1	Port	Excelled keeping Schulz to one goal despite going off after a clash of heads.	6
2	WB	Stringer took him up the ground, but defended fairly well considering Dogs’ delivery.	5
3	Coll	Did a fine job quelling Howe and critical early in the final term when the game still in balance.	7
4	Haw	Had Sicily for long periods and was steady enough in defence.	5
5	GWS	As usual tried hard against the odds.	4
6	Melb	Excellent job on Watts to keep him top two goals.	7
7	NM	Made sure that Waite didn’t continue dominance of recent weeks.	7
8	WCE	Outgunned early and stuck to guns but horse had bolted.	4
9	Ess	Solid in defence without doing anything spectacular.	5
10	Frem	Strong in defence apart from extended time on bench after crashing into fence.	5
11	Adel	Warrior defender hurt hamstring but gamely returned to the match. Restricted.	3

20	Carl	Always efficient and calm down back in flawless display.	6
21	Syd	Had roles on Buddy and others. Stuck to his task manfully but overwhelmed.	5
22	Rich	At full back he outworked J. Riewoldt early and had a steady game.	6
23	Bris	Steady and efficient game by seasoned defender.	5

2015 Season

1	GWS	A couple of slip-ups but overall good in defence.	5
2	GCS	Steady down back.	5
3	Coll	On Blair who was able to win a fair share of the ball.	4
4	Carl	Initially on Jones then later on Henderson with mixed results.	5
5	Ess	Continually tackled and pressured on defence.	7
6	WB	Came into game in second half and looked more assured with his marking.	5
7	Adel	Had a nightmare, couldn’t lay a glove on Betts.	3
8	WCE	In undersized defence was always matched on taller opponents. Kept going.	5
9	Bris	Had problems early but took them in his stride and had a strong game.	5
10	Haw	Steady job on bigger Hawk forwards.	5
11	Melb	Went to Hogan in latter part of the game. Took mark of the day early.	6
13	WB	Successful lockdown on Stringer and also made the play.	6
14	Ess	Went about the business in unflustered way and racked up touches.	6
15	GWS	Solid in defence even on Cameron in second half.	5
16	Rich	Against variety of forwards he was a bulwark in defence.	6
17	Melb	Safe hands in defence were a feature. Excellent game.	7
18	Port	Outstanding in defence in first half and always there to stem attacks.	7
19	Frem	Against bigger forwards, usual dependable, professional defensive job in 200th.	5
20	NM	Solid defence when out there but kept having blood issues with smashed nose.	6

1	Melb	After a couple of uncustomary early errors he settled into a good game.	6
2	GWS	Couple of errant disposals early but then was a hurdle down back for GWS.	7
3	WCE	Demanding role on resting rucks but handled it OK.	5
4	Adel	Best of Saint defenders and was steady.	6
5	Ess	Good duel with Chapman and held his own.	5
6	Bris	Comfortably accounted for Paparone. A stumbling block for Lions.	8
7	Haw	Had to work hard down back but stuck to it.	5
8	Carl	Ran with Thomas from the start. Solid display down back.	5
9	GCS	Matera got away from him, but he kept shoulder to the wheel.	5
11	Coll	Solid and effective in defence as usual.	6
12	Port	Even his experience couldn’t quell the damaging Gray.	3
13	Geel	Even the solid pro made some uncharacteristic errors.	4
14	WCE	Had the job on Darling and was usual diligent self.	5
15	Rich	Negating role in defence saw him pick up various opponents.	5
16	Carl	Had his hands full with Menzel early.	3
18	Frem	Head clash with Pavlich KO’d him early and stretchered off.	0
19	GCS	Whole-hearted effort on Hall and other medium forwards.	6

6	Coll	Steady and efficient defensive game.	5
7	Carl	Key job on Yarran at start, then Blue hurt hammy, Solid.	6
8	Adel	Started game on Dangerfield and followed him into midfield.	6
9	WB	Important job on Murphy but beaten. Flattened in heavy second term clash.	4
10	NM	Kept it tight on Thomas after first quarter.	4
11	WCE	Had a strong battle with Darling. Cool in defence.	6
13	Melb	Made one early howler but settled to play usual strong defensive game.	6
14	Rich	Brave as ever in defence and spent time on Riewoldt but couldn’t contain him.	5

5	Melb	Matched on Jones at opening. Usual honest game.	6
6	Haw	Tried heart out on Franklin, but completely overwhelmed.	4
7	Carl	Had tough task on Betts. Couple of early worries but then clamped down.	6
8	WCE	Unusual to see him caught out of position a couple of times early.	5
9	Syd	Assured presence down back.	6
10	Rich	Matched on Vickery initially. Solid and took a couple of nice high marks.	5
11	GCS	Matched on Brown at first. Usual reliable game.	6
12	Adel	Great work rate as usual in defence.	7
14	NM	Stuck closer to Harvey and limited the North star’s effectiveness.	6
15	Ess	Lots of work in first half when game was up for grabs.	6
16	Bris	Matched on Rockliff for majority of time. Stuck to the task.	7
