2017 Season

1 Haw Formed a good team with Ambrose and Hurley in defence. Had Vickery for long periods. 7
2 Bris Started on Hipwood who found touch late in the game but otherwise a pass mark? 5
3 -
4 VFL Solid enough in defence opposed to Zebra tall forwards. -
5 VFL Did a strong defensive job and won plenty of his own ball as well pushing up the ground. -
6 VFL Marked strongly at times down back and is a chance to return to senior line-up soon. -
7 Frem Under the pump inside 50. The Freo talls did well. 5
8 Geel Battled Hawkins (four goals). Actually did a good job when the game was at its hottest and won some one-on-ones. 5
9 WCE Went to Kennedy and although the Eagle ended with four goals, competed strongly. 6
10 Rich Got the job on Tiger star Riewoldt and did that reasonably well. Tiger forward’s inaccuracy helped his cause. 5
11 GWS Went to Patton and did a solid job without giving much offensively. 6
12 Port Had Dixon’s measure for much of the night and allowed Hurley to drift off and play his own game. 5
13 Bye.
14 Syd Big task on Franklin, but stuck to it very well to ultimately hold him goalless – the Swan’s inaccuracy helped. 7
15 Bris Never looked like containing the main tall target Hipwood. 2
16 Coll Defender injured a knee early and was severely hampered from that point on. Hopefully can be right for next week. 3
17 StK Lined up on Bruce and was a quiet achiever. 5
18 NM Had his hands full with Ben Brown. Found him too tall to spoil at full stretch, weight of inside 50’s didn’t help either. 4
19 WB Took Cloke mostly in attack and was okay. The Bulldog only booted one goal. 6
20 Carl Had task on Casboult and stuck to it pretty well. Sort of like the okay looking girl who comes along to support a friend. 5
21 VFL Did his job in trying to earn an AFL recall down back. 21 touches, seven rebounds. -
22 GCS Kept Wright to just the one goal and got 18 possessions of his own, including five Inside 50's. 6
23 Frem Didn’t have much to do for a while, then was swamped and had to stand up. Fair. 5
EF Syd Had the task on Sam Reid and actually reasonable given the Swan did not kick a goal. 4

2016 Season

1 Played in VFL trial against Footscray.
2 Melb Battled Hogan among others and was solid. First goal of career on debut to top off a great day. 5
3 Port Serviceable in defence with four rebounds from defensive 50. 4
4 Geel Superb job on Hawkins. Kept him goalless for first time since Round 21, 2014. 8
5 Coll Always created a contest and battled manfully to be Essendon’s best defender. 5
6 Carl Beat Casboult. Read the play well from further afield and took some intercept marks. 6
7 Syd Performed admirably on Franklin until the star forward took full control in the last quarter. 4
8 NM Given task on Waite and did a string job. Of two goals conceded neither was his fault. 6
9 StK Tested by tall opposition forwards but kept working hard. 4
10 Rich Conceded two goals to Vickery until hamstring went in third term and night was over. 4
11 Hamstring.
12 Hamstring.
13 GWS Took Lobb at times and stout on him defensively but offered very little going other way. 3
15 WCE Did a good job on Kennedy. Won his share of contests. 6
16 StK Hard working tall defender whose willingness to do extra things was impressive. 5
17 Rich Outpointed by Griffiths in marking contests time after time. Not his best showing. 4
18 Bris Beaten a few times down back but stuck to task for the most part. 4
19 Adel Six tackles but little else. 3
20 Geel Battled Hawkins and only the Cat’s inaccuracy saved him from a bag against. 3
21 GCS Matched up on Wright. Splattered nose in second term. Back on after main break and was solid. 6
22 WB On Boyd and Roughead. Nose splattered again, but he returned to game. 5
23 Carl Solid as a rock on Casboult. Hardly put a foot wrong in the key defensive post. 6
