2017 Digest:   Back in running work after long rehab following ruptured achilles tendon. Now will embark on mini-pre-season to catch up.

5 VFL Played three quarters in the development league and was solid. Not far off VFL senior return.
6 VFL Got through another game in the development league and is nearing a senior VFL return.
7 VFL First senior VFL outings after injury and was handy, but looked a tad rusty too.
8 VFL Did a few encouraging things, but had a quiet day overall.
9 VFL Quiet game and still looks to be taking time getting back to top form.
10 VFL Just six touches down back and wasn’t at his best.
11 VFL Just going at present and still looks like he is adjusting back to playing footy.

8 VFL Not his best outing down back but is a work in progress.
9 VFL Had an up and down afternoon in the back half.

11 Adel Jenkins torched him but worse was to come when he injured Achilles. Stretchered. 1

3 VFL Beaten on the day but still did some good things.
4 VFL Strong game down back. Very good one-on-one.
5 VFL Had hands full on occasions but competed strongly.
6 VFL Defended well and picked right time to help rebound.

8 VFL OK down back after having a week off.
9 VFL Had hands full early but then took some great marks.
10   Senior emergency.  
11 VFL Started forward and had an impact. Faded in second half.

13 VFL Played at both ends and used strong body in the contests.
14 VFL Had nine touches and contested fairly well.
15 VFL Spoilt well in marking contests in defence.
16 Rich Debutant serviceable as defender minding resting talls. 4
17 Melb Second gamer worked hard down back. Subbed off last term. 5
18 Port Had demanding task on Ryder but stuck to his guns. 4
19 Frem More for his education against tall Freo forwards. Admirable persistence. 4
20 NM Held his own on Petrie in first half but North’s main forward got away. 5
21 Geel Started on Walker and did a good job then had time on bigger Hawkins. 5
22 Syd Picked up Tippett or Pike in defence then to forward line. 3
23 WCE Overpowered by resting rucks. Pushed forward to goal with only kick. Subbed. 1
