21 WB Battled hard in midfield and was one of few to play four consistent quarters. Getting better with every week. 7
22 WCE Got better as the game wore on. Was influential in the forward half. 7
23 Geel Didn’t got any particular player and appeared a bit lost in terms of playing offensively. 4
QF Adel Wasn’t 100 per cent due an injury, but kicked two goals in the second half and tackled his heart out. 7
SF WCE Opposed to Shuey and took the points in a dominant GWS midfield. 8
PF Rich Plugged away in the middle for 24 disposals but only one clearance and one inside-50. 5

2016 Season

1   Played in NEAFL trial against Sydney.  
2 Geel Played role negating Selwood and Dangerfield and did it brilliantly. One goal, three clearances. 6
3 Syd Contributed well in the midfield with 12 contested possessions and six clearances. 5
4 Port Brilliant from start to finish with 34 disposals and eight clearances. 8
5 StK Chugged away in midfield rotation. Linked well with hands but hacked the ball a few times. 7
6 Haw Opposed to Mitchell and not only put the clamps on but found plenty of his own ball in first half. 7
7 Frem Two goals in the first term set up the win. Had 32 touches too. 8
8 GCS Played mostly on Ablett in the midfield and took the honours – nine clearances and eight tackles. 7
9 WB Giants’ best in the first half with 20 disposals. Finished with eight tackles and six inside-50s. 8
10 Adel One of the Giants’ best with five clearances and six inside-50s. 7
11 Geel Huge first half in battle with Guthrie. Only seven touches after half time. Five clearances. 7
12 Syd Used the ball exceptionally well in the midfield. Had eight clearances and laid seven tackles. 7
13 Ess Got wheels going in second half to be a key player. Eight clearances, nine inside-50s. 8
14 Carl Amassed a staggering 20 first-half disposals. Rarely produces a bad performance. 8
16 Coll Opened up on Treloar. Stuck to his guns with plenty of yap along the way. 6
17 Bris Brilliant 14 disposal second term which set up win. Hard to fault. 9
18 Port 20 contested possessions and put the Giants in front in third term with a goal. 8
19 Rich Led the way in close with 13 contested possessions and laid seven tackles. 8
20 GCS Leading ball winner with 33 possessions and was highly influential. 8
21 WCE Strong game in midfield with 28 touches and eight tackles. Fought bravely from start to finish. 7
22 Frem Busy without dominating. Used the ball well and laid five tackles. 6
23 NM Soldiered on in midfield to complete a consistent home and away season. 5
QF Syd Never ceased trying and hard running and safe delivery was essential to win. 8
PF WB Battled hard. Eight clearances, four inside-50s and four tackles. 8

2015 Season

1 StK Sub. On final term and provided some handy late run through the middle. 1
2 Melb Ditched the sub vest and was one of the Giants’ best. Two goals icing on cake. 8
3 Syd Laid team-high 10 tackles and cracked in all game. Close to best. 8
4 GCS Continued good early season form but was a bit scrappy with his disposals. 6
5 WCE Tackled his heart out. Had 20 touches too. 6
6 Haw Worked hard and won a lot of his own footy with 12 CPs. 6
7 Carl Blitzed Murphy in head to head battle. 33 touches and a goal. 8
8 Adel A bit quieter this week but got four clearances to play part. 5
9 WB Battled away against the odds. 5
10 Bris Good battle with Beams. Held his own both defensively and with ball in hand. 6
11 Coll Ankle knock in second term, which hampered him and ended on interchange. 5
12   Shoulder.

15 StK Crucial job in shadowing Armitage and won plenty of the ball too. 8
16 GCS Spent most of the day on Ablett, but tried to win own footy. 5
17 Geel Efficiency down but one of few Giants whose work-rate was first class. 6
18 Frem Started brilliantly. Finished with 28 disposals and one goal. 7
19 Ess Strong contributor throughout in midfield. Cleaned up by Cooney in final term. 7

21 Syd Battled away in midfield against the tide. 6
22 Carl Quieter outing but hand some handy touches. 5

2014 Season

1 Syd Excellent four quarters and kicked one of the sealing goals to sink Sydney. 8
2 StK Impressive on the ball and looked good. 7
3 Melb Constantly near the ball and had good game. 6
4 WB Had the better of his matchup on Cooney in the middle. 7
5 Adel Laid eight tackles and had five inside 50s. 7
6 GCS Disposal was a little sloppy but run from defence important. 6
7 Port Very good this year but the young midfielder was a little down. 5
8 WCE Battled hard in home state but was unable to have a great impact. 4
10 Rich Tried hard against the flow in the middle. Kicked a goal. 6
11   Shoulder.  
12 Ess Sub came on in third term and quickly got amongst it. 3
13 Bris Sub came on in fourth term and got amongst it. 2
14 Carl Eight tackles, eight marks, he was influential from start to finish. 7
15 Syd Maintained his good form. 7

2013 Season

1 Syd Busy for much of the game but like so many Giants wasn’t precise with skills. 6
2 Port Consistently strong output around the ground. 6
3 StK Broke clear at times without huge impact overall. 4
4 Melb Big ball winner in the opening three quarters. Faded late. 7
5 GCS Had a reasonable input. 5
6 Ess OK without shining. Tired late. 5
7 Adel Busy and kept trying Missed a sitter with running shot. 5
8 Haw Prolific possession winner. Looked a quality player. 7
9 WCE One of his best ball users in a midfield that was well beaten. 6
10 Carl 10 contested possessions and two goals. Worked his butt off. 6
11 Geel Struggled to get into the game and subbed out late in third quarter. 3
12 Port Competed hard around the ball to be one of the Giants better performers in loss. 6
14 NEAFL Good game after being sent back to the NEAFL for a break.
15 WB Would have learned plenty from his match-up with Griffen. 5
16 NEAFL Hamstring.

18 NEAFL Attacked the ball hard in midfield to help UWS build lead.
19 Melb Sub. Huge final term helped cement win. A few acts of superb courage. 3
20 Frem Struggled to impact despite seven tackles and seven contested possessions. 4
21 Bris Always in the thick of it, even when the Lions were dominating early. 8
22 Rich Battled on in the middle but kicking was scrappy. 4
23 GCS Played on Ablett at times and will learn from the experience. 5

2012 Season

1 Syd Cramped late but stood up in tackles and lived up to reputation. 6
2 NM Not as prominent as in first round. 3
3 WCE Went head to head with S. Selwood and beaten. 5
5 WB Impressive first half before concussion forced him to be subbed. 5
6 Carl Intensity and effort around the footy first class. Did it at both ends. 7
7 GCS Showed why he was considered one of the best kids in the land last year. 8
8 Bris Had moments of brilliance. 5
9 Ess Slightly down on recent form, uncharacteristically turning the ball over. 4
10 Geel Starting to find his feet – team-high disposal tally, four inside-50s and a goal. 8
15 Haw Had 25 possessions but stood out for the long sleeved white jumper he wore. 6
16 Adel Continues to show poise and strength beyond his years. 6
19 Port A tireless worker, Coniglio filled out the stat sheet in a terrific display. 7
