1	Melb	Good and aggressive first half before leaving the field with a leg injury	4
2	WCE	Had 18 touches in the back half but missed the target with a few. Faded late under increasing pressure.	5
3	Bris	Used his raking left boot well in the early stages of the game at half, but drifted from the game at times in second half.	6
4	Coll	Took Elliott for the most part and kept him under a tight rein; 25 possessions and a brace of tackles.	7
5	Geel	Swept behind the ball brilliantly early in the match and while faded late he was among the better Saints.	7
6	Haw	Freed up at half back and was extremely influential when the game was there to be won early. Much improved player.	8
7	GWS	Got a great ability to find the ball playing a kick behind the play. Hit the target with 21 of his 29 disposals to be among best.	8
8	Carl	Went down early with a hand injury and didn’t return.	1

12	Adel	Showed some grit and was prepared to get in the face of the Crows forwards all game.	6
13	NM	Okay at half back with some efforts, but not a big night.	4
14	GCS	Not a big day and his normally reliable kicking was astray like most around him.	4

18	Syd	Solid game without taking control at half back.	4
19	Port	Served the Saints well across halfback and won a lot of the ball.	6
20	WCE	Had a lot of the ball at half back but was often caught on his wrong foot which reduced his effectiveness.	6
21	Melb	Allowed Dees half forwards too much room early, then gave Hannan space in first term at key times.	4
22	NM	Quieter game than usual at half back and didn’t have usual impact with kicking .	4
23	Rich	Running defender struggled despite stats sheet suggesting 18 possessions. No impact on flow of game.	4

2016 Season

1	Port	Went off the ground after a clash of heads with Dempster but was OK down back.	5
2	WB	Bite off more than he can chew on occasions. At least he tried to take the game on.	5
3	Coll	Defended stoutly and tried hard to provide some run from the back half. Solid effort.	7
4		Quad.
5	GWS	Did very well when moved onto much bigger Patten.	6
6	Melb	Quieter game in defence than usual but still contributed.	5
7	NM	Often found himself on much taller forwards but did a strong job.	6
8	WCE	Not a game he would like to remember in defence.	3
9	Ess	Had a comparatively quiet day in defence but did manage a couple of neat moves.	4

11	Adel	Late inclusion for McKenzie and showed a bit at times.	5
12	Carl	Happy to engage physically with Carton and was strong and positive off half back.	6
14	Geel	Strong in defence without getting a heap of the ball.	4

9	Bris	Low-profile first half but got better.	5
10	Haw	Excellent tracking job on Rioli and got a lot of the ball himself.	6

13	WB	Hurt shoulder early but got strapped and kept going.	4

15	GWS	Picked up Palmer and was solid.	5

17	Melb	Well on top of Garlett early. Heavy knock sidelined him for a while but came back.	6

20	NM	Well on top of Thomas initially, but then it got hard in third quarter.	5

1	Melb	All right without being exceptional before knock to leg and subbed off.	4

3	WCE	On the much bigger Darling and stuck to his task.	5
4	Adel	Couldn’t quell Petrenko and had a quiet game.	3
5	Ess	Showing plenty as a running half back.	6
6	Bris	Taylor got away from him early but he tightened up.	5
7	Haw	On Rioli and held firm early, but then the Hawk got away.	4
8	Carl	Started on Ellard and didn’t have big impact.	3
9	GCS	Matched up on Russell and held his own.	5

12	VFL	Classy effort after club suspension. 19 disp. at half back.	–
