12 Syd Wasn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves and do some hard work. Not his best outing, but battled manfully throughout. 6

14 NM Plugged away in the midfield with odd stint up forward. Worked hard for six inside-50s and three tackles. One goal. 6

16 Adel Like many of his team mates played an ordinary game when special games were needed by many to get them an away win. 5

2016 Season

1 Frem Worked hard to find space forward of the ball. Did his bit around the contests too. 6
2 StK Made a few errors by foot, but won the ball well enough in middle. 5
3 Haw Another Dog who lifted after a tardy start. Five clearances. 7
4 Carl Burrowed in around the ball to enable teammates to win the footy. Does a lot of team things. 6
5 Bris Strong outing in midfield. Found ball and will and was able to squirt out into space countless times. 7
6 NM Honest and steady game in middle. 5
7 Adel Seven clearances, seven inside-50s, three tackles, 10 contested possessions and a goal. 7
8 Melb Six tackles and four inside-50s headlined another strong effort in the middle. Makes others better around him. 7
9 GWS Damaging at stoppages with five clearances and won 10 contested possessions. 6
10 Coll Worked hard in close in unspectacular fashion and gave value. 6

12 Bris Great tackle produced a crucial goal against the flow in third term. Decisive use. 7

14 Carl Played his part and was able to get forward to hit the scoreboard. 6

1 WCE Tagged Shuey (two goals) and did a reasonable job. Kept working late. 6

3 Rich Important job on Cotchin but couldn’t stop the Tiger dynamo. 5
4 GWS Kept Ward quiet and found a bit of ball himself. 6
5 Carl Tag on Murphy and copped punishment. Well beaten. 3
6 VFL Strong response to being left out of senior team. Had 26 touches. -
7 VFL Worked hard and got his hands on the ball, which is a plus. -
8 VFL Hard worker in midfield to get the Dogs rolling. -

10 VFL Ran back into some good form with 33 possessions, eight inside 50s. -
11 Frem Fantastic job tagging Fyfe. Closed him down. 8
12 Bris Did a decent enough job tagging Rockliff but needs to get more of his own ball. 5
13 Coll Tagged Pendlebury. The Pie had 30 touches but didn’t destroy the Dogs. 5
14 Port Started the day having the run-with role on Polec. 5
15 Melb Did a nice job on N.Jones for 90% of the game but Dee had an impact late. 6
16 Geel Brilliant job quelling Selwood who had just 13 disposals. Among the best. 7

1 Bris Prominent both inside packs and when wide. 2
2 Frem Subbed out late in third term after an even effort highlighted by seven cont poss. 5

4 Adel Spread well once the Doggies won the footy across half back and in midfield. 6
5 Geel Pretty quiet and the fact he didn’t have an inside-50 indicates as much. 4
6 WCE Sub came on in third quarter for Stringer, mad an impact. 4
7 NM Stats belied a lack of impact. 3
8 VFL Frankston paid him close attention but he was good at the stoppages. -
9 VFL Strong game around the stoppages and kicking was a bit better. -
10 Port Worked hard in first game back after VFL stint. Improved ball use. 5
12 VFL Well tagged by Nick O’Brien. Just the 14 touches. -
13 VFL Williamstown’s best in midfield. Racked up big numbers. -
14 Melb Worked hard, but outrun on occasions. 5
15 GWS Matched up with Shiel, he finished a distant second. 4
16 Ess Struggled in the engine room and subbed out in third term. 2
17 Haw Ran with Hodge for most of the day, tough inside the coal face. 4

20 Carl Again deployed in a tagging role, this time on Murphy. Did the job fairly well. 6
21 Adel Shadowed Dangerfield for large parts and helped keep him to just 16 disposals. 7
22 Bris Went to Rich who was rampant early and shut him down beautifully. 7
23 Melb Put dangerous midfielder N. Jones out of business. Has emerged as splendid tagger. 7
