2016 Digest:   Really professional in his training, which is renowned for its thoroughness within the club. Only a couple of games early last year then was dropped and missed the closing half of season with a leg injury. Superbly fit now but chances may be limited.

2016 NAB Cup:   Hard worker on the track. Good against North Melbourne.

2016 Season

3 VFL Tried hard but wasn’t at his best in midfield role.

5 VFL Superb in midfield. Won the hard ball in tight to feed outside runners.
6 VFL Good outing with 28 possessions and seven marks in the middle.
7 VFL A bit quieter than he has been but a hard worker as always.
8 VFL Battled hard in defensive role in midfield. Not the worst.
9 VFL Did his bit, but wasn’t a standout with ball in hand. Laid 10 tackles however.
10 VFL Bye.
11 VFL Worked hard in midfield to get ball rolling Sandy’s way.
12 VFL Stuck to task well enough in midfield battle and won a bit of own ball.
13 VFL Bye.
14   Didn’t play for Sandringham.

23 VFL Burnt the ball a bit by foot but won it fairly well in midfield.

4 Carl Played in attack at start on Walker. Tried hard but didn’t get much of it. 2
5 VFL Toiled away but wasn’t a big factor in middle.
6 VFL Sandy’s main ball-winner with 31 touches in win.
7 VFL One of Sandy’s best with 31 possessions in midfield romp.
8 VFL Had 17 touches, goal but unable to quell Hawk mids.
9 VFL Super effort. 22 touches and three key goals.
10 VFL Not as prominent this week, but still had 20 possessions.

5 Ess Tagged Heppell out of it. Excellent job. 7
6 Bris Carried out key tagging role on Rockliff well. 7
7 Haw Started tagging Mitchell and did well, but not prominent after Hawk went off. 4
8 Carl Had the main tag role on Murphy who got away from him especially in first hour. 3
9 GCS Won a bit of the ball and wasn’t the worst. 4
11 Coll Solid low-key worker. 4

17 NM Returned after few weeks in VFL and took on tagging roles. OK on Harvey late. 4

1 PM Started well but drifted out after half time.
2 VFL Best for Sandringham and has to be nearing an x debut.
3 VFL Quiet day by usual standards.
4 VFL Strong effort again in the Sandy midfield with 26 touches.
5 VFL Burrowed in and played his role despite being tagged.
6 VFL Had 22 possessions. Influential when game was on the line.
7 VFL Bye.
8 VFL Starred again with 31 possessions and two goals.
9 VFL Bye.
10 VFL Just the 12 touches. Not his best outing.
11 VFL Had 19 disposals and kicked a goal. Not his best, but OK.
12 VFL Tirelessly burrowed in-and-under in another solid display.
13 VFL Worked hard against the tide against Frankston.
14 VFL A clear standout with 34 possessions in midfield. Super effort.

16 VFL Solid outing again with 19 possessions and two goals.
17 Port Sub came on and added spark and enthusiasm. Kicked what seemed to be winning goal. 3
18 Geel Sub. Came in second term to replace Gwilt but had zero effective disposals. 0
19 Bris Dogged young bloke given run-with role for much of game. 4
20 Haw Spent last one and a half quarters tracking Mitchell. Good learning curve. 5
21 Syd Good work on one of best midfielders in comp in Hannebery. Growing belief. 6

1 VFL Strong effort with 31 disposals in the midfield.
2 VFL Won 25+ possessions in the midfield. Good inside and out.
4 VFL Not his best outing this year but tried hard.
5 VFL Did a few good things but was fairly quiet.
6 VFL Worked hard in close and found plenty of space.
7 VFL Used his pace to advantage at times, won his own ball.
8 VFL Kicked three early goals to play big role in the outcome.
11 VFL Good game across half back and through the middle.
12 VFL Strong game in the midfield trying to sway the tide.
13 VFL Shut down Couch until the Dees rookie kicked the winner.
14 VFL Tagged Valenti and did a sterling job.
16 VFL Chipped in with a goal but wasn’t his best game.
