2017 Digest:   Half-back flyer has taken training to a new level and looks a million bucks. Speed and daring are similar to Jason Johannisen.

2017 Season

1	StK	Good breakaway pace and willing to run hard with the ball.	7
2	Carl	Took a while to get his free-running game off half back going. Not his best outing but was okay.	6
3	Geel	Rebound from the back half provided great drive for the team. Always keen to attack and among the Dees’ best.	8
4	Frem	Bigger impact than his stats suggests. Always positive and looked to take the game on and recovered superbly in defence.	7
5	Rich	Slashed his way through the middle off half back and booted a sparking goal on the run. What a late pick he’s turning out to be.	8
6	Ess	Started in the bench, but came on and had a few eye-catching runs. Seemed to run out of puff a bit late.	5
7	Haw	Copped shoulder early but returned. Provided a spark with two goals in third term after pushing forward. Dangerous when got it.	7
8	Adel	Went to tackle Sam Jacobs strongly in the third term, unfortunately Hunt’s head hit Jacobs shoulder and he was carried off.	4
9	NM	One dashing run (kick ended as a clanger) but for the most part was quiet. Only 12 possessions not enough.	3
10	GCS	Really broke the game open after half time with his run off half back.	5
11		Bye.
12	Coll	Massive at times with key dashes down Members wing. Final product could be better, but his energy willed the team forward.	7
13	WB	Kicked the ball much better this week, but spent time off the ground after landing heavily in third term	6
14	WCE	Wasn’t able to find the space to run. Only 14 touches.	4
15	Syd	Started forward to provide speed and pressure, then went back. Kicked one, but not his best.	3
16	Carl	Didn’t find space to launch his run and had a quiet one by his standards; 12 effective disposals.	4
17	Adel	Did some good things running off half back and launched a massive goal after three quarter time siren. Not the worst.	6
18	Port	Plenty of dash as always and important when Dees flew out of the gates. At times bombed the ball.	6
19	NM	Slow start, but had big finish to second quarter. Late turnover sealed Dees fate.	6
20	GWS	Ditched the long sleeves at half time but was never a factor. Dees missed his burst.	2
21	StK	Blinding speed of half back in the first term helped set the tone. Always looked to take the game on.	7
22	Bris	Made some bad decisions in the final term that cost goals at the other end. Had better outings.	4
23	Coll	Gave good drive off half back through the guts and pace worried the Pies all day.	7

2016 Season

1		Played in Casey intra-club.
2		Played in VFL trial against Box Hill.
3	VFL	Grew in confidence as the game wore on. Was running everywhere in the second half.	–
4	Coll	First-gamer did some nice things and didn’t look out of place. Stats not huge but no mistakes a positive.	5
5	Rich	Kid did some good things at half back and while stats modest he certainly holds his place.	4
6	StK	Took the game on, but not a big impact.	3
7	GCS	Slipped under the radar to make a good contribution.	6
8	WB	Quiet one from half back. Touched the ball nine times.	2
9	Bris	Took the game on from half back and one to play with speed for four quarters.	6
10	Port	Tried to provide run off half back when others were flat-footed. Had a dip.	6
11	Haw	Tried hard at half back. Took the game on and showed plenty to be excited about.	6
12	Coll	Took Blair/Varcoe and ok defensively but worked off to be a factor with offensive rebound.	6
13	Syd	Blanketed Heeney and provided great dash off half back. A great find for the Dees.	7
15	Adel	Provided super run off half-back including a great goal in second term. One to watch.	7
16	Frem	Gave run off half-back again and put head over ball when required. Continued fine form.	8
17	StK	Great run in first half then quiet when Saints surged. Moved forward after half time for little impact.	4
18	WCE	Showed plenty. Hard at contests and made good decisions.	6
19	GCS	Broke the lines off half back to give some drive and won some key contests in final term.	6
20	Haw	Run and rebound there in spurts but only nine kicks. Played a role.	5
21	Port	Eight inside-50s and five rebound-50s, used his speed well off a wing.	7
22	Carl	Had Armfield and provided great dash off half back – including superb running goal early.	7
23	Geel	Battled hard but difficult to run off and create when ball coming in sideways.	5
