2016 Digest:   Broke through for an AFL debut in Round 19, held his spot and continued his development as an attacking, mobile defender. Suffered a hamstring injury in the VFL semi-final loss to Sandringham but has put plenty of miles into his legs over summer and looks primed to take another step. Re-signed until the end of 2017.

2016 NAB Cup:   Being groomed down back and showed his ability to play on smalls and talls. Ahead of Frost in pecking order.

2016 Season

Played for : Collingwood

1 Played in VFL trial against Coburg.
2 Played in VFL trial against Geelong.
3 VFL Going OK until seeming to injury his hamstring again. -
4 Hamstring.
5 VFL Overwhelmed in defence on return from injury. -
6 Didn’t play for Collingwood VFL.
7 VFL Spent time on McCartin and struggled with his strength. -
8 VFL Defended well and provided good rebound from defence with 24 touches. -
9 VFL Stuck to key task well in the back half. Not big numbers but competed strongly. -
10 VFL Bye. -
11 VFL Very good in the back half and pressed claims for a senior recall. -
12 Melb Had Watts at times. Made a few mistakes but battled hard. Just needs more game time. 4
14 Frem Showed composure at half back and picked up the pace well. 5
15 Calf.
16 GWS Cameron’s five goals made his effort look worse than it was. Honest game. 5
17 Adel Just his ninth game and played well in defence. Looks to have a bright future. 5
18 NM Strong work at full back against Ziebell. Looks like a long-term defender. 5
19 WCE Torched by Darling early but battled back into contest. Silly punch on Shuey will be looked at. 4
20 Rich Took Riewoldt and that proved a tough ask but it was excellent experience. 4

22 GCS Had turns on both Day and Wright and did a steady job. 6
23 Haw Took Schoenmakers and able to keep him out of the game. Battled hard. 5

2015 Season

5 VFL Good duel with Redpath and more than held his own. -
6 Played on Walker and did a serviceable job.
7 VFL Defended well but needs to clean up ball use. -

9 VFL Defended well and provided god rebound from back half. -
10 VFL Strong game again in defence. Pressing hard for a debut. -
11 VFL Defended well and gave some run when needed. -

13 VFL Competed strongly in back half opposed to Hawks’ talls. -
14 VFL Good tussle with McCartin (two goals). Both players had their moments. -
15 VFL One of Pies’ best down back. Rarely beaten in a contest. -
16 VFL Did his job again in defence. Pressing hard for a debut. -
17 VFL Excelled down back again and is nearing a senior debut. -
18 VFL Best afield for Magpies and knocking door down for a debut. -
19 Carl Didn't look out of place on debut down back and showed good closing speed. 5

2014 Season

1 PM Played mostly forward and kicked a few goals. Did fairly well. -
2 VFL Did some good things, but gave away too many frees. -
3 PM In and out of the game. -
4 VFL Struggled to get into the game to any degree. -
5 VFL Showed bursts of brilliance but needs to find more ball. -
6 VFL Quiet game for the most part. -
7 VFL Up and down afternoon. -
8 VFL Bye. -
9 VFL Improved outing in defence and won his fair share of ball. -
10 Rested.
11 VFL Bye. -
12 VFL Did some good things down back. -
13 VFL Did well down back as a key defender. Improving. -
14 VFL Impressed again down back and in nearing an AFL debut. -
15 VFL Competed hard down back, but also made a few odd errors. -
