Played for : GWS Giants

1	Adel	Went one on one with Sam Jacobs and won the hit out battle 41 to 28.	7
2	GCS	Got the better of his ruck battle with Witts with 38 hitouts and threw his weight around when required.	7
3	NM	Usual bruiser’s game but had his hands full with Preuss who made a real contest of it.	6
4	Port	Ended up wearing down Trengove to get the better of the contest in the ruck. 46 hitouts and five clearances.	7
5	Syd	With 62 hit-outs he lorded it over his old team and set up countless breaks for his midfield.	8
6	WB	Bearded bulldozer ran over a few including Liberatore after he ended his night with a tackle in final term. Presence a key.	7
7	StK	Giant bulldozer did some cleaning up of anyone in the vicinity in what was a great battle with Longer; 8 disposals.	6
8	Coll	Grundy had the ascendancy but kept on making his presence felt.	5
9	Rich	Got the better of Nankervis as the game wore on. Knock on from final kick out was pivotal.	7
10	WCE	Dominated the ruck and destroyed Hutchings with a bump.	7
11	Ess	Interesting battle with Bellchambers. Not at his best and the Bomber took the points.	5
12	Carl	Bar hit-outs to advantage he was slaughtered by Kreuzer. Lack of mobility starting to hurt him big time.	4
13		Bye.
14	Bris	Put Beams out of commission with massive bump in opening minute and cleaned up Taylor the same way.	6
15	Geel	Battled away but hardly touched it. Had an influence in the ruck but not much else from the former Cat.	6
16	Haw	Huffed and puffed and always a danger if you’re near him. Had six tackles but no marks. Beaten by McEvoy.	5
17	Syd	Kicked two last quarter goals to keep the Giants hopes flickering, but lacked his usual impact in the contest. Even battle with Naismith.	6
18	Rich	Big man battled his guts out; 33 hit-outs, six tackles and three marks. Only 12 disposals.	6
19		Ankle.
20	Melb	Returned from injury and was physical when the ball hit the deck. Can expect a holiday for bump on Gawn.	6
21		Suspended.
22	WCE	Not really a presence throughout the day but gave midfielders fair use and kicked game sealing goal.	4
23	Geel	Struggled. Well beaten by Smith and didn’t get into the contest. End is coming fast for the big man.	2
QF	Adel	Okay in ruck duels, but basically as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle at ground level. No stats in first half.	4

2016 Season

Played for : GWS Giants

1	Melb	Battled Gawn in a great duel. Had 12 hit-outs to advantage and workrate enormous.	6
2	Geel	Massive. Took out Duncan and Murdoch and dominated ruck to allow side to win clearances by 13.	8
3	Syd	Exceptional work-rate for a ruckman – 30 hit-outs and 10 tackles.	6
4	Port	Magnificent work-rate – 28 hit-outs and eight of his 11 touches were contested.	6
5	StK	Good battle with Hickey. Didn’t have it all his own way around the stoppages.	5
6	Haw	Got the ball rolling forward in the middle with his physicality and presence.	7
7	Frem	Apart from the ruck contests, he did little around the ground.	4
8	GCS	Won the ruck battle against Nicholls, finishing with 41-hit-outs. Also laid eight tackles.	6
9	WB	Another workmanlike effort in the ruck with 42 hit-outs and contributed well around ground.	6
10	Adel	Even duel with Jacobs in ruck. Tried to impose himself at times.	6
11	Geel	Smith had his number. One kick and eight hit-outs to advantage.	4
12	Syd	Battled manfully in the ruck against Sinclair and Tippett, but wasn’t a force around the ground.	5

14	Carl	Dominated with his brilliant tap work in the ruck (35 hit-outs).	6
16	Coll	Dominated ruck in first term then Grundy took the honours.	5
17	Bris	His height and strength was telling early although just one kick among his 11 disposals.	5
18	Port	Hobbled off in the last quarter with a knee injury. Won 49 hit-outs before then.	7
19	Rich	Good ruck duel with Hampson; 11 of his 28 hit-outs were to advantage.	6
20	GCS	Dominated the hit-outs (51-18) but a little quiet around the ground.	6
21	WCE	Battled away but Nic Nat got the points. Will be disappointed with last stoppage effort.	5
22	Frem	Big presence around the ground but didn’t have a huge impact on the game.	5
23	NM	Got the better of Goldstein to help swing momentum GWS’s way.	7
QF	Syd	Bullish strength in ruck duels and packs was something Swans couldn’t counter.	7
PF	WB	Two marks, three kicks. Didn’t dominate despite Roughead going off.	3

2015 Season

1	StK	Racked up 17 hit-outs to advantage and was a force around the ball all day.	7
2	Melb	The catalyst for the Giants’ turnaround in the ruck. Gave mids silver service.	9
3	Syd	Great battle with Pyke. Eight hit-outs to advantage but not a huge factor.	4
4	GCS	Not as dominant as previous weeks but had an edge in ruck which onballers made most of.	6
5	WCE	Competed strongly, especially around the ground.	6
6	Haw	Brilliant in the ruck and a hard-working contributor with eight tackles.	8
7	Carl	Dominated Wood and Casboult in the ruck. 47 hitouts and a physical presence.	8
8	Adel	Low disposal count belies his influence. 47 hitouts opposed to Jacobs.	7
9	WB	Seemed to be struggling with injury late.	3
10	Bris	Controlled the ruck against Martin and Leuenberger with 51 hitouts in a might effort.	8

4	Geel	Horrid night. Only two kicks and well below expectations.	1
5	StK	Signs of returning to form. Worked well in tandem with Pyke.	5
6	Bris	Worked well again in tandem with Pyke. Had 29 hit-outs.	7

8	Frem	A little rusty from a week out with groin soreness, he improved as the game wore on.	5
9	Coll	Solid tradesmanlike job in the ruck.	5

1	GWS	Helped himself to 35 hitouts and always a presence around footy.	6
3	Port	Most dominant big man on the ground with a game high 40 hit-outs.	8
10	WB	Used predominantly as a forward in his first game in seven weeks.	3
11	Ess	Important presence for the Swans. Will benefit from the run.	5
13	Geel	Doesn’t look right and struggled accordingly. Kept battling though.	3
14	GWS	Showed terrific aerobic capacity all over the ground in a promising effort.	6
15	Bris	Started in the ruck and makes incremental improvements each week.	5
16	WCE	Rucked strongly. His 29 hit outs was a game high.	7
17	StK	Hurt knee early and subbed off by half time.	3
19	Carl	Had the edge in the ruck and bobbed up for a goal.	6
20	Coll	Put in a hard night’s work in a classic ruck battle with Darren Jolly.	6
21	WB	Anytime your ruckman kicks three goals it’s a massive win for team.	7
