2017 Season

1 Port Won a share of the sherrin but in terms of impact it didn't translate. One inside-50 tells a tale of his night. 5
2 WB Led Swans with 34 disposals in a solid effort highlighted by five inside-50s and nine contested possessions. 7
3 Coll Again at the pointy end of team’s top disposal winners with 33. Impact given number is questionable. One inside-50. 6
4 WCE Big ball winner in the first half but has to start using the ball better. Nice final term goal though. 6
5 GWS Playing in defence is still new territory, but won a lot of the ball. 6
6 Carl Team-high 32 disposlas but how many after playing on from a kick-in? Handy but stats maybe overstate impact. 6
7 Bris Mopped up well at half back and through midfield – mostly on the outside. Okay without starring. 6
8 NM Continue his good form as a strong ball-winner and worked hard all night with 28 possessions. 7
9 StK Has been a revelation this year. Always composed under pressure when using the ball. 8
10 Haw Off in opening exchanges with a head knock. Played on further part. 1
11 Bye.
12 WB In difficult conditions he used footy well (25 of 31 possessions hit target) and played role asked of him to a tee. One goal. 7
13 Rich Rotated through a number of opponents. Grabbed usual tally of stat (25) and defended when he had to. Steady without starring. 6
14 Ess A lot of the footy at half back again – 30 possessions –  and used the ball quite well. 7
15 Melb Got a lot of the ball down back as usual, but had a few moments he’d like back. Okay overall. 6
16 GCS Game high 30 disposals, was sensational in defence. 8
17 GWS GWS put a defensive tag on the ball magnet, and despite reducing him to 21 touches he was a solid contributor. 6
18 StK Unobtrusive game and stats gave indication of more influence than he actually had. 5
19 Hip.
20 Geel Mid-sized defender steadily set about grabbing 20 possessions, three inside-50s and three tackles. 6
21 Frem Never stopped running. Was always involved when the Swans were transitioning from defence. 6
22 Adel Another Swans midfielder not given the respect he deserves, great midfield game. 7
23 Carl Had Lamb for company. Not as prominent as usual but still collected 22 disposals and used it well. 6
EF Ess Underrated half back just kept running to receive and defending when he was forced to – which wasn’t often. 8
SF Geel Like that ex-girlfriend you like but don’t love. Does enough without getting the juices seriously flowing; 20 disposals. 5

2016 Season

1 Coll Brought his own footy in the first half and ended with a career-high 35 possessions. 8
2 Carl Growing by the game. Runs hard, is elusive and clever and uses the pill well. 6
3 GWS Gave the Swans’ forwards plenty of supply with five inside-50s. 6
4 Adel Five inside-50s, but caught napping with Betts is loitering. 6
5 WCE Couldn’t hold Gaff when on him and was better in freed up role. 5
6 Bris Serviceable on a wing and won the battle with Bewick. 6
7 Ess Continues to find the footy and ran hard both ways. 5
8 Rich Worked up and down ground to play a steady role. Sydney’s second biggest possession winner. 6
9 Haw Wingman pitted against Hartung. Won his share of the ball but the Hawk was busy. 5
10 NM Big numbers at half back but hit and miss at times with distribution. 7
11 GCS Good at the stoppages and booted a goal. 5
12 GWS Ball use substandard at times, but still respectable in the midfield. 5
13 Melb Played his part but not a major factor overall. Tweaked ankle in final term. 4
15 WB Did a lot of hard work and had a handy evening. 5
16 Geel Got under guard to be a handy performer. Five inside-50s and a nice goal. 6
17 Haw Spot might be in danger. Seven effective touches. 3
18 Carl Looked at ease in defence with nine rebound-50s and made the right decisions by foot. 7
19 Frem Good job until he got knocked out late. 6
20 Port Continues to grow into a fine, consistent performer on the outside. 7
21 StK Racked up a heap of touches and nipped across to cut off attacks 6
22 NM Used the ball very well out of back half. Seven rebounds, one goal. 6
23 Rich Never out of the game across half back. Took a game-high 12 marks. 7
QF GWS Mopped up well across half back and used ball smartly on most occasions. 7
SF Adel Had 27 touches rotating between half back and through midfield. 7
PF Geel Very busy first quarter and good ball getter. Finished on strongly. 6
GF WB Started well but drifted out of the game somewhat. Ball use was good. 6

2015 Season

2 Port Pushed forward for an important goal in the third term. 6

5 WB Efficiency and effectiveness down but work-rate first class – nine tackles. 5
6 Melb Provided some drive without being a huge factor for the team. 5
7 Geel Huge first half (15 disposals) he copped an injury in third and subbed out 5
8 Haw Effectiveness down and many of his disposals failed to hurt Hawks. 4
9 Senior emergency.
10 GCS Missed a couple of opportunities early but kept bobbing up. 5
11 NM Didn’t get into the game to any great degree from a variety of positions. 4
13 Rich Battled on gamely in midfield rotation. Solid night. 6
14 Port Great first half (16 disp) and again late found some important ball. 7
15 Bris Heavy hit by Merrett in opening minutes but responded well. Underrated. 6
16 Haw Powerless to halt the Hawks. Two inside-50s and two clearances not enough. 3
17 WCE Won a lot of the ball at half back but lacked penetration to hurt Eagles. 6
18 Adel Good game by the hard working journeyman. 5
19 Geel Nine disposals in first term then battled. Seven inside-50s and three tackles. 6
20 Coll Sub came on at half time and got involved. 3
21 GWS Steady enough with 20 possessions in midfield rotation. 6
22 Senior emergency.
