2017 Season

1 Carl Took care of Casboult which was his main task on the night. Did his job. 6
2 Coll Took White and had a generally hard night chasing the in-form Magpie. Stuck to his guns. 4
3 WCE Up against Kennedy all game and kept him to two goals. Surprisingly good effort against the Coleman medallist. 7
4 Bris Combined well with Rance to build a wall in the last line of defence. 6
5 Melb Started back on Hogan and was okay, then shifted forward at times when Dees lost talls to injury. 4
6 Adel Tried his heart out but could not contain the brilliance of Tex Walker. 4
7 WB Has improved to be a handy footballer in defence and was strong in contests. 6
8 Frem Took Kersten for long periods and he caused him a few troubles. Had his moments in what was a mixed bag. 5
9 GWS Finally looks the part as a quality key defender. Took 10 marks and did his job down back. 7
10 Ess Took Daniher for periods and steady enough. One goal-line fumble cost his team a goal but otherwise okay. Marked ball well. 7
11 NM Defensively sound again and had Waite covered all night. Really starting to come of age as a defender. 7

13 Syd Excellent in the air down back with 13 marks. Developed in a fine key defender. 8
14 Carl Had job on Casboult and had hands full with his marking at stages. Okay, but not his best this year. 5
15 Port Kept Charlie Dixon to one goal and provided plenty of offensive footy with six rebound-50’s. 6
16 StK Hands full with tall Saint attack, but still marked strongly at stages. 5
17 Bris Marked well again at centre half back and kept Lions talls fairly quiet. In good nick. 6
18 GWS Defender had a few shaky moments early but then settled into the game. Did his bit without starring. 5
19 GCS Strong game down back once again. Developed into a fine player. 7
20 Haw Took Schoenmakers to the cleaners and put him on some sort of spin rinse. Solid again. 6
21 Geel Battled hard against Stanley but was one of three Tigers not to lay a tackle. 5
22 Frem Freo’s forwards battled to get the ball and he played a big role in that. 7
23 StK Was able to keep Riewoldt out of the game and was steady all afternoon; 15 disposals. 6
QF Geel Matched to Hawkins and did well in keeping him to one goal and 10 effective disposals. 6
PF GWS Copped an early knock, but soldiered on down back and was good for much of the night. 6
GF Adel Got the job on Walker, whom he destroyed, to help give the team a decided edge. Superb defensive effort. 8

2016 Season

1 Carl Started well in defence and used body well in a few marking contests. Plenty to build on. 5
2 Coll Steady enough down back after shifting opponents when Grimes went down. 5
3 Adel Went to Walker, but also had Jenkins at times. Battled away but beaten on the day. 4
4 WCE Got hurt in the final term. Had a tough time before that. 4
5 Melb Started down back and just going then switched forward in final term. 3
6 Port Struggled with Dixon’s power although the Port man didn’t destroy him on scoreboard. 4
7 VFL Wasn’t the worst down back but didn’t set the world on fire. -
8 VFL Used ball well in back half but was out of position on a few occasions. -
9 VFL Bye. -
10 Ess Grabbed 11 marks (three contested) and gave Brown a bit of a bath. 7
11 NM Determined with one-percenters and had a presence in the air. 5
12 GCS Took Day and Wright in Tigers’ defence and had hands full until late ankle injury forced him off. 3
13 Ankle.
14 Bris Stationed down back opposed to Walker for long periods and did a solid job. 6
15 Port Did a fine job shutting down Schulz and won plenty of his own footy. 7
16 WB Great game in defence. Read the play well and took handy intercept marks. 7
17 Ess Working into some fine form down back. Marked the ball well after a slowish start. 7
18 Haw Made one horror mistake that cost a goal. Tried hard but not his day. 3
19 GWS Played mostly on Patton and fulfilled his role by keeping him goalless. 5
20 Coll Spent time on White among others and steady in the back half. 6
21 Geel Strong again opposed to Stanley among others. Growing in confidence. 7
22 StK Bruce caused him all sorts of trouble in first half then better after main break. 5
23 Syd Defended quite well on Sydney’s resting ruckmen. Can hold head high. 6

2015 Season

4 Melb Had Dawes and troubled by his bulk, especially early. 4
5 Geel Hawkins monstered him early and ended game up forward. 4
6 NM Used as a forward – not sure it’s his go. Ended in defence. 2

8 VFL Had rough night down back. Couldn’t take a trick. -
9 VFL Injured hamstring early and sat out rest of game. -

13 VFL Got through the game on return from hamstring issue. -
14 VFL Copped a knock early but got up to play good role in defence. -
15 VFL Went forward and kicked two important goals to seal victory. -
16 VFL Started in defence but shifted forward late. -
17 VFL OK in patches but not a four-quarter contributor. -
18 VFL Did a sterling job in defence and gave drive into attack. -
19 VFL Bye. -
20 VFL Started back then went forward. OK in disappointing loss. -

1 GCS Had some up and down moments down back but will look to build in the coming weeks. 5
2 Carl Played on Waite and Henderson at stages. Holding down a defensive spot. 5

4 Coll Superb on Cloke. One of the Tigers’ few winners. 8
5 Bris Had a busy night at full back on Brown who was determined to celebrate 250th. 4
6 Haw Worked hard on Roughead and did his job. 6
7 Geel Kept Hawkins goalless for the first time this year which is a feather in his cap. 7
9 Melb Dislocated his knee during the third term. Had done a good defensive job before that. 5
