2017 Season

1 WCE Led by example in the middle in first game as skipper. Gained plenty of yardage and won his fair share of hard ball. 8
2 Geel Skipper only had nine effective disposals in a quiet day. Did lay seven tackles but needed to win more of the ball. 4
3 GWS Overcame any disappointment at the cheer squad spelling his name wrongly in game 150. Solid throughout. 7
4 WB Kicking off at times but won plenty of clearances and was a force in the engine room from start to finish. 7
5 Frem Tagged early and then hurt his knee. Kept fighting but couldn’t impact like he would have wanted. 6
6 GCS Came home strongly in last quarter and was instrumental in North producing a better finish than in past weeks. 6
7 Adel Threw his weight around in the contests and won his fair share of clearances. Solid without starring. 6
8 Syd Couldn’t get enough of a say in the action in the second term when Swan midfielders got away. 5
9 Melb Skipper’s penetrating kicking was a factor all day. Six clearances, four inside-50s and 20 disposals. 7
10 Carl Terrific skippers game. Hard at the pill, led his team in tackles and finished with a team high 29 touches. 8
11 Rich Mixed good and bad. Penetrating kicking worked at times but in third term he went missing when Tigers made their surge. 6

13 StK Tried to lift his side but his kicking was below normal standard and he strove in vain. 6
14 WB Skipper battled away to best of his ability. Five clearances and nine tackles but wasn’t a starring performance. 6
15 GCS Predominantly used across half back before moving into the midfield late in proceedings. 6
16 Frem The skipper kicked a goal in the third term but ball use was poor by foot. Had 28 touches, but not his best. 6
17 Port No presence around the stoppages when the game was still a contest. 4

19 Melb Returned from a week off and rolled up sleeves to help will his team forward in frenetic final term. 7
20 Coll Played as the deepest forward in the second half after getting a rib knock. Finished with five majors and was damaging. 8

22 StK Stationed mainly at half forward which promotes queries on fitness. Wasn’t a major factor. 4

2016 Season

1 Adel Massive effort netted seven clearances, 16 contested poss and five inside-50s. 8
2 Bris Excellent four-quarter performance. 7
3 Melb Willed himself to every contest in second half to help get Roos’ over the line. Laid 19 tackles! 8
4 Frem A bull in the middle of the ground. Set the tone with clearance work early on and kept pushing forward. 8
5 GCS In and around the contest as expected and booted a goal. 7
6 WB Strong game all through. Imposed himself from the start around the contests. 6
7 StK Important player around the field with unrelenting attack on the ball. 7
8 Ess Eight clearances, five inside-50s and 15 contested possessions ensured he was at forefront. 8
9 Carl In everything early and a driving force behind North’s win; 22 touches and two goals. 7
10 Syd Tried hard but only half his touches hit targets. Eight inside-50s but little good came of them. 6
11 Rich Displayed great work ethics in midfield and never relented. 6
12 Geel Battled away with five clearances, two goals but impact wasn’t enormous. 6
13 Haw Acting captain at the forefront of physical and chaotic start to the game. 7
14 Adel 15 contested possessions, nine tackles and a goal, typical Ziebell performance. 7
16 WCE Undid his good work with some poor discipline which cost goals. 6
17 Port Tried hard to lift his team to no avail, but is not kicking goals. 6
18 Coll Started at full forward and copped attention early. Better in second half. 6
19 StK Began in attack against Dempster and wasn’t a big influence. 4
20 WB Solid game without dominating the action. 5
21 Haw Battled hard after a quiet start. Five clearances and five inside-50s. 7
22 Syd Competed hard in the midfield. Gave forwards a lot of supply with eight inside-50s. 6
23 GWS Head to head with Griffen. Copped some friendly fire from Cunnington but trucked on. Good. 7
EF Adel Probably Roos’ best. Looked damaging when he got the ball. Five inside-50s. 8

2015 Season

1 Adel Not as influential as the last time he lined up against the Crows. 5
2 Bris Long kicking a feature. Usual forceful and creative input. 7
3 Port Subbed out in first term after collision with Wines. Off to hospital for chest scans. 1
4 Geel Cats tried to work him over but he still was able to contribute. 6
5 Haw Competed hard around the ball. Held his head above water. 6
6 Rich Clearance work out of middle first class. Solid. 7
7 Ess Huge throughout – 11 clearances, five inside-50s, 15 CPs. 8
8 Frem Won six clearances. Not in the class of previous games though. 5
9 Coll Didn’t have a huge day but was a bull in midfield and laid 11 tackles. 6
10 WCE Head-to-head with Priddis for a lot of game and thrived. Tough in contests. 8
11 Syd Only five effective disposals but did lift team in the third term. 5
12 GWS Intriguing battle with Ward in middle. Two hard nuts shared the points. 7
14 GCS Fought it out to the end. Booted a goal. 6
15 Geel Quiet one from the star. Defensively OK but not much going other way. 5
16 Ess Put cherry on top with final term goals to seal game. Hard worker. 7
17 Bris Quiet night with just 12 possessions. 4
18 Carl Comprehensively got the better of Bell to be one of the Roos’ major players. 7
19 Melb Eight inside-50s and four clearances kept him involved in the contest. 7
20 StK Reported and conceded important 50m but made a difference at full forward. 6

22 WB Contained in first half and wasn’t a major factor across the game. 5
23 Rich Stunned by hit late in game which left gash over eye. Worry for next week. 5
EF Rich Wasn’t the most influential player on ground but played his role in middle. 6
SF Syd North’s best in decisive first half even though disposal was down in efficiency. 7
PF WCE Pushed forward for early goal but unable to get hands on ball as much as needed. 5

2014 Season

1 Ess First half wasn’t any great shakes. Needed to lift but struggled to do so. 3
2 WB Kicked goal late after taking mark on Picken and came off battered. 4

6 Frem Combative effort on return to the team. Solid yet unspectacular. 6
7 GCS Worked into the game after a slow start. Solid worker. 7
9 Bris Consistent in midfield all four quarters. 6
10 Geel 12 contested possessions, four inside-50s, five clearances, five tackles. 6
11 WCE Solid game in the middle without being brilliant. 5
12 Rich Bounced back from a disappointing first half to produce a brilliant third term. 6
13 Adel Despite his four tackles and four clearances was unnoticed. 4
14 Melb Classy with what he did highlighted by six inside-50s and a goal. 7
15 Bris Dangerous in patches but not helped with leg injury in second half. 6

23 Melb Again spent a lot of time in attack. Two goals then ran through middle. 7
EF Ess Apart from third quarter he was not really a factor playing forward. 5
SF Geel Again did the trick when shifted forward late. Back to back goals crucial. 5
PF Syd Disappointing playing deep forward at times. Not enough touches to impact. 3

2013 Season

1 Coll High possession winner in middle early. 7
2 Geel Effectiveness down but workrate great as evidenced by 15 contested poss. 7
3 Syd Treated for hamstring in first term then battled on but not at his best. 4
4 Bris Grabbed several powerful marks. Reminds of Goddard. 7
5 Haw Flattened accidentally in clash with Hodge but kept going relentlessly. 7
6 Port Solid and applied pressure strongly. 5
7 WB Had 16 touches to half time. One of best on ground 8
8 WCE At the forefront of North’s effort for most of the game. Strong inside packs. 7
9 Adel Held up his end of the bargain with 12 cont poss and a team-high 10 tackles. 8

14 GWS Not his best game but offered something when required –five tackles. 5

18 Melb Hard at the contest and laid a game-high eight tackles. 6
19 Geel Attack on man and ball was first class and he really set the tone all night. 7
20 Adel Looked to badly hurt ankle in tackle. Stayed on but restricted. 5

22 Haw Slotted two thumping goals from outside 50m. North’s Patrick Dangerfield. 7
23 Coll A key with four goals, including two late in third term that generated momentum. 8

2012 Season

3 Geel Just eased himself back into footy with 27 disposals and four goals. 8
4 Syd A brilliant third quarter, but went missing for long periods. 5
5 GCS Soundly beaten by Hunt. 14 possessions at 34% efficiency. 2
6 WCE Won 14 contested possessions. Competed strongly. 7
7 WB At one stage his efficiency was 22%. Won’t want to repeat a poor effort. 3
8 Port Risked serious injury going back with the flight of the footy in second term. 7
9 Bris Looked hampered by back and was subbed off. 2
10 Haw Toiled away in the midfield but not his best outing. 5
12 GCS Down on his usual output but battled away. 5
13 Adel Big first quarter then hurt shoulder in second but kept going. 6
14 StK Consistent output in the midfield. 6
15 WCE Matched on Priddis and did OK until final term. 6
16 Carl Shadowed by Joseph and didn’t like the attention, but went hard again. 7
21 Coll Pumped after kicking goal late in third after clever pass from Harvey. 6
22 Frem Struggled to get into game in first half. Back problems in third. 4
23 GWS Failed to have much influence through the midfield for the Roos. 4
EF WCE Threw his weight around and among better Roos. Great in the third term. 8
