2017 Digest:   Hasn’t hit the heights after his move home from Collingwood but has had a very good pre-season and looks in top nick.

Played for : West Coast

1	NM	Some iffy moments with ball in hand, and fumbled more than most other Eagles. Can be better than that.	4
2	StK	One of the few defenders to stand tall when the heat was on early. His competitive efforts were vital.	7
3	Rich	21 touches, but didn’t really make an impact in the game.	6
4	Syd	Surprisingly started across half forward and missed as many targets as he has in defence. Tackled hard.	4
5	Haw	Meh! Did a few okay things, but was in and out far too much for a player of his quality.	4
6	Frem	Had 22 possessions but he they weren’t impactful.	5
7	Port	Was good in defence, played one on one with several opponents and wasn’t afraid to go back with the pack.	6
8	WB	Tried to give the team some run out of defence.	6
9	Ess	Hobbled by an ankle issue throughout the game and had one to forget.	4

13	WAFL	Spent time on Liam Ryan and was okay early, then the Lion got on top. Moved into midfield late and was fair.	–

18	WAFL	Terrific third quarter helped get his team back into the match. Solid overall.	–

21	Carl	Spent time at both ends after being a late inclusion but didn’t do a lot.	4

7	Geel	Certainly not the worst playing behind the ball. Did what he could but amounted to very little.	6
8	StK	Looked in injury trouble for a while but came back on to join the party.	7
9	Port	Another player not afraid to put his body on the line when required.	7
10	GCS	Played at half-forward and gave the team a different look.	6
11	WB	Struggled to touch the ball. Seven kicks and eight effective disposals not enough from an experienced player.	3
12	Adel	Struggling to have any impact on games at the moment.	3
13	Bris	Solid first half and helped set up match winning half time lead.	6
15	Ess	Found form with 21 disposals.	6
16	NM	Stepped up in the second half. Had some big moments.	6

2015 Season

1	WB	Work-rate good but couldn’t get enough ball to do any damage offensively.	3
2	Carl	Better than in Round 1 but still has more to give as a playmaker.	5
3	Frem	Kicked a nice goal but is a million miles away from Collingwood form.	5
4	Bris	In the thick of it until half time and then faded.	5
5	GWS	Played in defence. Kicked poorly early but improved.	5
6	Port	Had the tough task of trying to curb the influence of Wingard.	6
7	GCS	No Eagle had more contested possessions.	6
8	StK	On Templeton initially and played his part as a defender.	5
9	Geel	Looked smart dashing around the packs. Four inside-50s.	6
10	NM	When game on line in final term he stepped to the plate with eight disposals.	7
11	Ess	Copped a shin injury early but battled on.	5
12	Rich	Heavy hit in marking contest in second term but kept running well.	6
14	Melb	Regained mojo from Magpie days with run and creativity. Good again.	7
15	Adel	Kicked a goal and did some deft work.	5
16	Coll	Heavy knock early in game but a handy performer.	5
17	Syd	Read the play brilliantly across half back and used the ball with precision.	7

19	Haw	Found it tough on Rioli and gave away key free kicks.	4

QF	Haw	Defended superbly. Hard to believe he’s become a reliable defender.	8

2014 Season

1	WB	Found plenty of ball and dangerous bursting through the middle.	7
2	Melb	Pushed hard forward in rotation with Masten. Influential early.	6
3		Late withdrawal.
4	Geel	Won his share of footy but defensive work/running at times not great.	5
5	Port	Struggled to make an impact outside of kicking a goal.	4
6	Carl	Battled. Had no real influence on the game.	4
7	WAFL	25 disp, eight marks, seven inside 50s after being dropped.	–
8	GWS	Back in the senior team and was OK without starring.	5
10	Coll	One brilliant goal and gave some run – five clearances and five inside-50s.	6
11	NM	Bobbed up now and then but no significant influence.	4
12	Haw	The sub. Had six touches in the final term but the game was already over.	2
13	GCS	One of Ablett’s taggers for first three quarters and stuck to task.	6

1	VFL	Tagged closely by Selwood. Was a strong performer.	–
3	Carl	Rarely won clean possession in return game; not a factor..	3

5	Ess	Won 10 contested possessions and three clearances and inside 50s.	6
6	WB	Quiet night for him and often caught out of position. Can play better.	4
7	Bris	Never far from the action but often disposing under pressure.	5
8	Geel	Dashed in here and there. Effective when he could get hands on the ball.	6
9	Adel	One beautiful goal off the ground in the last term as the Pies piled them on.	7
10	GCS	Missed some shots at goal but had six inside 50s to keep the pressure on.	7
11	Melb	Kept the pressure on when A grade midfield was spelling. Handy second punch.	7
