2017 Season

1	GCS	New skipper showed no signs of rustiness and found the footy at will, particularly early in the contest.	9
2	Ess	Inspirational. Superb efficiency and 10 disposals in third quarter lifted a side facing a massive defeat. Late foot injury slowed him.	9
3	StK	Continued good start to the year as skipper with 30 possessions and a goal in the middle of the ground.	8
4	Rich	Most effective in third term when he had eight disposals and added the first of two goals. Took a strong overhead mark in final term.	7
5	WB	Huge game highlighted by 36 touches, five tackles, six inside-50s and a monster appetite for the contest.	8
6	Port	Just the 21 possessions as the Power put plenty of time into him.	5
7	NEAFL	Quad.	-

9	Adel	Set the example. Stood alone as the only Lion to contribute solidly across all four quarters.	8
10	Coll	Among Lions better performers with 28 disposals and three goals. Lacked support but tried his bum off against old side.	8

12	Frem	After average start, went up a cog after the first break to lead the side in style to victory. Had 35 disposals.	8
13	Port	Won his fair amount of clearances but didn’t exert his influence on the game enough.	6
14	GWS	Injured shoulder in the opening 60 seconds and took no further part. Badly missed.	1

16	Geel	In and under all night, trying to set an example for others to follow.	6
17	Rich	Quiet start and wasn’t really ever able to get into full stride in midfield.	4
18	Carl	All class. Never far from the action and not only set up goals, he bagged three of his own.	8
19	WCE	Classy with the ball and had a whopping 41 disposals.	8
20	WB	Tough in-and-under in the contest, but just one centre clearance.	6
21	GCS	Blitzed. Team high 32 disposals and four goals. Took home his second Marcus Ashcroft medal this year.	9
22	Melb	Massive effort highlighted by six inside-50s, three goals, 16 contested possessions and 33 disposals.	9
23	NM	After a powerful start he was reined in by Dumont after half time.	6

4	WCE	Held early but still made the Lions’ top four possession getters in the end.	7
5	GCS	Battled against the tide and booted two third-quarter goals.	8

7	Port	After four touches in opening quarter, finished with a game high 32. Class!	8
8	Ess	Contested strongly and didn’t concede an inch.	6
9	StK	Never stopped trying. Only one to really give Brisbane a hope of fighting back.	8
10	GWS	Lacked support but continued to find the ball and kicked three handy goals.	8
12	WB	Four-quarter contributor. Hurt shoulder late in game.	6
13	Adel	Game high 32 (11 ineffective). Possessions don’t enough opposition enough.	7
14	Frem	Never stopped trying in midfield. Having a fine season despite team’s woes.	8
15	Syd	Ran his backside off. Only one inside-50 so influence not huge. Two goals.	7

1	Frem	Racked up 31 disposals but had 21 of those by half time. Laid nine tackles so work-rate was up.	7
2	Syd	Played an excellent game through the midfield and up forward.	7
3	Geel	Among the better Pies despite copping leg knock. Team high 14 cont poss.	8
4	Rich	Found far too much space opposed to Grigg. Orchestrated Pies’ big lead.	8
5	NM	Highlight was eight tackles to support all the great stuff he did with the ball.	8
6	Ess	Laid nine tackles to go with nine clearances and 14 contested possessions.	8
7	Carl	Slowish start then his game grew and finished with four goals.	7
9	Adel	Everywhere in first half – 20 disp, five clearances, goal. Nothing after that.	6
10	WCE	Only 10 of his disposals were kicks but two goals including a ripper in final term.	7
11	StK	Best afield and had a big night all over the ground.	8
12	Melb	Quiet by his standards but what he did had a touch of class about it. Two goals.	6

14	Haw	Worked hard first game back after one-week calf injury. Seven clearances.	7
