2017 Season

1 Frem Former Blue was quelled early but going after quarter time to be a driving force off the back of the square. 7
2 NM Disposal efficiency off early but he was one of the Cats’ best in the second half with his run and rebound from defence. 7
3 Melb Rebounded in patches but after big first term Dees were able to nullify his ability to create attack from defence; 21 disposals. 6
4 Haw Steady and strong throughout to beast his man and rebound when he could. Great start to season continues. 7
5 StK Among better Cats all day with his poise and rebound from defence. One of better Cats when flow of game against. 8
6 Coll Close to Cats’ best again. Rebounded well and defended stoutly when he had to; 36 disposals and non-stop running. 8
7 GCS Close to Cats’ best again with his poise, run and rebound from defence. Ended with 29 disposals and defended well. 8
8 Ess Quietest game this year but did work into the game after half time. Ended with 20 disposals (16 effective). 5
9 WB Huge again, particularly in first half. Ended with 28 disposals and hit target with 21 of them. In the votes again. 8
10 Port Jagged brilliant early goal and again was at forefront of the win; 27 disposals and able to provide some rebound. 8
11 Adel Had Betts covered then when Cats got on top he was released to play a more attacking style of defence; 27 disposals. 8
12 Bye.
13 WCE Won 25 possessions but didn’t have the same impact he has been having. Under pressure and missed some targets. 5

2016 Season

Played for : Carlton

1 Rich Gave customary run off half back but wasn’t able to press as far forward as he can do. 5
2 Syd Enjoyed a very good game in 100th outing for the Blues. Used it well from defence. 7
3 GCS Booted a goal courtesy of a 50m penalty and was useful. 5
4 WB Plugged away in the back end. Got caught with the ball a few times and not one of his better games. 4
5 Frem Kept Freo’s forwards quiet. 5
6 Ess Made a few mistakes down back but got better when it mattered late in the game. 5
7 Coll Matched up on debutant Crocker and spent time on Blair. Steady but not his best day. 4
8 Port Gave some rebound and long goal from outside 50 in second term helped keep pressure on. 5
9 NM Unable to provide attacking drive off half back due to North’s dominance. 4
10 Geel Hammered Motlop in a fine defensive effort that helped the side contain the Cats’ forward line. 8
11 Bris Outstanding game. Broke the lines from defence and penetrating by foot. 8
12 StK Made some good runs and took the game on when he could. 5
14 GWS Finished with six rebounds and made good decisions by foot out of the back half. 5
15 Coll Terrible night. Used it poorly and was weak defensively. 2
16 Adel Great battle against Betts (three goals) but he was a factor going other way. 6
17 WCE Cripps gave him some problems but offensively he kept taking the game on. 7
18 Syd Impressive effort in defence. Got plenty of it and had five rebound-50s. 6

23 Ess Defensively average but was decent on the rebound. Used it better than most. 6

2015 Season

Played for : Carlton

1 Rich Set up a nice running goal but not a big factor. 4
2 WCE Took Cripps/Le Cras and did a good job. Battled hard. 5
3 Ess Among better Blues because of his ability to win one-on-one contests 6
4 StK Back to his hard-running long-kicking best of a couple of years back. 8
5 Coll Quiet. Couldn’t get anything going at half back. 3
6 Bris OK early in the game then his run and rebound fell away after main break. 5
7 GWS Had Greene and was fair. Pressed forward to boot a goal. 5
8 Geel Failed to tackle (zero) and was poor one-on-one in defence. 3
9 Syd Better than previous week but still short of best. One great set shot goal. 6
10 Adel Brilliant job on Betts. Kept him to three kicks and one goal. 8
12 Port Took Wingard and found that a nightmare match-up. Battled hard but beaten. 3
13 GCS Huge game. Kicked great running goal and repelled everything. 8
14 WB Good battle with Stringer (three goals) but provided valuable run from defence. 7
15 Rich Great game down back. Did some fine things one-on-one and won the ball. 8
16 Frem Kicked a goal, made some errors. It was an up and down night. 5
17 Haw Had Gunston for long period and found that a tough match-up. 3
18 NM Unable to give enough drive from back half. 4
19 Coll Quieter than normal and wasn't able to get ball flowing from defence. 4
20 Bris No impact of note. 5
21 Melb Involved in Garlett match-up and beat others. Solid effort down back. 6
22 GWS Gave Smith too much rein in front half. 4
23 Haw Started on Burgoyne in defence and gave good run once the Hawk went off. 7

2014 Season

Played for : Carlton

1 Port Well below his best. 3
2 Rich Just the 10 possessions and wasn’t a big factor. 3
3 Ess Got beaten one-on-one deep back and made some horrible mistakes. 2
4 Melb Has hit a flat patch in his career. Beaten one-on-one a few times and skill down. 2
5 WB On Stevens at the start. Worked solidly. 5
6 WCE Copped a huge spray from the coach. Responded with a goal. 4
7 Coll Picked up midfielders resting up forward. Had a share of touches. 6
8 StK Defended stoutly and provided some run in the first half. Quiet in second. 4
10 Adel Horror mistakes early but redeemed himself after half time with solid work. 5
11 Bris Had Zorko and others. Not the worst and kicked huge goal. 5
12 Geel Ran with Bartel among others and OK defensively but little offensively. 4
13 Haw Took Rioli/Puopolo at times. Not much offensively and just OK as a defender. 3
14 GWS Managed to keep Smith in check in a solid day out. 6
15 Coll Spent large parts on Blair and OK defensively but little going the other way. 4
16 StK Began on Schneider. Had low-key day. 4
17 Syd Beginning on debutant Towers, rarely sighted in a quiet evening. 4
18 NM Matched up on Thomas and was OK in most contests but opponent kicked four. 4
19 Frem Took on Ballantyne and did well despite Docker kicking four goals. 6
20 GCS Part of a rock solid defence that rarely put a foot wrong. Strong at contest. 6
21 Geel Did some good things down back without starring. Didn’t have a match-up. 5
22 Port Tough battle with Wingard and came out on the losing end. 4
23 Ess Excellent late. Found some form which had been missing for most of the year. 6

2013 Season

1 Rich Quiet game and couldn’t get into it. 6
2 Coll OK in the back half without being a standout. 5
3 Geel Worked well off half back and had five rebound 50s. Among the better Blues. 7
4 WCE Roamed up and down the ground for his touches. OK but not a huge game. 5
5 Adel A strong contributor until Jaensch got hold of him in the last. Improving. 6
6 Melb Stout in the back half and good when asked to go one-on-one. 6
7 StK Thrown task on Milne and stuck to it pretty well in a great battle. 4
8 Port Used the ball well and was solid down back. Slowly improving. 5
9 Bris One of 20 Blues to rack up double figure possession tally. Ok. 5
10 GWS Two fine goals and aggressive at the contest. 6
11 Ess OK without making huge impact. 5
12 Haw Nice early goal and handy enough from wing/defence without starring. 4
14 Syd In and out of the game and kicked a great snapped goal in the last quarter. 5
15 Coll Had Krakouer then Macaffer as a defensive forward on him. Offered little. 3
16 StK Had the job on Milne and solid overall but the Saint got away a few times. 5
17 NM Again given job on best small forward Thomas after he got away from Walker. 5
18 GCS Good duel with Sumner, honours fairly even. 5
19 Frem Three goals on Ballantyne to lift the Blues, but the Docker had an impact too. 6
20 WB Found Dahlhaus a bit too slippery but did bob up with a customary running goal. 4
21 Rich Kicked a customary long goal in the last and was solid down back. 5
22 Ess Had some pot shots from outside 50 and landed one. Could have done more. 5
23 Port Another player down on form from previous weeks. 4
EF Rich Started on Edwards but moved away early. Not a factor in second half. 3
SF Syd Low-key in defence. 4

2012 Season

Played for : Carlton

1 Rich Not prominent but worked hard. 3
2 Bris Matched up on Polec. Useful game and tackled hard 5
3 Coll Hard nut who began with Thomas. Strong first half then tapered. 6
4 Ess Couldn’t find space to run and carry like previous weeks. 4
5 Frem Only the 12 touches then subbed out midway through final term. 3
6 GWS Did some nice things and used his dash on occasions. Only four kicks. 4
7 StK Found the going tough although kept Milne goalless for final 40 mins. 4
8 Adel Under siege down back and always on the back foot. 3
9 Melb Nice running goal and laid six tackles to stay involved despite moderate stats. 5
10 Port Started in defence in place of Bower and was OK but not a key position player. 5
11 Geel Great goal early and did some good things defensively and offensively. 6
12 WCE Tried his backside off and although made a few mistakes he was OK. 5
14 Haw No impact as seemed out of sorts. 3
15 Coll Modest numbers but did what was required when ball in his area. 4
