2017 Season

1 WB Fine aerialist's game at half back with 11 marks, some of them superb. Becoming a real asset. 8
2 Rich His proprioception (look it up) is the best in the league. In All-Australian nick as a defender with the lot. 8
3 Syd Cut off Sydney attacks well after half time. Picks the right time to sag off opponent and impact the contest. 8
4 StK Excellent first half, often under high balls nullifying Riewoldt. Ten marks, five tackles. 7
5 Ess Intercept work first class again and won’t be far off the Copeland Trophy on his present trajectory. 8
6 Geel Didn’t take a hanger which was slightly disappointing for fans. Did his job from half back without starring. 6
7 Carl Couple of nice grabs but mistake on half-time cost a goal and down on previous output. 4
8 GWS Mostly took Johnson, and found it hard intercepting on a mature opponent, but still a contributor. 5
9 Haw Another staunch display with 13 marks at half back. They’d love to be able to play him forward. 8
10 Bris Quiet in terms of offensive production and no screamer which was disappointing for fans desperate for a highlight. 5
11 Frem Took three contested marks and had 20 touches in defence. Stood tall. 7
12 Melb Thrilled crowd with a couple of screamers, including mark of the year contender in second term. Played his role well. 7
13   Bye.
14 Port Another strong performance from the exciting defender; 27 possessions. Is very much on target for All Australian. 7
15 Haw Duryea went to him as a defensive forward and kicked two goals on him. Ended with 23 touches but not his best effort. 5
16   Calf.
17 GCS Ok in return from injury, with Suns looking to make him accountable at all times. 5
18 WCE Yeo went to him early but that match-up faded. All-Australian standard becoming the norm. 7
19 Adel Won the aerial dual against early against McGovern and mopped up any Crows wayward attacks in the first half. 7
20 NM Rolled off opponents and intercepted the footy well all night. One of the game’s rare clean ball users. 6
21 Port Struggled with the much more mobile Port Adelaide small forwards. 5
22 Geel Had Menzel. No hangers and was quiet offensively with 14 possessions for the day. 5
23 Melb Customary Members Wing hanger to round off the year again former club. Played his part down back. 7

2016 Season

16 GWS Excellent game in defence and never challenged by opposing forwards. 7
17 Adel Has found his niche across half back where he can utilise his skill set. 7
18 NM Couple of miskicks out of defence early were costly. To forward line in last term 5
19 WCE Didn’t have a massive impact behind the play as a plus one, but no glaring mistakes. 5
20 Rich Used at half back and did a few good things without going crazy. 5
21 WB Defender was quiet in first half, but better later on. 6

21 Carl Marking time rather than marking kicks. 3
