5 VFL The better of the two Tiger big men with nine disposals, 23 hitouts, but wasn’t a star on the day.
6 VFL Did most of the rucking duties and was solid in the loss. 31 hitouts.
7   Didn’t play for Richmond VFL.  
8 VFL Provided ruck support to Soldo and was too strong in the contests. Didn’t do much at ground level.
9 VFL Competed hard in the ruck to end with 42 hitouts. Not the worst.
10 VFL Put the ball on a plate at the stoppages for his midfielders. Still has a bit to give.
11 VFL Good duel with Preuss and ended with 22 hitouts and 15 touches. Not the worst.
12   Bye.  
13 VFL Played well in the ruck amassing 32 hitouts and providing a physical presence.
14 VFL Worked hard in time in ruck and booted a goal. Provided good leadership.
15 VFL Good in the ruck, but struggled when playing in attack.
16   Didn’t play for Richmond VFL.  
17 VFL Not many mistakes made but not a huge influence either. Just a meh game.
18 VFL Battled well against Cox. Had more hitouts to advantage, which shows he impacted the game.
19 VFL One of his best games this season. Took the game on, looked lively and even kicked a really nice goal.

21 VFL Backed up Hampson and was steady in a tight loss.
22 VFL Helped Hampson in ruck and was fair.

SF VFL Provided ruck support for Hampson and was okay at stoppages. Non-factor elesewhere.
PF VFL Helped out Hampson to win the ruck battle. Nearly went out on a high.

2016 Season

3 VFL Played three quarters and was strong on return from injury.
4 VFL Shared ruck duties again and was fair without starring.
5 Melb Out-gunned by Gawn although to his credit he never stopped trying. Nine hit-outs to advantage. 5
6 Port Played a bit up forward as well as stints in ruck. Battled to have any positive impact. 2
7 VFL Had the better of the ruck duels but didn’t get around the ground overly well.
8 VFL Got the better of Marshall and Stephenson in ruck duel. 36 hit-outs.
9 VFL Bye.
10 VFL The best of the ruckmen with 30 hit-outs and a goal but not at his peak.
11 VFL Got the better of ruck duel with Goodwin but midfield didn’t capitalise.
12 VFL Even duel in ruck with Preuss but didn’t do enough to warrant a senior recall.
13 VFL Bye.

15 Port Won the hit-outs but not to the advantage of his midfield. 5
16 VFL Made to work by Minson in the ruck. Couldn’t impact around the ground.

1 Carl Wore down opposition rucks with a hard grinding game. 7
2 WB Even battle with Minson in centre of ground. Nullified each other. 6
3 Bris Almost a lone hand in ruck. Good but could have done with some help. 5
4 Melb Enthralling battle with fellow ruck Jamar. Tried hard and broke even. 6
5 Geel Had the better of Simpson but at times was pushed off the ball easily. 6
6 NM Great battle with Goldstein. Broke even but neither had a big day. 5
7 Coll Got side back into game with a brilliant second term. Great game. 8
8 Port Led the Tigers’ clearances with seven. 8
9 Ess Led the game in clearances and smashed Bellchambers around ground. 8
10 Frem Kept the man mountain Sandilands honest in ruck contests. 5
12 WCE Battled hard but Naitanui’s athleticism was a marked contrast. 3
13 Syd Had the better of Derickx in ruck and bullocking work was back to best. 7
14 GWS Found Lobb and Downie tough to deal with and then got reported. 3

22 Ess Great battle against McKernan. Cracked in and got as good as he gave. 6
23 NM Wrong-footed to some extent by Daw’s start but then played solidly. 5
EF NM Beaten by Goldstein in the end and wasn’t the physical presence he can be. 5

13 Frem Battled hard but outgunned by Sandilands. Two marks and one goal. 3
14 Syd Hard toiler in ruck and in tandem with Hampson had the better of Derickx. 6
15 StK Had the edge in good battle with Longer and directed the ball better. 5
16 Bris Great battle with Martin. Both had their moments – 13 contested possessions. 6
17 Port Back to his 2013 form in the ruck. Wore down Lobbe to play a big role. 7
18 WCE Naitanui troubled him in ruck but wet helped nullify the advantage. 5
19 GWS Big effort in the ruck opposed to Mumford. Clearly the heart and soul of group. 7
20 Ess As the game wore on he wore Ryder down and a key late in the match. 7

1 Carl Catalyst of the midfield domination and was a key force – six clearances. 8
2 StK Kicked final goal but really struggled. Looked right out of sorts. 3
3 WB Controlled the ruck right from the first bounce. Kicked two goals also. 7
4 Coll Lowered colours again. Form has to be a huge worry for the coach. 3
5 Frem Better than previous weeks and won 11 contested poss. Didn’t always use ball well. 6
6 Geel Going OK until copped a leg injury in third term and was restricted. 4
7 Port Played second fiddle in the ruck to Stephenson and was good. 6

3 Melb OK in the ruck and provided a presence. Played his role. 5

5 WCE Great first half helped keep side in touch but faded against Naitanui. 6
6 Port Best afield with 46 hit-outs in his first game back at AAMI Stadium. 9
7 Syd Another good game. Dominated the ruck and found 17 touches. 7
8 Ess Head to head with Bellchambers. Got on top in second half. 7
