2017 Season

1 GCS Worked hard to provide good rebound in defence and snuck forward to boot a goal also. 5
2 Ess Kept motoring in last term when game started to slip although he lost midfield tussle with Zaharakis. 5
3 StK Had some good moments and kicked a goal to put the Lions ahead, but needed to do more. 5
4 Rich Started on McIntosh and then exposed for pace when guarding Rioli in second half. 5
5 NEAFL Strong outing with 26 possessions and a goal. Did his chances of a senior recall no harm.
6 NEAFL Bye.
7 NEAFL Worked overtime in the back half. Got plenty of the ball, but didn’t always hit the target.
8 Haw Barely sighted early but did find some of it after half time. Only a 38 per cent efficiency from 13 disposals. 3
9   Senior emergency.  
10 NEAFL A class above Aspley with 36 possessions, 13 inside 50s and a goal.
11   Bye.  
12 NEAFL Floated through the middle. Didn’t have a massive day, but did his bit.
13 NEAFL Earned a recall to seniors with 31 touches, six inside 50s and three majors.
14 GWS Showed he has a great leap but needs a set of hands to match and he’d be a potent forward weapon. Moved to defence late in game. 5
15 Ess Kicked three goals all from close range which was important in a low scoring game. 5
16 Geel Subdued by Bews in his 100th game. Missed a very gettable shot and completely punctured in last term. Fit??? 4

18 NEAFL Just a solid performance from the seasoned AFL player. Kicking efficiency of just 22.2%.
19 NEAFL Came off early in the third term and didn't return, but was still almost BOG. A level above on the wing as the link up man.
20 NEAFL Didn’t kick the ball that well but won a truckload of the footy.
21 NEAFL Handy contributor with 15 touches and five inside 50s. Drifted in and out.
22 NEAFL Handy contributor with 22 possessions and four inside 50s.

2016 Season

1 WCE Needed to win more of the footy as a midfielder. 3
2 NM Linked up well through the midfield and ran hard throughout. 6
3 Geel Couldn’t get into the contest. With his experience has to find a way to have more than five kicks. 2
4 GCS Gathered possessions without really hurting opposition. 5
5 WB Got a goal and had a few touches but drifted in and out off a wing. 5
6 Syd Lost out to Lloyd. Another who needs to give more for longer. 5
7 Port Missed two gettable chances in the third quarter. 5
8 Coll Broke even early with Sidebottom on a wing. A goal to open third term the highlight. 5

12 Frem Got plenty of the ball and looked to carry the footy. 6
13 WCE Lined-up on Jetta and had a respectable number of disposals. 6
14 Rich Started back but went forward late and looked much more comfortable. 4

17 GWS Tried to stake a claim for mark of the year. Overall, one goal from seven touches didn’t cut it. 4
18 Ess Started on Goddard on wing and drifted in and out but long kicking handy at times. 5

2015 Season

1 Coll Broke even with Crisp on a wing but still a lot of room for improvement. 6
2 NM Had no great input. 3
3 Rich Gathered a solid number of touches for reactive rather than proactive reasons. 5
4 WCE Had the job on Hill who had nine touches but he kicked three goals. 5
5 GCS Starting sub on early and quelled Bennell's influence in second half. 4
6 NEAFL Bye.
7 NEAFL Lions’ best in loss to GWS. 31 touches on a wing.
8   Senior emergency.  
9 StK Made several handling errors. Needs to think faster. 5
10 GWS Didn’t get a lot of ball but made touches count in front of goal with three majors. 6
12 WB Had his work cut out as negating forward on Murphy. Two goals but beaten. 3
13 Adel Aerial skills were on show but not much else. 4
14 Frem First Lions’ goal and eight tackles. Competitive. 6
15 Syd Sub. On in second term to replace Gardiner but only flitted in and out. 3

17 NM Two goals saved him from having an ordinary night. 5
18 Geel Kicked one long goal after a mark from a two-metre kick. That was a about it. 4
19 GCS Failed to kick a goal as the crumbing small forward despite 53 inside 50s. 4
20 NEAFL Lions’ best with 40 touches and two goals in loss.

23 WB Got plenty of the ball but some costly errors too. 5

2014 Season

1   Senior emergency.  
2 Geel Sub. Nearly took mark of the century. Kicked one goal from four disposals. 1
3 NEAFL Strong performance with three goals.
4 Port Kicked two goals from limited opportunities. 5
5 Rich Spring made it awkward for Vlastuin at times. 5
6 NEAFL Quiet in the second quarter but was good after that.
7 Syd Just four disposals when subbed out in third quarter. Enough said. 4
8 NEAFL Played through the middle and on a wing and gave good drive.
9 NEAFL Worked hard all night playing on a wing to be the Lions best.
10 NEAFL Bye.
11 NEAFL Worked tirelessly with some hard running that was rewarded.
12 WB His best game at AFL level in some time. Plenty of the ball, played with zip. 8
13 GWS Much quieter game than last week. 3
14 Frem On Mzungu and at least bobbed up a few times. 4
15 NM Useful effort on Harvey who did not have a major impact on game. 6
16 Rich Went to Ellis after quarter time but didn’t dampen his influence. 5
17 WCE Busy a small forward but no real influence. 5
18 GCS Kept to his task of curtailing Bennell and finished on top. 6
19 Melb Enjoying his new role and was afforded plenty of space to hit targets. 7
20 Adel Had only seven touches until half time. Found more of the ball in second half. 6
21 Coll Great running goal in third term a highlight of an even performance. 6
22 Frem Started on Mzungu on a wing and collected possessions easily enough. 6

1 WB One of better Lions to half time then disappeared. 6
2 Adel Another culprit of wasting his chances and down on pre-season efforts. 3
3 GCS Lively across half forward and kicked a ripping goal in the last quarter. 5
4 NM Threaded two lovely goals. 6
5 Melb Roamed far and wide and ended with 1.3. Solid. 6
6 Syd Held goalless by Smith and had minimal influence. 3
7 WCE Kicked two goals from limited chances. Did his job. 6
8 Ess OK as a roaming half forward. Worked hard up the ground to get involved. 5
9 Carl Started brilliantly with opening goal and finished with three. 7
10 Coll At half forward he sat on Shaw and did his bit. 7
12 Frem Tried his hardest to make an impact and put in an honest game. 5

2012 Season

1 Melb Nipped in early in the contest but was quiet thereafter. 2
2 Carl Started brightly but tired quickly and faded. Kept a rein on Gibbs. 4
4 NEAFL Not his best outing.
5 NEAFL One of the Lions’ prime movers in win over Morningside.
6 NEAFL In and out of the game. Contributed when needed.
7 NEAFL Booted two goals and was a factor for periods.
8 GWS Had plenty of the ball but finishing off in front of goal was average. 5
9 NM Kicked a nice goal and only had a moderate game. 4
10 WCE Did a few good things including a second quarter. 5
12 Haw Sub came on in third quarter and had a few touches. 2
13 WB Two goals and three clearances a handy contribution. 6
14 Melb Just the eight touches and a goal. 3
15 Syd Started on bench and never really able to influence the contest. 3
16 StK Finished on well on a forward flank. 6
17 GCS Came on in last quarter and kicked the sealer. 3
18 WCE Bobbed up at some key times. Won some clearances. 6

20 Carl Super first half netted 2.2 and while opportunities dried up he looked good. 7

22 Port Quiet afternoon except for a lovely left goal on the run in the first quarter. 3
