5 Rich Hurt shoulder in early bump and was in and out of the rooms. Didn’t come back after half time. 1

15 VFL Just eight touches, but was the best ruckman on the ground at the stoppages.

8 VFL Got the better of Holmes and Longer in ruck duels after penning new deal.
9 VFL Good battle with Pittonet in ruck. Had 32-hitouts and kicked an important goal.
10 VFL Bye.
11 VFL Dominated the stoppages putting the ball down Casey midfielder’s throats.
12 VFL Had a mammoth 82 hit-outs opposed to undersized opponents on a stoppage-heavy day.
13 VFL Magnificent effort from the big man in ruck (44 hit-outs) and resting up forward (four goals).
14 VFL Bye.
15 VFL Had 42 hit-outs in battle with Soldo in ruck. Not as dominated as he has been.
16   Senior emergency.  
17 VFL Marked the ball very strongly at times and had a great ruck duel with Minson.
18 VFL Injured in first half and played no further part.
19 VFL Overcame leg injury to end with 28 hit-outs and 11 possessions.
20   Didn’t play for Casey.

6 Syd Made Pyke look like Dean Cox at times. This level appears beyond him. 3
7 Haw Outpointed again in ruck. If he’s better than Jamar, Russian should retire. 2
8 WB Saw off Cordy in the ruck and instrumental in the first half. 6
9 Port Even duel with Lobbe in ruck. Kicked a rare goal in first term. 6
10 VFL Shared ruck duties with Jamar. OK with 26 hitouts.
11 VFL Good effort in tandem with Jamar. 31 hitouts, two goals.
12 Geel Combined with Gawn to dominate ruck. Mark and goal in attack a big bonus. 6
14 WCE Rotated through ruck but wasn’t the factor he was against Cats. 4
15 VFL Controlled ruck with 60 hitouts but not much at ground level.
16 VFL Shared ruck role with great effect. Two goals, 25 hitouts.
17 VFL Couldn’t get marks to stick in attack. Just fair in ruck.
18 VFL Double-teamed Daw in ruck but wasn’t able to curb the Roo.
19 VFL Combined to outclass Pittonet but midfield did make hay.
20 VFL Tried valiantly in loss. 38 hitouts and six marks.

2 WCE Smashed in the ruck by Cox, Naitanui and Sinclair. 1

4 Carl Worked super hard in a great battle against Warnock. Did well. 5
5 GCS Even battle in the ruck with Nicholls but gave zilch around the ground. 4

5 VFL Rucked fairly well opposed to Wood and Campbell.
6 Carl Beaten in the ruck but his work ethic could not be questioned. Tried very hard. 4
7 GCS Gave his all but does he have the necessary skills and polish to be AFL ruckman? 3
8 VFL Battled a bit in the ruck. Tried hard but lacks polish.
9 VFL Good battle with Simpson and Vardy. OK without starring.
10 VFL Started forward and finished with 1.3 as well as 25 hit-outs.
11 VFL Really well against the Pies three rucks. 26 hitouts, three goals.
12 VFL Bye.
13 StK Crash into McEvoy saw him reported but also eliminated main rival. Will be a player. 6

3 VFL First game back from knee injury. Tried hard.
5 VFL Beaten by Goldstein in the ruck. Still gaining match fitness.
6 VFL Battled well against Stephenson to give onballers first use.
7 VFL Impressed in the ruck and gave Casey mids first use.
10 VFL Did well in the ruck against a few lesser lights.
11 VFL Rucked well against the Magpies four talls.
13 VFL Beaten in the ruck by Sikora but tried hard.
14 Bris Smashed when in the ruck. Isn’t up to this level. 2
15 Rich Couple of nice efforts from the big bloke but not really a factor. 3
16 VFL Huge with 45 hit outs as well as kicking the winning goal.
17 Port Had most demanding role as lead ruckman and shared honors with Lobbe. 5
18 NM His chase of the speedy Matt Campbell in the third term was a highlight. 3
19 GCS Did some good things in the ruck and is starting to find his feet. OK. 5
20 StK Young ruck beaten but showed encouraging signs at times. 4
21 GWS With 24 hit-outs and 15 touches, had a good battle with Giles in the ruck. 5
22 Adel Did most of the ruck work but battled to keep up with Jacobs. 3
23 VFL One of the better performers in the ruck. Tried hard.
