2017 Digest:   Club remain tight-lipped about his status. Hasn’t played JLT and if he doesn’t play this weekend won’t be there Round 1.

2017 NAB Cup:

2017 Season

1 GCS Had his hands full with Wright but stuck to the task, holding him to just the solitary goal. 6
2 Ess Didn't do enough for a key forward with only two marks and failed to even register a behind. 3
3 StK Stationed forward to start the game, but had to go back with Gardiner’s injury. Struggled. 4
4 Rich Did OK minding Caddy and Elton without being overly busy himself. 5
5 WB Great defensively opposed mainly to Stringer early but then Dogs started to get on top. One costly error gave up a goal late. 5
6 Port Torched by Dixon to whom he gave far too much space. 1
7 Syd Massive task on Franklin and was torn to shreds. Stiff to be left there all day though – was it a message? 1
8   Hand.
9   Hand.
10 Coll Forced to go into defence and was under siege all day. Made a few mistakes but has to be persisted with. 4
11   Bye.
12 Frem Lack of disposals did not so his game justice. Solid contributor. 6
13 Port Struggled to contain Paddy Ryder when he rested up forward. 4
14 GWS No match for Cameron in defence but went forward in last term where he bagged a goal. 5
15 Ess Again showed great talent in defence. Hurt when hauling down big mark second term, but had strong second half. 8
16 Geel Had a number of opponents including C. Guthrie. Like Andrews, always under siege but kept trying. 5
17 Rich Resolute down back at stages and marked well. Form is much better than it was earlier in the year. 7
18 Carl Stood strong against Curnow who was a handful after half time. 5
19   Shoulder.
20 WB Had the monumental task of minding Bontempelli. Far from lowered his colours. 5
21 GCS Better than his 10 disposals suggests. Worked well in partnership with Andrews and kept Schoenfeld to one goal. 6
22 Melb Had some troubles with Hogan who kicked three first-half goals and ended day with six. Not his day. 2
23 NM Strong at centre half back early and went down forward for a time in third quarter. 4

2016 Season

1 WCE Played on Darling and Kennedy. Fair to say it was a rough night. 3
2 NM Battled on against the North talls. OK. 5
3 Geel Played forward but struggled to get into the contest. One goal from three kicks. 2
4   Ill.
5 NEAFL Superb in defence with 14 marks and 28 touches. Deserves a call up.
6 Syd Got his hands to the ball enough but has to learn to McMark! 4
7 Port Good match-up on Westhoff but lost out on the day. 4
8   Groin.
9 Melb Lions’ best. Defended stoutly on Watts and got in the way when he could as third man across. 7
10 Haw Backed up previous week’s brilliant effort and performed well on Gunston in an even battle. 5
11 Carl Solid in key back role. Teamed with Merrett to keep a hold on Casboult. 5
12 Frem Tried hard in defence against a torrent of ball. 5
13 NEAFL Responded well to be being dropped – 15 marks and four inside-50s.
14 Rich Took some good marks and looks at home in back half compared to be trialled as a forward. 6
16 GCS Booted two goals and spent time in defence also. 5
17 GWS Had the job on Cameron and out-muscled and beaten in the air. 4
18   Leg.
19   Ankle.
20   Ankle.
21   Ankle.
22   Ankle.
23   Ankle.

2015 Season

1 Coll Kicked opening goal but not suited by wet and slippery conditions. 3
2 NM Not a big day. 3
3 Rich Bagged early goal but nowhere near the target forward the Lions are craving. 3
4 WCE Didn’t make the most of limited chances. Also needs to be more of a presence. 4
5 GCS Well held and too often outnumbered. Booted one goal. 3
6 Carl Three first-half goals and four for game. Looks a forward in the making. 7
7 Port Ball was in his half a fair bit, so two kicks for the match a little light-on. 4
8 Ess Hardly got a sniff in attack against Hurley. 3
9   Finger.
10   Finger.
11   Finger.
12 WB Looked dangerous up forward on Hamling. Impressive reach for marks. 6
13 Adel Tried to step it up in last term but too little too late. 4
14 Frem Given a lesson in body positioning by McPharlin. Good experience. 3
15 Syd Kicked first-quarter goal then output dried up completely. 2
16 Melb Could not get near it up forward and later switched to defence. Poor day. 2
17 NM Subbed-in in third term and hardly noticed. 3
18 Geel In a rough trot of form. Just five touches and no impact again. 2
19 GCS Worked well at both ends. Kicked two goals and shadowed Day. 6
20 Carl Honest performance across half back. 6
21 Adel Started in defence but shows much more potential as a key forward. 5
22 Haw Unsighted for long periods in attack. 2
23 WB Cut out by Roberts, but managed two goals. 5

2014 Season

1 PM Did well in a few contests. Has a bit to work with.
2 NEAFL Still learning but looking more comfortable as he gets more experience.
3 NEAFL Starred down back as a third tall defender.
4 NEAFL Outclassed by Dzufer and had to be moved.
5 NEAFL Looked a little bit better as he’s getting used to senior football.
6 NEAFL Provided some nice run off half back and took a nice grab as well.
7 NEAFL Bye.
8 NEAFL Tried him up forward but didn’t have much impact on the game.
9 NEAFL Played forward again and will view it as a good learning experience.
10 NEAFL Bye.
11 NEAFL Took a couple of nice grabs and gave some good run.
12 NEAFL Won some important one-on-one contests in his best game so far.
13 NEAFL Gave a bit of run again off half back like he did last week.
14 NEAFL Bye.
15 NM Just five disposals. No need to elaborate. 2
16 Rich Youngster did some fine work down back and showed glimpses of future. 6
17 WCE Struggled to really get in to the game. 5
18 GCS Not a major influence. 2
19 Melb Swung forward and kicked three goals to be a gamebreaker in attack. 6
20 Adel Big grab in opening term in goal square was his only real highlight. 5
21 Coll Limited touches but a couple of things he did oozed class. Will be a player. 4
22 Frem Only his eighth game and one to forget. 3
23 Geel Showed glimpses but not a huge influence on the game. One goal. 5
