2017 Digest:   Did some good things in first year at the club but didn’t feature in first two JLT Series game after an ankle in late January.

2017 Season

Played for : Melbourne

5 VFL Had 21 touches and six inside-50s to help Casey to a comfortable win over North Ballarat.
6 VFL In and out of the game, but ended with 25 possessions and four tackles. Handy enough.
7 VFL Wasted the ball a bit with his kicks, but won it well enough and tried hard throughout. 23 possessions.
8 VFL Worked hard enough but didn’t get great reward for his efforts in attack.
9 VFL One of the Demons best with 25 possessions and eight inside 50s. Much better outing.
10   Bye.  
11 VFL Important contributor in the end. 23 possessions, but also three key goals in tight contest.
12 VFL Relished game against old teammates and won a lot of the footy throuhg midfierld.
13   Senior emergency.  
14 VFL Superb in win. 35 possessions, five inside 50s and six clearances.
15 VFL Got a lot of the ball, but didn’t always hurt the opposition. 30 touches.
16 VFL Fantastic again and is enjoying a fine season. 32 possessions, seven clearances.
17 VFL Bye.
18 VFL Willed himself into the contest. Execution not at the level needed but generated some real contested possession. Had 28 disposals.
19 VFL Got a lot of attention from Coburg. Struggled to fight the tag, but at least he never stopped trying.
20 VFL Used at half forward with stints in the middle. 31 possessions and was a terrier all day.
21 VFL Kicked three goals and had 35 touches in a mighty display. Great energy all game.
22   Senior emergency.  
23 VFL Had 26 touches to continue his strong VFL season.

2016 Season

Played for : Melbourne

1 GWS Very good debut for new club. Worked hard in attack and was a key contributor in last term. 7
2 Ess Melbourne’s best in a four-quarter effort. Kicked three goals and positive with every movement. 7
3 NM A touch quieter than first two weeks, but still competed hard when ball in his area. 5
4 Coll Kicked goal of the day in first term and helped keep the midfield pressure on all afternoon. 6
5 Rich Quietest game for a few weeks. Failed to kick a goal and mustered four kicks. 3
6 StK Big second term and was a handy player all day. 6
7 GCS Got amongst the third quarter party with two goals. Tackling pressure was fantastic. 6
8 WB Two second-term goals and three inside-50s. Not a big influence but certainly not the worst. 5
9 Bris Good in patches pressing up from half forward and very good in early exchanges. 5
10 Port Tweaked ankle in warm up but took his place. Never able to get going though. 2
11 VFL Superb response to being dropped with three goals and 30+ possessions in midfield.
12 Coll Enjoyed victory over former team Played a part with seven inside-50s and heaps of touches. 7
13 Syd Started at half forward and unable to find space he has in past. 3
15 Adel A few good contests but unable to really influence the game off half forward. 4
16 Frem Quiet in an attacking sense but work-rate OK in front half. 4
17 StK Struggled to have an impact coming up from half forward, but wasn’t aided by overuse further afield. 4
18 VFL Responded well again to axing with 30 possessions and plenty of tackles.
19 VFL Huge outing at half forward and in midfield. 40 disposals and a goal.
20 VFL Super in final three quarters. Was in everything positive for Casey.
21 VFL Influential across half forward and through midfield. 24 touches.
22 VFL Unable to have normal impact across half forward.
23 VFL Very good across half forward with three goals – including the sealer.

2015 Season

5 VFL Looked rusty having missed a few weeks. Will be better for run.
6 VFL Starred in midfield with 29 possessions and two goals.
7 VFL Pressed claims for senior recall with strong display in win.

9 VFL In everything positive. 38 high-quality possessions
10 Melb Sub. Got his chance late in third term and gathered a handful of touches. 2
11 GWS Sub. On in final term and only had minimal involvement. 1
13 VFL Continues to find the footy at VFL level. 27 disposals.
14 VFL Helped gain the edge in middle for Pies. 29 disposals, five inside 50s.
15 VFL Good defensively with 13 tackles to go with 20 touches.
16 WCE Did his best to take his opportunity. A couple of good things. 4
17 WB Foot skills have dropped off markedly from juniors. Needs to lift. 4
18 VFL Good response to AFL axing with 31 possessions in loss.
19 VFL Very good around the stoppages and won a lot of the ball.
20 VFL 25 touches and two goals. Back to his best form at VFL level.
21 VFL Had ball on a string. 34 touches but wasteful in front of goal.
22 VFL Struggled to shrug Port tag but hand impact at times.
23 Ess Two great soccer goals but wasted other chances. Is he is future plans? 4

2014 Season

Played for : Collingwood

1 Frem Sub on early third term and buzzed around for eight disposals. Came on when game was all over. 2
2 VFL Strong showing in midfield. Knocking on the door.
3 PM Strong four-quarter effort against AIS. A big chance for senior call up.
4 VFL Slow start but got better after half time.
5 VFL Worked hard throughout but wasn’t a standout in midfield.
6 VFL Up and down outing. Good at times, but made some costly errors.
7 Carl Sub came on at last change and got amongst it. 1
9 VFL Dominated the second term and ended with 31 disposals.
10 VFL Strong worker in midfield. 27 possessions and a goal.
11 VFL Bye.
12 VFL Good afternoon and had a massive final term.
13 VFL One of the Magpies best in loss to Sandringham.
14 VFL Best afield in loss to Footscray. Banging the door down for a recall.
15 Carl Sub. On late second term to replace Elliott and got right involved. 4
16 GCS Booted two goals and busy through the midfield. 5
17 Ess Sub came on in third quarter and had a few touches. Should have started? 2
18 Adel Sub. One effective disposal when eventually got a run in final quarter. 1
19 VFL Massive outing with 38 touches to respond to AFL axe.
20 WCE Scored early goal and two for game. He was visibly trying to lift his output. 6
21 Bris Visibly lifted his work-rate early but tired as game wore on. Tried hard. 5
22 VFL Hit the scoreboard from midfield. Two goals from 21 touches.
23 VFL 20 touches and a goal to be the Magpies best.

1 PM Had 19 possessions and was strong especially early.
2   Senior emergency.  
3   Didn’t play for Collingwood VFL.  
4 VFL Had 30 possessions and bored in all day.
5 VFL Damaging game with his long left foot. Good effort.
6 StK Sub came on late in third and showed plenty of dash and a neat left foot to boot. 2
7 Frem Tried hard to find space but first full game was against high-pressure outfit. 3
8 Geel On in final term but tough game to impact given the intensity. 1
9 Syd Sub came on in third term and bored in strongly. 3
10 Bris Sprayed a few by foot but continually got involved. 5
11 Melb Didn’t touch ball first term then worked into it. Nice work in close and 3 goals. 7
12 WB Good little worker. 5
14 Port Started as the sub and kicked a nice late consolation goal. 3
15 Carl Sub. Joined party late for a handful of disposals. 1

17 VFL Bored in all day and was damaging with space in front of him.
18 GWS Late inclusion for Ball and had no impact before being subbed out. 1
19 VFL Worked hard to pick up 22 possessions in midfield.
20 VFL Linked well through midfield to end with 23 possessions.
21 VFL Impressive display with 30 touches and seven clearances.
22 WCE Disposal let him down running into goal – seven inside-50s his major contribution. 7
