1 Coll The man who never missed a game in '16 opened with another solid performance in the back pocket. 5
2 Syd Underrated defender was superb when the game was at its hottest. Just keeps finding the footy and getting in the way. 7
3 Frem Did a good job on Walters until the final term when he kicked away. 5
4 VFL A rare outing in the VFL after being dropped and was steady enough with 24 touches.
5 Bris Looked fumbly when he had the ball and was out-marked on occasions. Will he keep his spot in the side? 3
6 VFL Massive outing at half back and through midfield with 37 possessions. Pressed claims for senior recall.
7 VFL Stengle booted three goals, but the Bulldog was a driving force from defence with 28 touches.
8 VFL Had 27 touches and six rebounds, but made a few errors that Port Melbourne punished.
9 VFL One of the Dogs best down back. 26 possessions and tried to keep them in the game.

19 Ess Ball winning defender was magnificent with 29 disposals, 11 marks and 555 metres gained. Great effort. 8
20 Bris Kept going when some of his teammates went missing during the second and third terms. 7
21 GWS Held up okay down back given ball was coming down sideways after the main break. 5
22 Port Mopped up loose balls well in back 50, but was caught out a few times late. 5
23 Haw When he’s good he’s handy. When he’s bad he off steak in the sun all afternoon style; 16 disposals. 4

2016 Season

1 Frem Racked up the touches running off half back. Not all hit the target but linked very well. 8
2 StK Defended well on Saints’ smalls and provided rebound from back half again. 7
3 Haw Provided two goals to go with his 18 disposals from half back. 6
4 Carl Great game. Got off the chain at half back to help cover for absence of Murphy. Provided great drive. 7
5 Bris Not as prolific as he has been at times this season off half back but was handy enough. 6
6 NM Sturdy battler down back but disposal not powerful. 6
7 Adel Lynch gave him the run around early then responded. Quieter offensively than previous weeks. 4
8 Melb Gets under guard. Defends well and finds space when he can. Developing player. 5
9 GWS Toiled hard in the backline and was clean with his ball use. 5
10 Coll Honest worker in defence who played a percentage game. 6
11 WCE Just keeps finding the footy from half back. Uses it well when he gets it and reads it perfectly. 7

13 Geel Missed a few chances when pressing forward and unable to provide rebound off half back. 4
15 Syd Ran hard out of defence to make space and did well in first half. 5
16 Rich Provided usual steady output from defence. Didn’t star but played his role. 6
17 GCS Strong effort down back. Racked up 17 of his 24 possessions in the first half. 6
18 StK Overworked in covering defensive roles on various sized forwards. 6
19 Geel Defended well and ran off when he could to create play. Solid game. 7
20 NM Started on Harvey and did a fair job in defence. 5
21 Coll Handy all night in defence and ran well. 6

23 Frem Played on talls and tried to rebound when the footy hit the ground. 5
EF WCE Overcame a bad early mistake to play a steady role across half back. 6

PF GWS Honest job in back half but quiet towards the end. 5
GF Syd In everything early at half-back. Capped off a strong year with whole-hearted display. 6

2 NEAFL Tried hard down back and was rarely beaten.
3 NEAFL Excellent game across half back with 28 touches.
4 NEAFL Excellent first half and used it well.
5 NEAFL Close to best on ground. A standout performer.
6 NEAFL Down on last week’s performance.
7 NEAFL Bye.
8 NEAFL Very good display with 30 touches.
9 NEAFL Brilliant last week, but was a little down against the Demons.
10 NEAFL Bye.
11 NEAFL Didn’t have much influence on the rebound from defence.
12 NEAFL Very good in defence, with 26 touches and five rebounds.

1 NEAFL Played a defensive role and battled on well.

6 NEAFL Did well down back in a defensive role.
7 NEAFL Among the Swans best in win over Giants. Good outing.
8 NEAFL Did some nice things but not overly influential.
9 NEAFL Played his role well in the absence of a few teammates.
10 NEAFL Named best in down back Swans reserves win. Improving type.
11 NEAFL Developing well in his role down back. Good again.
12 NEAFL Bye.
13 NEAFL Stuck to his task well and competed hard for four quarters.
14 NEAFL Solid defensively in the back half for the Swans.
15 NEAFL Backed up his good form of previous week with another nice display.

7 NEAFL One of the Swans best in win over Brisbane.
8 NEAFL Linked up well off half back and through the middle.
10 NEAFL Rebounded well at times and drove the ball forward.
11 NEAFL Kicked a goal and used the ball well at times.
13 NEAFL Used the ball well and was cool under pressure.
14 NEAFL Drove the Swans forward at every opportunity.
