2017 Season

1	WB	Knocked up winning the ball (33 times) and stuck 12 tackles. Great goer – if only his kicking was a weapon too.	8
2	Rich	Combative, bullocking game; suited by the scrappy contest. Eight tackles an indication of his work-rate.	7
3	Syd	Set the tone with his defensive work in close laying a truckload of tackles (11). Spent time at half back too.	8
4	StK	Fought every issue right to the end, a mammoth 27 handballs in traffic among his 39 disposals.	7
5	Ess	Rotated with Pendlebury forward and worked hard as always but could not find space and he’s not a noted goalkicker.	5
6	Geel	Ran hard and despite a bevy of errant disposals he won enough of it to be a huge driving force in the middle.	8
7	Carl	High half forward cum extra mid. Desperate customer with 10 tackles and 27 touches.	7
8	GWS	Won a stack of the ball in the first term as Pies ambushed Giants. Fought every issue: 30 touches, eight tackles.	7
9	Haw	Cracked in hard for 33 touches, 25 effective, and a couple of goal assists.	7
10	Bris	Relished slippery conditions to find plenty of the ball and help drive the engine room for the Pies.	7
11	Frem	Influential performance with 28 touches, nine clearances and 10 tackles.	8
12	Melb	He gets the ball but you don’t want him getting it because he’s a turnover machine. 26 disposals – 15 hit target.	5

14	Port	Effort good but mistakes and fumbles thwarted his capacity to impact the Power to any huge degree; 29 possessions.	6
15	Haw	Could fall out of bed and miss the floor. Led the team in turnovers. One of Hawthorn’s better players.	2

20	NM	Strong effort, did his job inside, but lack of polish holding him back from elite category.	7
21	Port	Leads from the front and is not afraid to get hurt, had eight clearances and laid nine tackles around the stoppages.	7
22	Geel	Battled hard to lead team in tackles (12), disposals (26) and had five inside-50s. Never stopped trying.	8
23	Melb	Won plenty of the ball forward of the packs and got under Dees skin. Ended with 28 touches.	7

2016 Season

1	Syd	Cracked in against the Swans’ hard-heads and returned respectable figures.	5
2	Rich	Enjoyed bursts that impacted the game’s flow. Four clearances, seven tackles.	6
3	StK	Battled hard in the midfield. Won 14 contested possessions, eight clearances and four inside-50s.	7

5	Ess	Quietly went about gathering plenty of the ball. Four inside-50s, three clearances and a goal.	8

2014 Season

1	Frem	Didn’t get into it the game at all (15 disp) in a disappointing Magpie debut.	4
