2017 Season

1 Rich Rotated ruck/forward and moved well. Ended with two goals and gave a contest. 6
2 Melb Took it right up to Gawn at the stoppages and around the ground. Just shaded in the end, but gave as good as he got. 7
3 Ess Eight clearances and 30 hit-outs reflective of his effort and intensity all afternoon in great battle with Leuenberger. 8
4 GCS Beaten in the ruck by Witts and was disappointing around the ground with his ability to find the ball. 4
5 Soreness.
6 Syd Two goals in final term helped put the Swans away. Up to that point had battled manfully in the ruck against Sinclair. 6
7 Coll Had the early edge on Grundy and wound up level on hit-outs (29-30) so call the contest a tie. 5
8 StK Huge game. Won a heap of ball around ground and was a big reason why the Blues broke even in the clearances. 8
9 Frem Battled hard against Sandilands. Had 22 possessions and took five marks. 6
10 NM Having a wonderful season. Beat Goldstein in the ruck, and around ground. His worth ethic was super laying a game high nine tackles. 8
11 Bye.
12 GWS Huge game from the ruckman. Athleticism worried Mumford all day and was among best in 150th game. 8
13 GCS Lion hearted in the ruck all night, and took some critical defensive marks. 8
14 Rich Has to be working his way into All-Australian calculations. Towelled up Nankervis in ruck duels and around ground. 9
15 Adel Won the ruck contests and the match-up around the ground against Sam Jacobs. 7
16 Melb Great game. Gave Gawn a bath and was able to gather 18 disposals, four clearances, seven tackles and kicked a goal. 8
17 WB Huge again in the ruck. All Australian certainly not out of the equation given current streak of form; five clearances. 8
18 Bris Intriguing battle with Martin. Oddly, was Blues second highest disposals by half time. 6
19 Geel Slow start but worked into the game in the second term before being knocked out by a Dangerfield tackle. 5
20 Ess Misjudged the flight of the ball a lot early but monstered Bellchambers. Eight clearances, seven tackles and 15 touches. 8
21 WCE Good contest with Vardy. Neither man dominated. Kreuzer won more of the ball. 6
22 Haw His battle with McEvoy was epic. Another tractor like performance. Last quarter goal was pivotal. 7
23 Syd Worked his backside off again. Collected a staggering nine clearances to go with his 16 disposals and 37 hit outs. 8

2016 Season

1 Rich Got hands on ball early, including a goal but then slowed up. Showed importance though. 5
2 Syd Won hit-outs but had very little influence around the ground. 4
3 GCS Shouldered most of the ruck work in a fairly even battle with Nicholls. 5
4 WB Took first mark midway through third term. Better after half time but not a huge impact. 4
5 Frem Held his own rucking. Didn’t do much around the ground. 4
6 Ess Three contested marks but didn’t find enough ball to do any real damage. 4
7 Coll Main rucking duties in absence of Phillips and got the Blues rolling forward. Some tap-work superb. 6
8 Port Hurt knee and spent time in rooms but returned to play a strong role in the final term. 6
9 Knee.
10 Geel Got through a power of work in the ruck and laid 12 tackles to boot. Great effort. 7
11 Bris Didn’t return after half time after copping a head blow and falling ill during the break. 2
12 StK Lowered colours to Hickey in ruck, but kept trying to apply pressure. 5
14 GWS Contributed well in the ruck (28 hit-outs) and was OK resting forward. 5
15 Coll Won some hit-outs but beaten by Grundy around the ground. Down on form. 4
16 Adel Horrible game. Two marks and no presence. Got to be better than that. 1
17 WCE Struggled to influence the flow of the game but did have seven clearances. 4
18 Syd Solid display in the ruck (23 hit-outs) and took six marks (two contested) around the ground. 5
19 Haw A workhorse performance. Provided a handy target when forward. 6
20 StK Started forward then went into the ruck. Beaten by Hickey and had little impact. 4
21 Bris Won the ruck duel against Martin and also performed well in general play. 6
22 Melb Rucked and went forward. Broke even with Gawn. 6
23 Ess Looked better forward than in the ruck. Solid without shining. 5
