2017 Season

1   Ill.
2 Rich Returned on a wing but still looks (and plays) like a first-year player. Lacks penetration in his play. 2
3   Senior emergency.
4 VFL In and out of the game without his usual impact at this level in midfield.
5 VFL Okay without having a big impact overall in heavy loss to Essendon. 18 possessions.
6 VFL Played off half back and wasn’t as efficient as Pies would have liked. Just 50 percent efficiency from eight kicks.
7 VFL Steady outing with 25 possessions in midfield and across half back. One of the few Pies winners.
8 GWS Even in his 49th AFL game he still looks like a first-year player, although did pick up the tempo a little. 3
9 Haw Started on a wing and while he gets to the ball OK he’s just not a factor at this level. Off with hit to cheekbone. 2
10   Cheekbone.
11   Cheekbone.
12 Melb Steady effort highlighted by four clearances, a goal and six score involvements. Didn’t star but played a role team. 6
13   Bye.
14 Port Mixed good bad. Helmet makes him look smaller than he is. Looked slow at times and will be nervous at team selection. 3
15 VFL Just fair with 19 possessions and a couple of clearances.
16 VFL One of the Magpies best on a wing and through the middle. 28 touches and a goal.
17 VFL Started behind the contest and finished with just 10 disposals at 50 per cent efficiency. Moved ok, though.
18   Concussion.
19 VFL Showcased his contested prowess and led the way in midfield with 27 disposals, five inside 50s and seven tackles.
20 VFL Very good in midfield. 23 possessions, seven clearances, 13 tackles and seven inside 50s.
21 Port A maybe game for James Aish, did some effective work with the ball in hand, needs to find more of the footy. 5
22 Geel Struggled to get into the game playing a defensive midfield role. Grabbed 16 possessions for the day. 4
23 Melb Had some iffy moments, but played a role in the end. 5

2016 Season

1   Played in VFL trial against Coburg.
2 Rich Looked a yard off the pace and gained minus 10 metres for his team. One goal. 2
3 StK Struggled for second week in a row. When he did get the ball he did very little damage with it. 2
4 Melb One contest early wasn’t acceptable. Struggling and then injured shoulder and restricted. 4
5 Ess Form is a concern. Six kicks and only two inside-50s. Back to VFL? 3
6   Senior emergency.
7 Carl One kick (ineffective) in first three quarters after starting on wing. Not sure he’s going to make it. 2
8 VFL Responded well to AFL axing with 22 possessions in hard-fought win.
9 VFL Solid outing in midfield with 24 disposals and three inside-50s.
10 VFL Bye.
11 VFL Good return to form with 25 possessions, but highlight was his defensive work.
12 VFL Huge effort in conditions that one would expect him to struggle in. Put up hand for recall.
13 VFL Bye.
14 Frem Started on Pearce and neither had an impact. 3
15 Carl Arguably his best game in the Collingwood colours. Something to build on. 6
16 GWS Couple of handy efforts but still needs to do more. 4
17 Adel Has added a tougher edge to his game to complement his outside skills. 6
18 NM Did a few things and certainly finding his feet but still more is expected. 5
19 WCE His best game in black and white stripes. Two goals and put head over the ball when needed. 7
20 Rich Took some nice marks and found space for two goals. Getting better. 7
21 WB Excellent form in first quarter on wing. Starting to live up to expectations. 7
22 GCS Quiet night in big win, but defensive work good – five tackles. 5
23 Haw Injured hamstring in second term and day was done. 1
