2017 Season

1 Melb Did a few nice things but was tested by Melbourne's active tall forwards. 4
2 WCE Good job on Darling after the Eagle looked ready to launch. Fought hard. 6
3 Bris Intercepted well in the first half but impact waned a touch until some key moments. 6
4 Coll Dominated White early; strong presence in back half but less to do after half time as all the play was at the other end. 6
5 Geel Battled hard down back and had Taylor covered when opposed to him. Didn’t offer much offensively. 4
6 Haw Manned young O’Brien to start with. Took some great marks and played his best game in new colors. Late goal capped it off. 8
7 GWS Had job on Cameron and for the most part was able to keep him from being the destroyer. Read the game well to be in the way. 7
8 Carl Big first half where he rebounded everything. Beat the inexperienced Weitering and provided a real presence down back. 8
9 Syd Worked hard down back as Saints were under regular bombardment. 5
10 WB Did well against the resting tall down back and was briefly moved forward for the first time to try and give spark. 7
11 Bye.
12 Adel Struggled after some friendly fire from Sam Gilbert who landed awkwardly on his leg. 3
13 NM Stood tall when North mounted a surge in third quarter. Reasonable game on Waite. 5
14 GCS Read the play well in defence and cut off Gold Coast at times. Bobbed up for handy goal. 6
15 Frem Defended well and pushed forward for two goals in first hour. Livened things up with clash with Ballantyne. 7
16 Rich Solid in his 100th game and did what he had to in back half. 6
17 Ess Intercepted everything early in the game and even Dons fans tired of booing him. Went forward in second half. 6
18 Syd Had some interceptions early but he couldn't thwart Sinclair. 4
19 Port Constantly intercepted with well judged marks and well on top of Trengove. 8
20 WCE Generally had the better of Darling and was solid down back. 6
21 Melb Dropped off Weideman to control the air in the back half. Was thrown forward at times and provided a contest. 7
22 NM Read play well in defence for intercept marks and was again sound down back. In scuffle at quarter time and reported twice. 6
23 Rich Battled Riewoldt and then Townsend. Tried hard and was better after half time. 5

1 Syd Wet conditions didn’t suit marking game and had minimal impact. 3
2 Haw Kicked two goals opposed to Lake, then McEvoy. OK without starring. 5
3 Carl One first-half goal but well held by Rowe for the most part. 4
4 Coll Brown had his measure in the wet conditions. Just four marks and no goals. 2
5 StK Strong marking in four-goal effort from limited chances. 6
6 Frem Battled. Eventually moved to defence. 3
7 Neck.
8 Bris Kicked three goals and played a part after being distracted initially. 5
9 Rich Missed early opportunities in front of goals that were costly. 10 marks. 6
10 Geel Monstered by Taylor. Six marks but none in dangerous positions. 2
11 WCE Rucked but couldn’t stop Naitanui from dominating. Tried hard. 4
13 Haw Jagged three goals and eight marks in a pleasing display up forward. 6

22 Rich Did well down back. Strong second half when took some nice marks. 7
23 Coll Took Moore in a good battle. Defended pretty well but lost feet at times. 5

2014 Season

Played for : Essendon

1 NM Grima picked him up early. Plenty of hard work in attack 5
2 Haw Had 11cm on Cheney but didn’t use it as well as he could have. Two goals. 5
3 Carl Made Warnock look like a dinosaur when running through the ruck. Influential. 7
4 Frem Beaten by Sandilands in the ruck and wasn’t as influential around ground as last week. 3
5 StK Against Delaney had a very quiet night in attack. 2
6 Coll Struggled. Got lost in general play and didn’t concern Pies at any stage. 2
7 WB Took five marks in an improved effort but still didn’t score a goal. 4
8 Bris Still struggling to find form up forward and often got frustrated. 3
9 Syd Sub. Kicked two goals after surprisingly starting as the sub. 2
11 Rich Outstanding down back early and set the tone for the contest. Looked at home. 8
12 GWS On Tomlinson and again looked more comfortable down back. 5
13 Melb Good early opposed to Pedersen but the Dee slowly got on top with two goals. 5
14 Knee.
15 Geel Looked dangerous in the air at times and ended with two goals. Handy performance. 6
16 Port Pushed forward for two goals before returning to defence. 5
17 Coll Put his imprint on game from start and took 19 marks. 9
18 WB Eight goals from 12 marks was a match-winning performance for second week running. 9
19 Syd Kept well in check by Grundy and took only two marks. 3
20 Rich Tried hard but Rance had his measure for most of night. Only five marks, two goals. 5

22 GCS Two goals but held for the most part by Thompson. Just three marks. 4

1 Adel Continued strong NAB form down back. 6
2 Melb Didn’t have much to deal with but did what was required. 7
3 Frem Did a mighty job on Pavlich and continues to come of age as defender. 9
4 StK Had a busy evening on Riewoldt and ran hard to force him up the field. 5
5 Coll Great battle with Cloke and got inside the Magpie’s head. Injured ankle late. 7
6 Ankle.
7 Geel Had the better of an injured Hawkins and did what he could from defence. 7
8 Bris Great battle with Brown. Beaten at times but handy going the other way. 6
9 Rich Great battle with Riewoldt and took the points after quarter time. 7
10 Syd Torched by Goodes in third term. Went forward late and looked dangerous. 4
11 Carl Had a demanding first half as Waite dominated. Then the matchwinner in attack. 8
12 GCS Had Lynch until the big Sun went down. Copped a few heavy hits. 6
14 WCE Played well in defence but then a match-winner in attack. 8
15 Port Hurt in the warm-up and started forward. Took some marks, but not his best day. 4
16 WB Early goal up forward then pushed back. Huge last term a key to win. 6
17 GWS Another tireless defensive effort, but he had colours lowered by Cameron. 4
18 Haw Franklin kicked eight on him but not all on his shoulders. Learning experience. 3
19 Coll Battled Cloke manfully and did OK given side got thumped. 6
20 WCE Did the job on xx down back before being shifted forward in final term. 5
21 NM Pitted against Black. Ran hard to cover ground and create. 6
22 Carl Had a good battle with Henderson but his marking strength has gone missing. 5
23 Rich Matched up on Vickery and was fair until being subbed off with a back issue. 4

1 VFL Controlled the back half and marked strongly. -
2 Port Steady in defence and then pushed forward after half time for a goal. 5
3 GCS Started on Day and kept him right out of the match. 6
5 Coll Handy enough but missed two chances for goal – 16 disposals. 5
6 Bris Solid game in defence. Held his own when required to play on Brown 5
7 WCE Picked up Darling and other rotations through forward half. 6
8 Rich Did a few things down back but not a big influence. 5
9 GWS Didn’t find a lot of the footy, but used it very well and played his role. 5
10 Melb Struggled to get clean touches . 3
11 Syd Reid got away from him early. 3
13 Frem Took four contested marks in defence. Held up well. 6
14 WB Hurt knee in second term. Subbed off at half time. 3
15 StK Moved into attack when Hurley went off. 5
16 Port Had the job on Westhoff and shaded on the day. 6
17 Geel Walker gave him plenty of awkward moments. 4
18 Haw Had trouble with Gunston early. 4
19 Adel Kept Walker goalless in the first half but had a nightmare after main break. 4
20 NM Started against Hansen. Did OK but assisted by the fact Hansen was groggy. 5
21 Carl Moved off Waite after 40 minutes then injured ankle in third term. 1
