2016 Digest:   Returns on the list after 24 goals from 18 games in 2015. Got dropped after the elimination final so is still a fringe player heading into a new year. A handy depth player.

2016 NAB Cup:   Rookie-listed veteran played one game against Collingwood and kicked two goals. Ready to go if he gets the call at any stage.

2016 Season

Played for : North Melbourne

1   Werribee didn’t play.  
2   Played in VFL trial against Footscray.  
3 VFL Proved to be one of the differences in attack with four smart goals.
4 VFL Well held for much of the day by Dolphins defenders. One goal.
5 VFL Bye.
6 VFL Ended with two goals and was lively in the front half.
7 StK Buzzed around in attacking zone and did some nice things at time. 4
8 Ess No goals, one inside-50s but did lay seven tackles. Keeps his spot? 3
9 Carl Missed sitter in second term but bobbed up with two final-quarter goals and was handy. 5
10 Syd Mills was his marker for most of the night. One goal from five kicks. Still a fringe player. 2
11 Rich Keen to make the most of every opportunity in this team, but efficiency down. 4
12 Geel Two kicks opposed to Ruggles. Not sure he will stay in the side after that. 1
13   Finger.  
14 Adel Late tactical call up for Daw, and was disappointing. 3
16   Senior emergency.  
17 VFL Tackle pressure good early and among the best in beaten side.
18 VFL Had five inside-50s to go with a goal and 15 possessions. Handy.
19 VFL Applied great defensive pressure and won 24 possessions.
20 VFL Good in early exchanges but missed a few chances after main break. Nice hanger!
21 Haw Got into some good spots but wasted some great chances to set up goals. 3
22 VFL Kicked three goals and took nine marks in front half. A winner on the day.
23 VFL Kicked three goals and was lively all afternoon forward of centre.

2 Bris Willing to work in defence as well as around the ground. Added zip. 6
3 Port Burst in and out of the game in the front half. OK. 4
4 Geel Two last-quarter goals helped seal game. Three for the match. 6
5 Haw Unable to get into the game to any real effect like he has been. 3
6 Rich Six touches and a ‘gimme’ goal in first half. Added another when game all over. 5
7 Ess Busy performance highlighted by soccer goal in final term. Three inside-50s. 5
8 Frem You wouldn’t have noticed many of his 18 disposals. 4
9 Coll Dined out on crumbs in first half and ended with three goals. 6
10 WCE Not dangerous enough on day when ball spent time on deck. Subbed out. 1
11 Syd Got into dangerous spots but didn’t always finish work. 5
12 GWS Just eight touches, but big impact with 4.2. 8
14 GCS Tried hard but opportunities few and far between. 4

16 VFL Roosters’ best forward in defeat with three smart goals.
17 VFL Smart around goals and ended with four majors.
18 VFL Starred in attack in belting of the Blues with seven goals.
19 Melb Buzzed around forward line for a couple of goals, including a ripper late. 6
20 StK Sub came on late and buzzed around, kicking a goal from close in. 1
21 Frem Opening goal on Sheridan and two goals was good input. 5
22 WB Biggs matched on him and kept him relatively quiet. 4
23 Rich Houli shadowed him early. OK but didn’t work as close to goal as usual. 5
EF Rich Played a defensive role on Houli and stuck to task well enough. 5

1 PM In and out of the game with just 11 possessions.
2 VFL Had the better of Ramsay. Good effort.
3   North Ballarat didn’t play.  
4 Syd A late replacement for Currie, a threat early before being subbed out. 5

6 Frem Kicked a goal but wasn’t able to have a big impact. Subbed in final term. 3

9 Bris Worked very hard with his tackling and always involved. 7
10 Geel Two goals and could easily have had five. Missed two key goals late. 5
11 WCE Did the job required down forward and played a part. 5
12 Rich Relished crack at old side and was a key in the second half. Two goals. 7
13 Adel Poor game from the lively small forward. 3
14 Melb Lively until badly injured shoulder in second term and subbed out. 3

1 Carl Sub thrown on early in final term but had no impact. 1
2 VFL Drifted in and out. OK but not worthy of an instant recall.
3 VFL Busy effort in midfield but not worthy of a recall.
4 VFL Best game overall in the VFL this year. Attacked and defended.
5 Frem Sub. Didn’t have the impact coach had planned. One effective disposal. 1
6 VFL Zipped around and pushed forward from the middle. Four goals.
7 Port Quiet game for the goalsneak and might be under pressure to keep his spot. 4
8 Melb One goal but might be headed back to the VFL. 2
9 Ess Late inclusion for Ellis. Linked up OK through the centre and not disgraced. 5
10 VFL Had 25 possessions and kicked a goal. Improved showing.
11 VFL Bye.
12 VFL Had 20 possessions and two goals to contribute well.
13 VFL Disappointing outing after some strong VFL form.
14 VFL Worked hard throughout to end with 28 disposals.
15 VFL Buzzed around, but didn’t have the same impact in midfield.
16 VFL Bye.
17 VFL Best for the Tigers with 30 possessions in win over Werribee.
18 VFL Gave good run through the middle in a team well beaten.
19 VFL Used as a set up man and did well, but kicking was haphazard at times.
20 Bris Subbed off late in the third quarter after having no effect on the game. 3
21 VFL Had 31 touches and can hold his head high despite defeat.

1 Carl Not a big night. 3
2 Coll On in third term and excelled in final quarter. 3
3 Melb Beat the Bartram tag to grab 21 disposals and two goals. Dangerous. 7
4 Geel Battled against Guthrie for a lot of day and ended with two goals. OK. 6
5 WCE Set up one goal in second term but didn’t get one himself. Quiet. 3
6 Port A thorn in the Port side all afternoon, kicked three goals. 7
7 Syd Looked lively at times but drifted in and out of the game. No goals. 4
8 Ess Hardingham went with him early. Only flashed in and out. 4
9 Haw Had Guerra to deal with and stats not huge but gave a little when he could. 4
10 StK Had a very good third quarter with two goals after a slow start. 6
11 Frem Didn’t get enough footy to be super dangerous but workrate good. 5
12 GWS Didn’t kick a goal and ball use not up to his usual standards. 4
14 Adel Usually plays well at AAMI Stadium, but struggled with just the one goal. 4
15 Melb Got off the chain to kick four goals, including two in the final term. Solid. 7
16 GCS Helped revitalise the Tigers with three third-quarter goals. Ended with four. 7
17 NM Kicked three goals but went missing for long periods in between. 5
18 Carl Very quiet first half then got into game more. 5
19 Bris Kicked 3.2 to be best small forward on the ground. 6
