footy in the first half. Got going later on to help Port work back into the game. 6
19 StK Busy in first half and kicked a big goal late. 6
20 Adel Surprisingly went to Matt Crouch instead of Sloane and Matt ended the leading disposal winner on the ground. 6
21 Coll Returned to the form we all know he is capable of after a disappointing performance in the Showdown. 7

2016 Season

1 StK Three goals was just reward as he made amends from a costly early turnover. 7
2 Adel Five inside-50s but failed to contribute much else to the Port cause. 5
3 Ess Just about ready to explode, his form incline is on the way up. 6
4 GWS Failed to stamp his authority in an underwhelming display. 3
5 Geel Niggled Cats for a lot of the night but struggled. Six disposals in the second half not enough. 4
6 Rich Hard running a feature but didn’t have a big influence on end result. 5
7 Bris Eight tackles and a goal, playing his role for the team. 6
8 Carl Lowered colors to Gibbs in midfield battle. Just couldn’t get hands on ball enough. 4
9 WCE Another player on the verge of a breakout performance. 6
10 Melb Excellent job on Viney and got under the young star’s skin from early on. Had 20 touches himself. 7
11 Coll OK in midfield but didn’t have the impact of others. Missed a few targets by foot. 5
12 WB Did a tremendous job on Macrae, and won plenty of his own footy. 7
13 Frem Trounced by Neale. 5
15 Rich Had the run-with role on Martin and didn’t disappoint. 7
16 Haw Rushed to hospital after hitting his head on the ground. By all reports pulled up OK. 2

18 GWS Left the ground three times with the blood rule; didn’t stop him kicking four goals. 7
19 Bris Never far from the action and effective at both ends. Won the battle with Zorko. 7
20 Syd Ran with Hannebery in first half then tag was dropped. Not one to remember. 4
21 Melb Excellent performance on Viney. 7
22 Adel Played predominantly forward rather than his usual run-with role of late. 7
23 GCS Good four quarter effort and booted a crucial late goal. 7

2015 Season

1 Frem Brilliant. Kept running and had 34 disposals. Seemed everywhere. 8
2 Syd Never stopped running between 50-metre arcs. 7
3 NM Three goals proved crucial – as did his run and work around the contests. 8
4 Haw Continued rich vein of form with another impressive performance. 7
5 Adel Controlled game for long periods, could also have won the medal. 8
6 WCE Battled on admirably after a knock to the head and a corkie. 6
7 Bris Unable to get into the game at any stage. Just 16 touches. 4
8 Rich Not hurting oppositions as much as we are accustomed to. 6
9 Melb Rivalled Boak for best afield honors with a power-packed midfield effort. 8
10 WB Rarely plays a poor game, just continues to win the footy. 7
11 Geel Among Power’s best with five clearances, five inside-50s and great run. 7
12 Carl What he did was good but not enough. Eight touches in final quarter. 6
14 Syd Not sure what his issue is but well short of best. Just a player at the moment. 4
15 Coll Started nervously but redeemed himself with four critical clearances. 6
16 Adel Six inside-50s, three clearances, five tackles, another great day at the office. 7
17 Ess Lined up on wing against Browne and had a solid game. 6
18 StK Started shakily but won his fair share of the footy through the midfield. 7
19 WB Nine inside 50s and four rebound 50s showed he was around at both ends. 6
20 GWS Has struggled this season, and still out of sorts here. 5
21 Haw Good outing against top opposition. Played his part in midfield. 6
22 GCS Had a good first half before quietening down in the second. 7
23 Frem Played until the very last siren, a consistent performer. 7

2014 Season

1 Carl Curnow neutralised him to a degree but still had 16 touches and a goal. 5
2 Adel Besides finding plenty of footy, ran with Dangerfield in the second half. 7
3 NM Worked hard with seven tackles and 10 inside 50s while getting some strong attention. 7
4 Bris Five clearances, six inside 50s and a goal after the final siren. 8
5 WCE Starred in midfield again against his old mob. Two goals capped off a fine night. 8
6 Geel Huge around footy with seven clearances, five inside-50s, five tackles. 8
7 GWS Quiet day with just 15 touches in nation’s capital. 5
8 Frem One of the few Port players to be better in first half than second. 5
10 Haw Six tackles, five clearances and four inside-50s. 8
11 Melb A rare stinker. Had just three touches to half time and only slightly improved. 3
12 StK Stand-in captain laid nine tackles, had five clearances and four inside-50s. 7
13 Syd Comprehensively got the better of a star in Kennedy. 40 touches a career high. 9
14 WB Not as influential as previous weeks but still damaging with less touches. 6
15 Adel Gave the Power hope with a goal late in the fourth term. 6
16 Ess Down on form but still producing good numbers. 6
17 Rich Unable to exert any real influence in midfield. 4
18 Melb Played his heart out as usual, unfortunately his kicking let him down at times. 6
19 Coll The early season run appears to be gone. Tried hard but influence down. 6
20 Syd Missed two chances he usually buries running inside 50. 7
21 GCS Up and down afternoon. One of the few Power players to start well. 5
22 Carl Did more of the grunt work around the stoppages laying seven tackles. 5
23 Frem OK but couldn’t contain Neale when shifted onto him. 6
EF Rich Two kicks in third term for two goals, the goal from the boundary was class. 6
SF Frem Head-to-head with Fyfe at times and at least held his own. Key touches late. 6
PF Haw Came off the bench to link very well through midfield. Influential night. 7

2013 Season

1 Melb Instrumental from start to finish. One of the league’s most improved players. 8
2 GWS Dangerous and constant driver in engine room in 100th x game. 7
3 Adel Finally got his first Showdown under his belt at his third attempt. 6
4 GCS Played mostly off half back and accumulated plenty of the ball. 6
5 WCE Playing more as a deep midfielder but creating plenty of havoc for oppositions. 7
6 NM Steady worker all day. 5
7 Rich Playing more as a rebounding defender under Ken Hinkley’s new regime. 7
8 Carl Better after the main break and kicked a great running goal in the last term. 6
9 Geel Disposal efficiency of 42% in first half not good enough. Hardly sighted later. 4
10 WB Good early and provided a great link, but influence waned in second half. 6
12 GWS Seemed to be always in acres of space. Good numbers by a much-improved player. 7
13 Syd Acting captain in Travis Boak’s absence and was masterful. 9
14 Coll Six inside 50s, four clearances and a goal from the powerful midfielder. 8
15 Ess Has become a star of the competition. Just knocked up winning the ball. 8
16 Haw Worked tirelessly all game in the midfield and kicked a good goal. 7
17 StK Had the better of his opponents early in a strong night. 7
18 Bris Had Raines stick to him like glue but still played his part in the win. 5
19 Adel Not as influential as previous games but more than serviceable. 6
20 Geel Worked hard back and forward to be an option. Laid team-high nine tackles. 7
21 GCS Often gets off the leash as his teammates are stuck with the heavy tags. 8

23 Carl Almost the match winner with four splendid goals and five clearances. 8

2 Ess Good again for new side. Won nine of 19 possessions in contested fashion. 6

4 Coll Quiet first half but got going after half time. Kicked 1.2 from 21 disposals. 6
5 Adel Kicked two goals and had seven inside 50s in his first Showdown. 7
6 Rich One of Port’s better players with 15 contested possessions. 8
7 Frem Laid nine tackles and had 22 disposals. 6
8 NM Super game from the talented midfielder, five clearances and three inside 50s. 7
9 GCS Chipped in with two goals to go with his strong work in the midfield. 7
10 Carl Laid a game high 14 tackles along with five clearances and four inside 50s. 7
11 Haw Laid 10 tackles and had five inside 50s, did kick out on full running into goal. 6
