2017 Season

1 GCS A bit wasteful with the footy, but relished the contest and rebounded five times out of defence. 5
2 Ess Had a short sting on Fantasia to not much effect although he was a worthy contributor. 5
3 StK Battled hard at half back and on a wing. Did some good things and was far from the Lions’ worst. 6
4 Rich Always on the back foot in defence and was another one of Rioli's victims. 4
5 WB Stats modest but defensively he was very competitive, highlighted by some timely spoils. Effort alone keeps him in side. 5
6 Port Was OK from half back and kept his opponent quiet. 6
7 Syd Just one kick in the first half and had little impact. Agricultural spoil on Towers will be scrutinised. Nice late goal. 5
8 Haw Given the task to run with Smith all day. Was solid on him, played with usual aggression but barely got the ball himself. 4
9 Adel Roughed up Sloane before opening bounce and worked well running forward. Did well under tough circumstances. 5
10 Coll Had job on Fasolo and despite conceding two goals he stuck to the task pretty well. 6
11   Bye.
12 Frem Most productive of the defenders early and applied some crunching tackles including one on Walters. 7
13 Port Doesn’t take a back step to anyone, and isn’t afraid to put his head over the footy. 6
14 GWS Flattered by 23 disposals. Failed on Greene and had a few clangers including a hospital pass to Beams who was seriously injured. 6
15 Ess Steady across half back and didn’t have any flat spots in his game. 6
16 Geel Dumbfounding ball-use at times. Tries hard but needs to think his way through situations more effectively. 5
17 Rich Booked for Liverpool Kiss on Cotchin then tagged Dusty and resorted to some ‘interesting’ tactics. At least had a dip. 4
18   Suspended.
19 WCE Followed Gaff. Not as aggressive as in previous weeks and Gaff got away. 5
20 WB Trusted to watch Daniel but the Bulldog was too slippery. 4
21 GCS Lions tough nut held Ainsworth before given task on Martin. Coped well on Martin and was still able to be attacking as well. 6
22 Melb Gave Petracca too much latitude at times and was moved off him. Laid six tackles but wasn’t a huge factor. 4
23 NM Was Okay down back without being anything out of the ordinary. 5

2016 Season

1   Senior emergency.
2 NEAFL Copped an early knock but continued to put his head over the ball.
3 NEAFL One of the few winners on a dirty day. 28 touches on a wing and in midfield.
4 NEAFL Battled away but wasn’t able to have typical influence.
5 NEAFL Crashed in and won a fair amount of contested ball. Good outing.
6   Concussion.
7 NEAFL Bye.
8 NEAFL Toiled away in midfield to help get ball going Lions’ way.
9 Melb Struggled. Missed some crucial targets and not a damaging midfield force. 3
10 Haw Hard-working performance on the wing with seven marks and three inside-50s. 6
11 Carl Threw his body around but as a midfielder failed to win enough of the football. 4
12 Frem Up for the contest unlike many of his team mates. 5
13 NEAFL Got injured early and took no further part.
14   Neck.
15   Neck.
16 NEAFL 21 of his 25 possessions were uncontested. Added an outside game to normal grunt.
17 NEAFL Stood tall in back half. Pushing for a senior call-up.
18 NEAFL Tackled hard and won a bit of ball, but kicking let him down.
19 Port Showed some glimpses and landed a third-quarter major. 5
20 Adel No tackles and two inside-50s, and that’s it. 1
21   Knee.

1   Sinus.
2 NEAFL 17 possessions after missing time with sinus issue.
3 NEAFL Struggled to get into game.
4 WCE Most productive when shifted on to a wing 6
5 GCS Fiery competitor, worked hard at both ends. 5
6 Carl Sub. Couldn’t influence the game when he got a run late. 1
7 Port A silent achiever with a sound four-quarter effort on a wing. 6
8 Ess Bobbed up at times without huge effect. 3
9 StK Never stopped trying when others around him dropped off when Saints surged. 7

20   Hamstring.
21   Hamstring.
22   Hamstring.
23   Hamstring.

2014 Season

1 PM In and out of the game but did well in patches.
2 NEAFL Competed well but didn’t have much support.
3 NEAFL Near best afield in the middle of the park.
4 Port Showed real dash burning off opponents and taking the game on. 5
5 Rich Newcomer had huge task tagging Cotchin but not disgraced. 5
6 StK Has easily slotted into team and trusted to tag main midfielders. 6
7 Syd Only his fourth game but continues to impress. Admirable work ethic. 6
8 Ess Sub came on just before three-quarter time and had couple of touches. 1
9 NM Sub came on late in third term and did a couple of things. 1
11 NEAFL Typical bullocking game after an early knock.
12 NEAFL Was his typical bullocking self but was ordinary by foot.
13 NEAFL Learning the caper at half back and onball. Fair.
14 Frem Put in a determined effort and deserves to keep his place. 4
15 NEAFL Had a lot of the ball, but his opponent was very good too.
16 NEAFL Provided some bash and crash before being overwhelmed.
17 NEAFL Had 30 odd touches and was bullocking throughout the midfield.

19 NEAFL Worked tirelessly to end with 38 disposals.
20 Adel Faded badly after 10 disposals in first half. 5
21 NEAFL Relished the wet conditions and attacked the ball well.
22 NEAFL Had little influence on the contest with only 10 disposals.
