1 Syd Deployed in defence but pivotal piece of play was a goal with four minutes remaining that sealed victory. 6

4 GWS Freed up in defence for long periods and didn’t have the same impact as Haynes at the other end. 5

7 WCE Needed to be more accurate with his kicking and take some chances across halfback. 5
8 GCS Didn’t feast like many teammates, but didn’t make many mistakes either. So-so. 4

10 Geel Not sure where his footy is at but impact is at level where a spell in the SANFL is not far away. Seven effective disposals. 3
11 Haw Cruised around off half back and played one of better games for the year. Used footy well and won plenty of it; 24 touches. 7
12 Ess Freed up at times behind the ball, but had no impact – despite the ball spending long periods in Bomber attacking 50. 3
13 Bris Despite a long bomb from outside 50, is just treading water with his form at the moment. 5
14 Coll Played off half back and played one of his better games of the year. Hit targets and attacked the ball with vigour. 8
15 Rich Left the game in the third term with a corkie when he collided with Dylan Grimes. 5
16 WCE Kicked a booming goal and had 16 disposals. Bobbed in and out. 5
17 NM Played across halfback or the plus one in defence and was clinical with the footy in hand. 6
18 Melb Worked into the game and had sure hands in third term. Had hamstring tightly taped. 5
19 StK Looked to be in trouble with hamstring early in game but returned to field and helped make a difference. 6
20 Adel Was good enough to thwart many Crows attacks but couldn’t stop the avalanche of inside 50’s. 5
21 Coll Return to form across halfback where he reads the play so well. 6
22 WB Physically asserted himself on the game and stood tall when his team needed him. His best game in a long time. 8
23 GCS Mopped up every loose ill-directed ball from the Suns in the Port defensive 50. 6
EF WCE Played at half back and also gave away size to Darling when opposed to the Eagle tall. Copped heavy knock in extra time. 5

2016 Season

1 StK At his aggressive best laying nine tackles and driving the ball forward with regularity. 7
2 Hamstring.
3 Hamstring.
4 GWS Couldn’t impact the game until the second half when the game was all over. 4
5 Geel Two kicks. That’s right, two – for the entire game. Hard to believe. 1
6 Rich Depth of kicking at times was pivotal to gain positional edge. Crucial when it mattered. 7
7 Bris Still going in hard in the last term with the four points already won. 7
8 Carl Worked into the game after a slow start to be one of Port’s best. 7
9 WCE Received a heavy knock to his right shoulder and a badly corked thigh. 5
10 Melb Somehow was allowed to roam free at half-back for much of the day and used space to hurt Dees. 7
11 Coll Drifted across half back and helped halt Collingwood attacks. Good outing. 7
12 WB With the game on the line in the last term failed to make an impact. 5

15 Rich Playing more as a defender where he can utilise his elite kicking skills. 5

2015 Season

1 Frem Played more as a backman. Tired after half time. 6
2 Syd Needed to impact the game more and use his prodigious talent. 5
3 NM Did most of his work by hand and kicking was a bit off. Played his part though. 6
4 Haw Laid nine tackles and pushed forward for a wonder goal in the first term. 6
5 Adel Pushed forward for two goals. 6
6 WCE Lots of disposals but not hurting the opposition as much as he should. 6
7 Bris Never stopped trying but let down by seven ineffective kicks. 6
8 Rich The Hammer is down on form for the moment. 5
9 Melb 20 possession, a goal and laid nine tackles – a great sign for Port fans. 7
10 WB Playing his 100th game and was good. 6
11 Geel Still well short of his best. Not having the same penetration as he can. 5
12 Carl Two clearances and five inside-50s not enough from the star. Can do more. 6
14 Syd Just looks off in a lot of what he does. Rarely impacted the flow. 6
15 Coll Sacrificed his own game to run with Pendlebury at times. 5
16 Adel Played a lot deeper than usual, fantastic across half back. 7

18 StK Relishing his role at half back where he can utilise his great kicking power. 7

21 Haw Drifted up into midfield from forward flank. Used ball well when it mattered. 7
22 GCS Big effort across four quarters. Applied plenty of pressure through middle. 8
23 Frem Has found his niche as the playmaker across half back. 7

2014 Season

1 Carl Class around the pill stood out – 21 disposals and two goals a handy day. 7
2 Adel Showdown medallist was tremendous all game, kicked a goal in last term. 8
3 NM Two critical goals in the third, the second of which was a quality snap. 7
4 Bris A relatively quiet afternoon given his usual high standards. 5
5 WCE Had 20 touches and kicked an important goal at the start of the final term. 6
6 Geel Kept midfield wheels turning with creative run and superior run. 8

8 Frem Laid a game-high nine tackles. Kept applying pressure. 6
10 Haw Two goals at the start of fourth quarter to stop the Hawks’ resistance. 5

12 StK Made up for an error kicking in to launch a bomb from way outside 50. 8
13 Syd Injured early and was subbed out. 1
14 Ankle.
15 Adel Struggled in his first game back from an ankle injury. 4
16 Ess Did his best to get side over the line with eight clearances, five inside-50s. 7
17 Rich Ball use and penetrative kicking was superb at times. Just needed to get it more. 7
18 Melb Consistent performance without excelling. 6
19 Coll Four goals from a midfielder was a fine return. Easily among the best. 8
20 Syd Four inside-50s and three scoring assists for the A-grade midfielder. 6
21 GCS Got better as the game wore on and was very influential in the final term. 7
22 Carl With no direct tagger let off leash with four inside50s and four goal assists. 8
23 Frem Productive and kept generating attacks from middle. 6
EF Rich Put a scare in coaches box with a spot of cramp in last term, but is fine. 5
SF Frem Huge performance with four-quarter consistency. Eight clearances. 8
PF Haw Ball use was exquisite at times off half back and attacked the ball strongly. 6

1 Melb Simply sublime. His kicking skills were a step above the rest; two great long goals. 9
2 GWS Key midfielder subdued overall by Palmer. 3
3 Adel Without injury undoubedly one of the most talented midfielders in the AFL. 8
4 GCS Three-goal second quarter underlined just how good this kid is. 9
5 WCE Deserved winner of the Peter Badcoe Medal for best afield. 9
6 NM Totally shut down by Bastinac. 2
7 Rich Struggling with the hard tags. 4
8 Carl Played mostly across half back and could have provided more. 5
9 Geel Used across half back and while he won some footy not damaging. 6
10 WB OK early but Griffen just kept on finding the ball. Beaten comprehensively in the end. 5
12 GWS Shadowed by Townsend and finally broke free when the game was in hand. 6
13 Syd Struggled early but was instrumental in the last term. 6
14 Coll Not as damaging as previous weeks but still important to the game plan. 6
15 Ess Didn’t have big numbers, but kicked two outstanding goals to give Port a sniff. 6
16 Haw Not his best afternoon with Lewis following him closely. 3
17 StK Jones tagged him but he was still an incisive contributor. 6
18 Bris Brilliant all afternoon contributing six inside 50s. 8

3 Syd Whether the wing or half back he is starting to live up to his potential. 8
4 Coll Did nothing first half (8 disp.) but lifted big time to end with 24. 6
5 Adel Not at his silky best but OK. 5
6 Rich Found plenty of the footy but his delivery wasn’t always on target. 6
7 Frem Quiet. Only managed 13 possessions. 4
8 NM Stood up well in the last term when the game needed to be won. 6
9 GCS Worked into the game after an indifferent start. 5
