2017 Digest:   Seamless return after a shoulder reco. Hasn’t let anyone get past him in midfield pecking order and is in good touch.

2017 Season

1	Melb	Didn't cover enough ground as an on baller and wasn’t incisive with his use of the ball.	4
2	WCE	Worked hard without having a major impact with his disposals.	5
3	Bris	Industrious in midfield and hit the scoreboard with 1.1, but doesn’t hurt the opposition often enough with possessions.	6
4	Coll	Started in middle appearing to take up a defensive role (seven tackles and just 11 possessions).	4
5	Geel	What he did was good but has to touch the ball more than 12 times to hurt the opposition; 12 touches, one goal.	4
6	VFL	Back to some better form with 22 possessions, nine inside-50s and seven tackles.	–
7	VFL	Worked hard enough with 27 touches, eight clearances and nine tackles.	–
8	Carl	Played his part in the midfield with 28 touches and found some decent form after a stint in the VFL.	7
9	Syd	Predominantly disposed of the ball by hand and wasn’t a big factor.	4
10	VFL	Battled the game out in a well-beaten midfield. 27 possessions, eight clearances.	–
11	VFL	One of the Zebs best. Had 30 touches, seven clearances and seven tackles in the loss.	–

16	VFL	Easily Sandy's best with 38 touches, seven clearances and two goals.	–
17	VFL	Stood out the most with his clean ball use. Will be on the fringe of senior team after 28 touches at 82 per cent.	–
18	Syd	A 10 possession first quarter signalled a strong return. Ended with 29 touches and used ball better than in recent outings.	6
19	Port	Backed up last week’s game with another excellent display on the ball. Could be a career turning point.	7
20	WCE	A solid game after two strong weeks.	6
21	Melb	Two goals from midfield was a good return, but was left flat-footed early on. Fought back.	6
22	NM	Continued a good run of form in recent weeks and was strong across four quarters.	7
23	Rich	Missed two sitters in first quarter. Battled hard but his kicking is not great for a midfielder; 30 disposals.	6

2016 Season

1	Port	Suffered a heavy knock after a bruising tackle on Hartlett and had limited impact.	4
2	WB	One of many inside midfielders who struggled to get their hands on the ball.	4
3	Coll	Tackled brilliantly (seven) and had four clearances and three inside-50s to keep midfield wheels turning.	7

5	GWS	Started with all guns blazing but then diminished influence.	5
6	Melb	Good ball-winner but tapered at the end.	6
7	NM	Whole-hearted effort in midfield but a few late kicks missed the target.	6
8	WCE	Not incisive enough in midfield battle.	3
9	Ess	Won ball well and had high handball to kick ratio.	6
10	Frem	Steady input from midfield although dipped in second and third quarters.	5
11	Adel	Started well but usage below par. Early missed shots didn’t help.	4

5	Ess	Solid game and showed great work-rate. Lack of right foot power a worry.	6
6	WB	Blue-collar worker in midfield. Not a big player but did his bit.	5
7	Adel	Powerful midfielder struggled to impact the game.	3
8	WCE	Tagging role on Priddis which he found hard. Lacks zips and may need rest.	3
9	Bris	Big second quarter and a key midfield driver. Off with head knock briefly.	7
10		Rested.
11	Melb	In and out of the game, but did a few nice things.	4
13	WB	Matched on Wallis most of the night.	5
14	Ess	Sub came on last term and handy with a goal thrown in.	2
15	GWS	Shiel got away early. Not an incisive player.	4
16	Rich	Looked sharp and won the ball inside packs. Tackled well.	7

18	Port	Had job of tracking Gray and found him hard to contain.	5

2014 Season

1	Melb	Did the lot with tackles and hard ball gets. Looked like he had been there forever.	7
2	GWS	Not as prominent as first game but still a meaningful contributor.	5
3	WCE	Excellent work in close and went head to head with Priddis. They played wide.	7
4	Adel	OK but not as influential as in earlier rounds.	5
5	Ess	Busy and creative early. A solid contributor.	5
6	Bris	Bored in hard all game.	5
7		Concussion.
8	Carl	Mainly used handball and was usually creative. Heavy knock but kept going.	5
9	GCS	Did some nice things, but was quiet overall.	4
11	Coll	Good game in midfield and up forward.	4
12	Port	A quality performer in middle.	6
13	Geel	Quiet day and had attention to a shoulder.	3
