2017 Season

1 Adel Lucky to be given a gift goal after a soft free kick in the second term. 4
2 GCS Didn’t have a massive outing, but kicked two goals and was steady in the front half. 5
3 NM Scored the first goal but generally well held by the Roos’ experienced tall defenders. 4
4 Port Kicked one goal and won some good ball at ground level. Okay without being at his best. 5
5 Syd Wasn’t a major factor, but chipped in to do his it. 5
6 WB Started well with early goal and contested marking a feature of his game. Only seven effective disposals but had an impact. 5
7 StK One goal from 11 touches but didn’t stay in the game long enough to worry the Saints playing forward/ruck. 4
8 Coll Stood tall to kick two first-half goals and prove a thorn in Magpie defence. 6
9 Rich Kicked a long goal, but Astbury had his measure for most of the night. Sat out final hour with buttock issue. 3
10 Groin.
11 Groin.
12 Groin.
13 Groin.
14 NEAFL Held goalless in big loss on return from injury. -
15 Geel Horrible until final term when kicked a key goal and had chance to kick another. Ended with five kicks. 4
16 Haw Just average and maybe GWS were better off with another runner. Or rest Mumford and keep Lobb. 4
17 Syd Better than last week and took some good marks (eight) at either end of the ground. But no forward line pressure is a concern. 5
18 Rich Second ruck option struggled. One mark and three kicks not enough to help team. 2
19 Frem Mixes his really good with his really bad. When he uses his frame to take big grabs he is big, but then he will go and make a silly turnover. 5
20 Melb Presented up the ground – especially into the wind – to give an option. But wasn’t really his day. 4
21 WB Two kicks in opening half then took his game up a level after main break to grab some nice marks and impact the game. 6
22 Groin.
23 Geel Dangerous forward and in the ruck in first half but struggled to get into the game after main break. 5
QF Adel Forced into defence in second term to stop the bleeding. Looked all at sea at both ends at stages. 3
SF WCE Handed the main ruck responsibility and relished the chance. Beat Vardy and Petrie and marked well. 7
PF Rich Looked nervous and made some mistakes early in the game. Never really recovered; nine disposals. 2

2016 Season

1 Melb Grabbed four contested marks, kicked 2.3 and presented brilliantly. Great game. 7

3 Syd Failed to impact the scoreboard as a key forward. 2
4 Port Finished with four majors and was superb overhead with three contested marks. 6
5 StK Played a lesser role with return of Cameron and went goalless. Spent time in ruck and defence. 4
6 Haw More than a handful in attack taking contested mark after contested mark. A fine effort with xx goals. 8
7 Frem His contested marking was again a highlight. 6
8 GCS Took two strong contested marks and made the most of his opportunities with 3.0. 5
9 WB Lifted after a quiet first half up forward and strong in the air with four contested marks. 4
10 Adel Struggled to make an impact on the game, did manage one goal. 4

12 Syd Good duel with Grundy. Strong overhead marking a feature with four contested marks. 5
13 Ess Massive second half – 13 touches, four marks, and helped right the Giants’ ship. 7
14 Carl Helped Mumford out in the ruck and provided a good target up forward. 5
16 Coll After a quiet first half was given ruck time to get him into game. Great pair of hands. 5
17 Bris He caused problems, taking three contested marks and kicking a goal before an injury late in game. 5
18 Port Had eight tackles and 12 hit-outs. 5
19 Rich Honest performance up forward and in the ruck before injuring ankle in third quarter. 4
20 GCS Took a couple of crucial marks in defence in the second half. 4
21 WCE Nearly proved to be the game-breaker in front half with four goals. Price tag just went up. 8
22 Frem Big last term after being hardly sighted for three quarters. Only the 1 mark. 4
23 NM Hobbled early with leg issue but returned. Spent time in ruck and attack. Fair. 4
QF Syd Able to regularly drop back in front of defence and help cut off Swan thrusts. 5
PF WB Hit the scoreboard and was dangerous at times around the ball. Handy. 6
