2017 Season

1 Rich Struggled early but after half time did some things that would have pleased fans and coaches. 3
2 Melb Kicked his first goal in the final term and laid four tackles. Just a game. 4
3 Ess Got into some good spots but fumbled the opportunities. Fact he was there is a good sign. Ended day with 11 disposals. 4
4 GCS Kicked a goal and showed speed and tricks at times, but another who struggled to play four quarters. 3
5 Port His best play of the night came in the first term when he burst down the wing, unfortunately he ran too far without bouncing. 3
6 VFL Poor outing from the recently dropped small forward. 10 touches and no goals. Needs to be better.
7 VFL Up and down outing. Kicked a goal and was handy in parts, but made some low-percentage decisions too.
8 VFL Stationed down back and gave good drive from defence.
9   Didn’t play for Northern Blues.

12 VFL Kicked a goal and tackled hard in the forward 50 to keep the ball in the scoring area.
13 VFL Good outing. Had an impact consistently to end with 17 touches, two goals.
14 Rich Applied decent pressure, but didn’t get much of the Sherrin. Ran under late Gibbs pass which was a momentum sapper. 3
15 VFL Quiet day in the front half. One goal, but wasn’t ever a factor.
16 VFL Had a hand in a few goals and did some good things.
17 VFL Body language makes him seem disinterested at times. Showed glimpses of class, though.
18 VFL Showed enough with his chase and tackle efforts to suggest he was engaged in the contest.
19 VFL Exciting game. Showed real dash and was clean with the ball in hand. Craft was on display as well.
20 Ess Showed a couple of glimpses of his talent. Chase and tackle on McDonald-Tipungwuti was a highlight of his day. 4
21 WCE Only 10 touches but plenty of them were memorable. His speed was important. 6
22 Haw Lit the joint up with electrifying pace and clean ball handling. Top off a great night with 2 goals. 7
23 Syd A “nearly” night again. Does things that others can’t do but just needs to find the confidence and the consistency. 4

4 NEAFL Sloppy then injured ankle/leg in marking contest and playing no further part.

3 NEAFL Did some good things but yet to hit any great heights.
4 NEAFL Showed dash and creativity on fringes. Two goals.
5   Senior emergency.  
6 NEAFL Dangerous in space with two goals from 15 touches.
7 NEAFL One of the quieter Giants in dominant win. 12 touches.
8 NEAFL Drove the ball six times into attack. Gradually improving.
9 NEAFL Bye.
10 NEAFL A livewire at half forward with four smart goals.
11 NEAFL Quiet for long periods at half forward.
12 NEAFL Couldn’t get into the game at all. Just four touches.
13 NEAFL Bye.
14 NEAFL Best game in a few weeks with 20 touches and two goals.
15 NEAFL Made the most of his 10 touches with three goals.
16 NEAFL Not big numbers but kicked two goals.
17 NEAFL Finished his opportunities off well in front of goal. Three majors.
