2017 Season

1 WCE Did a few nice things – including one smart finish, but wasn’t a big factor on the day. 5
2 Geel Former Bulldog played in patches without setting the world alight. Got on the end of it a few times from a wing. 5
3 GWS Lively as a high forward but not a great deal came of his 20 touches. 6
4 WB Former Dog relished crack at former side and was busy around the ball. Influence not huge with one inside-50 and two tackles. 6
5 Frem Kicked a brilliant goal in the final term. Also had 21 disposals. 6
6 GCS Looks to be a real asset and one of the better pick-ups this year. Neat and effective. 7
7 Adel Got a bit of the ball and had a hand in a few North scores. Topped off day with nice goal on the run in final term. 6
8 Syd Busy and involved little player early, but dropped out after half time. 5
9 Melb Three inside-50s and linked well a times off a wing. Didn’t star but played a role in the victory; 15 disposals. 5
10 Carl Lively early but rarely sighted in the second and third. Like many Kangas lifted with some telling possessions in the last term. 5
11 Rich Struggled big time. Had 17 possessions but fact only four were kicks. One inside-50 and three tackles. 4

13 StK Slow start but had a much better second half and did his bit in the last hour. 5
14 WB Against old side the wingman flitted in and out of the contest. One goal and six tackles to go with 266 metres gained. 6
15 GCS Did not feature a lot. Booted an early goal and just the four kicks. 3
16 Frem Quiet day despite his stats. Buzzed about but minimal impact. 4
17 Port Pushed forward to get North Melbourne’s first goal of the game against the run of play. 5
18 Ess Had it 21 times but didn’t use it particularly well. 4
19 Melb Had some smart touches in the front half. Okay without starring. 5
20 Coll Buzzed around the half forward line and made no impact on the contest. 3
21 Haw Very quiet, but got a few touches late. Just six kicks and no goals for a small forward. Run in the VFL perhaps? 3
22 StK Bagged two goals but wasn’t a big ball winner. 4
23 Bris Showed some polish around forward line at times. 5

22 Ess Began on wing against Parish and was productive. Has worked way into side. 6
23 Frem Fought hard but didn’t have a real impact. 5
EF VFL Solid without starring. 20 possessions and made the right decision most times.

13 VFL Epic final term nearly dragged Dogs’ over line. 23 possessions.

10 VFL Toiled away in midfield and did the little things to free up teammates.
11 Frem Kicked a goal and was tough at the contest. Some good efforts. 5
12 Bris Had Adcock for company and kicked two early goals. Influence waned. 5
13 Coll Crucial in the final term when the game was on the line. 6
14 Port Young gun in the thick of the action, laid seven tackles and had three inside-50s. 7
15 Melb Sub. On at three-quarter time and had a few touches. 2
16 Geel Covered well by Cats when forward or midfield and he was quiet. 3
17 GCS Best game at AFL level with 27 touches and game-sealing goal in final term. 7
18 Ess Great third quarter a highlight. One goal and some good groundwork. 6

13 Rich Struggled to get into the game and subbed out. 2
14 Melb Kept burrowing in for the footy. Several poor kicks, though. 5
15 GWS The substitute was injected early through Johannisen's injury and did well. 5
16 Ess Showed plenty. Has poise, is well balanced and used footy well. Real positive. 7
17 Haw Missed goal on quarter time, relatively quiet until subbed out late in third. 3
