Dream Team Profile |
2014 Digest: A surprise winner of the 2013 Jack Dyer Medal. Progressed from a fringe player to one of the most valued members of the line-up due to his ability to take on big tasks and do the little things for his teammates. Kicking remains a question mark under pressure, but you cannot fault his effort and work-rate. Missed the Melbourne game due to groin soreness.
2014 NAB Cup: Still a week away after a hamstring problem over summer.

2013 Season
Played for : Richmond
1 | Carl | Rotated half forward/midfield and OK. Big numbers but kicking still a worry. | 7 |
2 | StK | Went with Hayes at times. Battled but he lacks polish to hurt opponent. | 4 |
3 | WB | Spent time on Cooney and battled hard. A brave competitor. | 6 |
4 | Coll | Gave very little. His disposal and decision making not up to scratch in big games. | 3 |
5 | Frem | Might be time for a stint in the VFL. Made more mistakes than Joan Collins. | 3 |
6 | Geel | Ran with Selwood at times and worked hard despite shortcomings. | 5 |
7 | Port | Got the ball inside 50 on five occasions playing on the wing. | 6 |
8 | Melb | Got a lot of footy and handy but again ran at below 65% efficiency. | 5 |
9 | Ess | Probably the Tigers’ best and never stopped trying. | 7 |
10 | WCE | Shadowed Gaff/Masten and did a good job. Kicked a long freak bouncing goal. | 7 |
12 | Adel | Shadowed Dangerfield and while beaten he kept offering something offensively. | 6 |
13 | WB | Can be scrubby at times by foot but stuck to his task strongly. Kicked a freak goal late. | 6 |
14 | StK | Strove very hard around the field. | 6 |
15 | NM | Started on Swallow but hampered by an early ankle issue. Tried hard in losing cause. | 5 |
16 | GCS | Huge task on Ablett and did it very well. Hurt the champ with two goals. | 7 |
17 | Frem | Spent time on Mundy and Fyfe and did a decent job while winning his own ball. | 6 |
18 | Syd | Tagged O’Keefe and although shaded, did well. | 6 |
19 | Haw | Two goals in final term to help kill off the Hawks. Six clearances. | 6 |
20 | Bris | A relentless work-rate meant he was unstoppable and crisp foot skills. | 9 |
21 | Carl | Battled hard and laid a game high eight tackles. | 7 |
22 | GWS | Kept Ward relatively quiet and found the ball well himself. | 7 |
23 | Ess | Got the better of Zaharakis and continued his fine season with another two goals. | 7 |
EF | Carl | Went to Murphy then to Judd as coach tried to plug holes. Never stopped trying. | 6 |

2012 Season
Played for : Richmond
1 | Carl | Gave usual wholehearted effort. Shown up for pace a couple of times. | 6 |
2 | Coll | Went to Shaw with a brief to negate his run. Succeeded fairly well. | 5 |
3 | Melb | Still prone to make the odd mistake but still played a part – 21 disposals. | 6 |
4 | Geel | Toiled away in the midfield for 14 disposals and a goal. Just. | 5 |
5 | WCE | Battles hard but lacks any creativity in his game. Why didn’t he tag Kerr? | 4 |
7 | Syd | Quiet game and committed some bad turnovers. | 4 |
8 | Ess | Given key run with role on Stanton. Not much impact until late in game. | 5 |
9 | Haw | You know things are going well when he’s kicking freak goals. Played a part. | 5 |
10 | StK | At various stages had negating forward role on Gram and Goddard. | 4 |
11 | Frem | Defensive on McPhee early then released into midfield and tried hard. | 5 |
12 | GWS | Kicked one handy goal but disposal again well below where it has to be. | 5 |
14 | Adel | Run with roles on Knights and Porplyzia and won his own footy. | 7 |
17 | NM | Ok (7 inside-50s) but only two contested possessions and one clearance. | 5 |
18 | Carl | Good start, but hurt in second quarter and subbed off in third. | 6 |
19 | Bris | Solid output from the experienced utility. Showed his versatility. | 6 |
20 | WB | OK at times but hardly a starring role. Why does he always go sideways? | 4 |
21 | Frem | Didn’t use the ball well. | 4 |
22 | Ess | Started in attack and did his bit. | 5 |
23 | Port | Won some footy but he isn't the bloke you want winning it. Can’t kick. | 4 |
