4 VFL Dominated in midfield and pushed forward to hit the scoreboard as well. Too good for VFL footy.
5 VFL Not as good as his first-up effort in the VFL, but trucked on for four quarters.
6 VFL Another big performance in his final game on suspension. Won’t be in VFL much longer with 32 disposals and two goals.
7 Carl Got involved quickly in return game with an early goal (two for the match) at half forward. 5
8 GWS Bobbed up here and there but only one kick to half time and not influential. Blew a running shot in final term. 3
9 Haw One touch in first 40 minutes not enough. Vigour on Hodge about his only value. 3
10 Bris Quiet one. Hardly sighted early then found a little bit of it after half time; 15 touches and only two inside-50s. 3
11 Frem When the team was struggling to kick accurately, he stepped up. Booted two and had 23 touches. 7
12 Melb Clean and confident with what he did for most part. Slotted a ripping set-shot goal in final term; 18 possessions, two goals. 7
13   Bye.
14 Port Jagged brilliant goal in second term and did a few good things. Five clearances and 10 contested possessions. 6
15 Haw Kept Pies in it with strong 18-disposal first half and kept it going to end with 32 in arguably best performance as a Magpie. 8
16 Ess He at looked like class when he got it and generally good things happen. Just didn’t get enough of it; 14 disposals. 5
17 GCS Great four quarter contributor, with 27 possessions and eight clearances. 6
18 WCE Split the game open in second half. More damaging in forward line than midfield. Finished with four match-winning goals. 8
19 Adel Couldn’t back his breakout game from last week but still managed seven inside-50’s. 5
20 NM One of Pies’ best. A strong link between the midfield and forward line. Rarely made a mistake with the footy. 7
21 Port Never got going, his touch wasn’t right and fumbled under pressure. 3
22   Hip.

2016 Season

1 Syd Onball and forward, five tackles indicated his desire, but not enough of the ball. 4
2 Rich Five inside-50s but struggling to replicate pre-season form. Two clearances. 4
3 StK Three inside-50s and two goals but for long periods he went missing. Hasn’t found form of last year. 4
4 Melb Half forward/midfield but again struggled to get into the contest. Out of form. 4
5 Ess Found some form after struggling early in year. Four inside-50s and a goal. 7
6 WCE Never really got going. His possessions didn’t hurt. 4
7 Carl Fumbly early and didn’t cover the ground as well as last season. Looked a bit heavy-legged. 5
8 Bris Wayward kicking for goal (1.3) prevented him from converting a good game into a great one. 7
9 Geel Nearly best game of the year – five clearances, three inside-50s and a goal. 6
10 WB Winger ran hard to create options. 5
11 Port Started on a wing opposed to Polec then spent time at half forward. Stagnated this year. 4
12 Melb Worked hard for five inside-50s and three clearances but not a massive impact. 5
14 Frem Plenty of hard work in the middle, particularly early. 4
15 Carl Played a supportive role through the middle and won a bit of the pill. 5
16 GWS Getting involved, especially early in games, but rarely incisive with his disposals. 5
17 Adel Played his part in the midfield rotations with three clearances. 6
18 VFL Bye.
19 WCE Unable to break into space and only had three kicks. Suffering second-year blues. 3
20 VFL In everything early then drifted out a touch before finishing strong.
21 WB In and out of the game in attack. 5
22 GCS Started in attack and was a good option on lead and inside 50. Kicked three goals to be a handful. 7
23 Haw Two first-term goals but effort petered out to a degree. Three inside-50s. 5

2015 Season

1 Bris Made debut when subbed on in third term. Should be content with contribution. 2
3 VFL Strong worker in tough conditions in Magpie midfield.
4 VFL Strong four-quarter performer in VFL loss.
5 VFL Probably Pies’ best. Had an impact when it mattered most.
6 VFL Big first three terms helped set up Pies’ win.
7 Rich Looked confident and lively around the ball with tackle pressure. 4
8 GCS Not a big influence, but played full game, got involved and continues to develop. 3
9 NM Sub. Caught a few times after coming on but go hands on ball. 2
10 Melb Looked a yard off the pace. Kicking let him down when he got it. 3
11 GWS Subbed out in final quarter with hand issue. Cracked in when had chance. 4
13 Frem Made a couple of classy moves. Great experience. 4
14 Haw Impressive first quarter and one of improving younger brigade. 5
15 Port Seven clearances, five inside-50s and a goal, great game after starting as sub. 6
16 WCE Half forward won some touches; all good experience. 4
17 WB 11 of his 18 possessions were contested, so got hands dirty. 6
18 Melb Not allowed to break free by Garland and the Dees’ defence. 3
19   Rested.
20 Syd Polished kid who also slapped on a dozen tackles. 6
21 Rich Sub. On second half and at least provided a presence. 3
22 Geel Kid was superb in every facet– 17 CPs, 10 clearances. 8
23 Ess Kid struggled to find the footy but it’s been a fine debut season. Big things ahead. 4
