2017 Season

1 Coll Relished the fierce inside battle (also 14 tackles) to make a four-quarter contribution. 7
2 Syd Celebrated 100th game with 16 tackles. Influence not huge with the ball but pressure was first class. 7
3 Frem Laid another 10 tackles and 17 of his 28 possessions were contested. 7
4 NM Struggled in the first half then upped the ante to give side a huge lift around the ball after half time. Nine tackles. 5
5 Bris Five effective disposals and one tackle in first half but provided a lift in the second to end with 14 effective disposals. 5
6 GWS Tackle count again solid (seven) but was very quiet until Mumford ended his night with a big tackle early in final term. 3
7 Rich Stats were solid but it wasn’t huge game for him. 5
8 WCE Horror night. Couldn’t get his hands on the ball and had no impact. 2
9 VFL Just fair again. 19 possessions and seven clearances, but not the player he was last year. -
10 VFL Okay, but wasn’t a dominant force in midfield. Had 21 touches and six clearances. -
11 Bye.
12 VFL Slow start but got into his work after half time. Not as his best still, but edging closer. -
13 Melb Laid nine tackles and won team-high 29 disposals. Effort huge but impact not commensurate. 6
14 NM Couldn’t get into the game in any phase. Only managed 13 possessions and tackle count well down (four). Stay in team? 3
15 Thigh.
16 Adel Didn’t find a lot of the footy but still managed eight clearances and laid six crunching tackles. 5
17 Carl Flitted in and out for 18 possessions, seven tackles and five clearances. Did enough but not at his best. 6
18 GCS Struggled to get into the tempo of the game. Looks overweight and out of touch. 4
19 Ess Spent time tagging Merrett and did that successfully in what was a key win. Nice snap goal late in third quarter. 7
20 Bris Had the task of minding Zorko or Rockliff. Got plenty of hands on the ball (15 handpasses) but only four kicks. 5
21 GWS One kick in first half and theme continued in second. Club had to send out a missing person’s ad at one point. 1
22 Port Tackled hard in defensive midfield role. Booted a goal in final term from a stoppage, but not at his best. 5
23 Haw Tagged Mitchell and did a reasonable job holding him to 23 disposals. Best game for a while. Will he be a Dog next year? 7

2016 Season

1 Frem Marked his return with a 45-metre goal on his right foot. Looked like he hadn’t missed a beat. 7
2 StK Kicked the opener and was a hard worker at the coalface. Solid. 6
3 Haw Lifted in the engine room after a quiet opening. Three clearances. 6
4 Carl Jagged a nice goal and busy around the ball. Linking handball and vision was good throughout. 6
5 Bris Solid on the inside without being spectacular in midfield. 6
6 NM No impact in first half and affected by knock. 4
7 Adel Led side with nine clearances and laid seven tackles. Four inside-50s, one goal. 7
8 Melb Laid a competition high 19 tackles but had seven clearances and five inside-50s to boot. 9
9 GWS Used in the midfield and down back. Did most of his good work in the first half. 5
10 Coll Didn’t slap on as many as tackles as usual. Lifted the output after half time. 6
11 WCE Shadowed at times by Hutchings but found a way to get dangerous close to goal and ended with three. 7
12 Port 13 clearances, nine tackles, six inside-50’s and a goal of real class in the third term. 8
13 Geel Battled away in close in midfield but not his best night at the office. 5
15 Syd Third quarter huge in getting Dogs to the finish line. 7
16 Rich Going well until a knee in the ribs saw him carted off to hospital. 3

1 WCE Only five effective disposals in first half but did lift after half time. 5
2 NM Determined performance, but not in best players. Game-high nine tackles. 5
3 Rich Solid hard working inside without dominating first half. Kept going all day. 6
4 GWS Enjoyed a good contest with Greene. Honors shared. 6
5 Carl Not his usual force in the middle but kept trying. 5
6 Adel Just one contested possession to half time, ended with seven. Well held in tight. 5
7 Ess Had 10 clearances, a goal and laid eight tackles. Never stopped working. 8
8 Melb Huge again. Two goals to go with eight clearances and 14 tackles. 8
10 GCS Knocked up winning contested footy and was solid with his disposal. 7
11 Frem Quality game with 31 touches, nine clearances and eight tackles. 8
12 Bris Worked hard in the clinches to feed the ball out but Dogs lacked runners. 6
13 Coll Outstanding. Had 34 touches, 13 clearances and 10 tackles. 9
14 Port Five inside-50s in the first term and a goal. 6
15 Melb Subdued in the middle and gave away a dumb free. 4
16 Geel Won 20 contested possessions, 12 clearances and laid seven tackles. 8
17 GCS Good in close as always and kicked a good late goal to snuff out Suns hopes. 7

19 Haw Undeterred by heavy knock in first term and continued to generate. 6

21 NM Slow to get going as North controlled early part of the game. 5

2013 Season

1 Bris Good start and kept momentum going. 6
2 Frem Racked up 18 cont poss, 11 tackles and 12 clearances in a spirited display. 8
3 Rich Quiet game after a strong start to the season. Will bounce back. 4
4 Adel Outstanding ability to win and find the footy in congested areas. 7
5 Geel Team high 15 contested poss and nine clearances stamped him among best. 8
6 WCE Totally blanketed early. Fought back to some extent. 4
7 NM Didn’t get as many clearances as usual and kept under control. 4
8 GCS Got an equal game-high three centre clearances and went in hard for the footy. 6
9 StK Went with Hayes and squared the battle until Lenny was subbed. 5
10 Port Huge outing. Super around the contests with 12 clearances and a stack of touches. 8
12 Coll Solid but unobtrusive game. 4
13 Rich Had team-high seven clearances but impact restricted to a degree by Jackson. 6
14 Melb Best-on-ground with game-high 12 clearances and 11 inside 50s. Future champ. 9
15 GWS Started well and got the Dogs moving, but didn't sustain that level. 5
16 Ess Dogs’ best. Game-high 18 cont poss, 11 clearances and six inside-50s. 8
17 Haw Just knows how to find the footy, game high 15 contested disposals. Kept trying. 7
18 WCE Set tone with 10 first-half tackles. Ended with 12 and four inside-50s. 8
19 Syd Good first half and did well but Jack made him work hard. 6
20 Carl Good battle with McLean and probably shared the points. Keeps getting better. 7

2012 Season

1 WCE Great effort from the kid – 27 disposals and hit target with 25 of them. 8
2 Adel Only the 14 disposals but did manage four clearances and two inside 50s. 5
3 StK Quiet night and was subbed off. 2
5 GWS 14 touches, four clearances in less than 50% game time. 5
6 Coll Had plenty of the ball. 6
7 NM Won hard footy and had six clearances to go with his tally of touches. 7
8 GCS Good in close in conditions that suited to a tee. 7
9 Geel Rock solid from a future star – team-high 14 cont. poss. and nine clearances. 7
10 Syd Battled hard, but just couldn’t get himself into the game. 4
12 Port Got knocked around but kept fighting with five inside-50s and four clearances. 6
13 Bris Probably Dogs’ best. Worked super hard around the footy – nine clearances. 8
14 Ess Tried hard and was one of the few to acquit themselves in first half. 7
15 Frem Won seven clearances which was the most for the team. 7
16 Haw Battled away but swamped by relentless Hawk midfield – no inside-50s. 4
17 Carl Game-high 10 clearances. Never gives in just like legendary dad Tony. 7
18 StK At least kept battling but is more of an accumulator than a playmaker. 6
