1 Adel Nearly paid dearly for one of the worst kicks backwards fortunately for him Betts missed. 4
2 GCS Mopped up well at times in the back half and gradually got involved more and more in attacking transition. 5
3 NM Older-style defender, looks a little ragged but effective nonetheless. 6
4 Port Used in the front half and worked hard defensively, but wasn’t much of a factor as an attacking threat. 4
5 Syd Nothing out of the ordinary, but was steady and played his role. 5
6 WB Defended really well and used the ball to advantage of teammates in what was a key performance in the victory. 7
7 StK Copped knee injury after landing awkwardly and his night was done before quarter-time siren had sounded. Fear is ACL. 1

2016 Season

1 Melb Made one costly mistake but did try and make something happen off half back. 5
2 Geel Great battle with McCarthy and took honours. Finding his feet as a senior regular. 6
3 Syd Put his body on the line countless times in the backline. 5
4 Port Rebounded exceptionally well out of defence to set up a lot of the Giants’ play. 5
5 StK The quietest of the Giants in role across half back. Didn’t do anything wrong though. 4
6 Haw Had job on Puopolo and other than a few small lapses did a steady job. 6
7 Frem Good on the ground and took two contested marks which belied his size. 6
8 GCS Spent most of his time on Matera in an even battle. Used the ball well out of backline. 5
9 WB Valuable backman who performed admirably on a number of opponents. 6
10 Adel Fell heavily on his neck and shoulder after a marking contest late in the game. 3

14 NEAFL Consistent all day in the back half, making good decisions by foot and rebounding seven times.

17 Bris Started on Hanley on a wing and eight touches in last quarter made his stats look more palatable. 5

19 Rich Late inclusion for Haynes fulfilled his role down back. 5
20 NEAFL Responded well to being dropped. Outstanding with ball use.
21 WCE Spent long periods opposed to Hill and did well until being knocked out in dangerous tackle. 6
22 NEAFL Strong contributor in backline. Finished with a team-high five rebounds.

QF NEAFL One of the Giants best in the back half. Rebounded the ball constantly.

2 NEAFL 22 touches and worked hard throughout the game.
3 NEAFL Kicked a goal and worked hard in a number of roles.
4 NEAFL Played his part in defence and midfield.
5 NEAFL Did well running off half back in loss to Thunder.
6 Haw First hit-out for the year and had little impact. 3
7 Carl Did his job in defence. No fuss type of player. 6
8 Adel Cameron was unable to shake him all day. 6
9 WB Like many others, he made little mark on the game. 2
10 NEAFL Good in patches after being dropped from seniors.
11 NEAFL Competed hard and won a fair share of footy.
12 NEAFL Battled hard but wasn’t a big factor.

14 Rich Used down back and did a reasonable job. Five rebound 50s. 6

1 Syd Kicked vital late goal and had a good game. 6
2 StK Good game across four quarters. 6
3 Melb Started on Bail and did a few things. 3
4 WB Just the 10 touches and wasn’t as clean as he would have liked to be. 3
5 Adel Rebounded well out of the defensive 50. 5
6 GCS Had 14 touches and was solid. 5
7 Port The no-fuss defender used the ball at a game-high 92.3 per cent. 6
8 WCE One of the few Giants to be able to hold their heads high. 6
10 Rich Even battle with Edwards who wasn’t a major player for the Tigers. 5
11 Haw Did a fine job on Breust for much of the game. Worked hard throughout. 6
12 Ess Worked hard in defence. 5

14 Carl Returned from a shoulder injury and put in a solid shift off halfback. 5
15 Syd In his second game back from a shoulder injury he had little impact. 4
16 Adel Crunched back by Walker late in day. Had a fairly good game. 6
17 Frem Kept workrate up and tried to provide something. Certainly not the worst. 5
18 Geel Found plenty of ball from the back half and ran hard to create for teammates. 6
19 Rich Swept across half back well at stages to play a nice role. 6
20 NM Did a good job on Thomas to keep him off the scoreboard. 7
21 Melb Steady down back on variety of opponents. Didn’t make mistakes. 6
22 Coll Did some good things in defence but wasn’t a big factor. 4

1 Syd Efficiency down which thwarted his attempts to impact the contest. 5
2 Port Matched on Monfries from the start and kept at his task. 5
3 StK Had a busy time minding Saad, but again showed capacity to be a 10-year player. 5
4 Melb Solid game as a small defender and provided some rebound. 5
5 GCS On Matera who had minimal impact so he must have been effective. 5
6 NEAFL Bye.

8 Haw Racked up good stats and is coming along nicely. 5
9 WCE A good ball user but had a tough time against the rampant West Coast forwards. 5
10 Carl Won his fair share of the ball and wasn’t disgraced. 6
11 Geel Flitted in and out of the game but by last quarter was out on his feet. 3
12 Port Had Hitchcock early and did well before being moved. Just the one tackle though. 5
14 NM Had task on Thomas (four goals) but he stuck to a difficult task as best he could. 4
15 WB Had a day he would prefer to forget. 3
16 NEAFL Ran through midfield and spent time forward. Had an impact.

18 Coll Sub. On early for Mohr and impressed with his workrate and willingness to tackle. 5
19 Melb Good battle with Kent. Even contest with both players having their moments. 6
20 Frem On Walters and Ballantyne and actually did a solid job. 6
21 Bris Low disposals did not match his enthusiasm and running. 4
22 Rich Did a reasonable job opposed to King and used the ball cleanly. 6
23 GCS Good output and kicked a goal as reward for his efforts. 6

2012 Season

1 Syd Another to read play well coming off half back. Excellent game. 7
2 NM On Thomas at times and was stout in defence. 5
3 WCE Did a good job minding Hams and picked up 20 touches himself. 6
4 Adel Couldn’t curb the influence of Porplyzia or Wright. 4
6 Carl Did a fine job on Betts and showcased his great closing speed. Good. 6
7 GCS Likes it hard and tough and rebounded quite well of half back. 5
9 Ess Excellent start to the year but down before being subbed. 4
13 NEAFL Back from injury and got through unscathed.
14 Syd Brought on as a late sub, Kennedy didn’t have an impact. 2
15 Haw Battled hard under constant pressure. 3
16 Adel Another Giant who made a strong start before being worn down. 4
18 NEAFL Starred in a defensive role and some great run.
19 Port Has been a little down on his earlier form, but used the ball well. 3
20 GCS Did some nice things. 5
21 Melb Had an entertaining duel with Bail and just about broke even. 4
22 StK Hardly seen. 2
23 NM Will have learned plenty from his solid duel with Lindsay Thomas. 4
