2017 Season

1 Haw Continued to fine form that he displayed last year with a solid job in the back half. 7
2 Bris From a match-up point of view he held McStay while also collecting a dozen disposals. 4
3 Carl Good effort. Got in the way down back and tried hard to provide some run from defence. 6
4 Adel Switched to Taylor Walker after his dominant first quarter and put the brakes on. 6
5 Coll Unobtrusive but effective defender against the Magpie talls. 5

20 Carl Had the job on Curnow and did that pretty well in what was a key win for the team in a tight game. 6
21 Adel Lined up at full-back on Walker who tested him early. 4
22 GCS Defensively sound, particularly in the second half. Spoiled when required. 6
23 Frem Played down back and was okay, but had hands full with Docker talls at stages. 5
EF Syd Job on Franklin started well but ended in tears as he was torn new orifices by the Swans’ star in the second term. 3

2016 Season

1 GCS Learning the craft as a defender and had a tough night on Lynch. 4
2 Melb Defensively towelled Watts at times and that was his primary role. Handy contributor. 5
3 Port Started on Dixon but moved up forward after giving away two free kicks. 5
4 Geel Tried very hard defensively and OK in that role but not much offensively. One kick. 3
5   Senior emergency.  
6 VFL Won plenty of own ball across half back and pleased coaches with his effort.
7 VFL Worked super hard finds it hard to get hands to the ball.
8 NM Had Ben Brown for long periods and actually did a solid defensive job on him. 5
9 StK Tried hard without making inroads. Does the little things, which is good sign. 4
10 Rich Spent entire night on Riewoldt and apart from second term he did a solid job. 6
11 Frem Pavlich was too good for him. Tough night. 4
12 Haw On Gunston early and learning about defence. 4
13 GWS Played on Cameron and did a wonderful job halting the Giants star. 6
15   Back.  
16 StK Continues to progress as a tall defender and had variety of opponents. 5
17 Rich Big task on Riewoldt, but stuck to it admirably and wound up keeping the Tiger star goalless. 7
18 Bris Took Schache for long periods and did well to keep him off the scoreboard in Lions’ 20-goal outing. 6
19 Adel Prevented Lynch from having a huge influence on the game. 5
20 Geel Hardly sighted down back although did well on Menzel when he was on. 4
21 GCS Given huge job on Lynch and held him well in first half and stuck to task after main break. 6
22 WB Capable job in defence without starring on T. Boyd and others. 5
23 Carl Sound defensively. Didn’t give Jones an inch. 6

2015 Season

1 Syd Continually tackled hard and applied pressure in the forward zone. 6
2 Haw Workrate was high but didn’t have a big impact. Took a nice mark late. 4
3 Carl Created pressure and won the ball when required. Improving player. 6
4 Coll Didn’t get involved in dangerous parts of the ground but didn’t give up. 5
5 StK Tackled strongly to keep ball in attack, involved in scoring moves. 6
6 Frem Had a quiet night with only 10 touches and no scores. 3
7 NM Couple of crunching tackles and two goals a handy return up forward. 6
8 Bris Competitive in attacking zone and played his part. 5
9 Rich Struggled to make an impact as a forward but worked hard laying six tackles. 4
10 Geel Failed to find any space and had no impact on the game. 2
11 WCE One of the better tacklers in the team but no scoreboard impact. 4
13 VFL Worked hard but still struggling to find the big sticks.
14   Two early goals but drifted from game as Willy got on top.  
15 Melb Didn’t find a lot of it but worked hard with a team-high eight tackles. 5
16 NM One goal but no impact in attack. Still green in a lot that he does. 3
17 Port Began on Clurey. Not a factor in attack. 4
18 WB Three marks and less influence than a state school maths teacher. 2
19   Senior emergency.  
20 VFL Arguably Bombers’ best with 31 touches and two goals.
21 GCS Defensive pressure in forward 50 was a feature. 4

2014 Season

1 NM Lively tall forward in first game. 4
2 Haw Three second-half goals after a quiet first half. Likely type. 6
3 VFL Late withdrawal.
4   Senior emergency.  
5   Quad.  
6 VFL Didn’t have a big day but played a role in attack at times.
7 VFL Competed hard in attack in second game back.
8 Bris At half forward matched on Gardiner at start and neither had big effect. 3
9 Syd Worked hard in the forward half but wasn’t able to have a big impact. 4
10 VFL In and out of the game with 15 possessions against Blues.
11 Rich Worked up the ground to get involved and pushed hard back inside attacking 50. 4
12 GWS OK stats but they flattered his real impact in attack. 3
13 Melb Had a hand in most of Essendon’s goals early and was lively in attack. 6
14 Adel Competed strongly and gave a lead up target. Took seven marks. 6
15 Geel Flitted in and out. Didn’t star but showed some positive signs. Four tackles. 5
16 Port Only six disposals but produced a crucial goal in the second term. 3
17 Coll Couple of nice early goals and finished with three. Runs well and is athletic. 6
18 WB One goal from limited touches but his workrate was first class. 4

21 WCE Lined up as negating forward on menacing Hurn. Beaten early but then improved. 5
22 GCS Provided a contest but not busy enough to do any damage. Four marks, no goals. 3
23 Carl Provided a useful option offensively with six marks and a goal. 5
