2013 Digest:   After an early injury that put him out for six weeks he returned to his former role as a forward, and was also used effectively as a “shock-trooper” sub in the closing weeks of the season, which probably stung him. The 30-year-old faces an intriguing season but has had his best pre-season in five years.
