2017 Digest:   Missed a bit of summer training due to a groin problem, but saw action against Port Adelaide and was underwhelming. Needs to get going.

4 VFL Steady game on a wing. Not massive numbers, but did what was required. -
5 VFL Did well across half back and also in midfield. 25 possessions and seven tackles. -
6 VFL Did well at half back with 21 touches and three score assists. -
7 WB Didn’t have a major say in the match. 2
8 Frem Used ball well of half back and got into some good positions to win the footy. Only 12 disposals but something to build on. 4
9 VFL Used the ball well when he got it, but floated in and out. -
10 VFL Slow start but was better after the main break. Had 15 touches. -
11 VFL Tigers best with 29 touches, 12 marks, seven inside 50s and seven tackles. -

13 VFL Just the 12 touches, but did lay eight tackles – which is a big improvement. -
14 VFL Got a bit of the ball, but appeared hampered by a leg issue. -

16 VFL Booted an early goal and was steady throughout the afternoon. -
17 VFL Fairly composed performance. Had 22 disposals at 82 per cent. -
18 GWS Youngster played down back and worked into the game pretty well. Able to showcase his speed at times. 5

20 Haw Five kicks for two goals and copped a heavy knock that splattered his face. 4
21 Geel Didn’t realise he was playing until he touched the pill late in the 2nd term. No influence at all. 2

QF VFL Handy without starring, but didn’t kick the ball as well as he normally does. -
SF VFL Impressed in midfield with his harder edge – had 10 contested possessions. -
PF VFL Superb in heartbreaking GF loss to Port. 23 possessions, seven tackles and five inside 50s. -

1 Carl Just three first-half touches but kicked steadying goal in third term. Fair. 4
2 Coll Just six touches and couldn’t get into the game at any stage. Back to the VFL? 2
3 Adel Was he out there? Really struggling to get involved at the moment. A VFL spell looms. 1
4 WCE Had a crack. Just couldn’t hurt the Eagles when he had the ball. 5
5 Melb Poor kid is getting crucified playing down back. Lacks the strength to match opponents at this stage. 2
6 Port Continued apprenticeship down back. Kicked it well, but lost opponent a bit. 4
7 Haw Youngster had five rebounds from 50, the most of any Tiger. On Puopolo at first. 5
8 Syd Growing with each week in defence. Not always solid, but will benefit from experience. 5

10 Ess Ball use from the back half a feature of a handy effort. Played a role without starring. 5
11 NM Got caught out by Boomer, but battled on and will learn from the night. 4
